In the present knowledge and information society, every citizen can enjoy benefits of various advanced technologies such as information and communication technology(ICT) and smart technology. Nowadays everybody has to have some level of information literacy and application ability in order to enjoy benefits from various advanced technologies. In additions, knowledge and practice will about information and communication ethics are also required for all. Currently we need some kind of standards to evaluate and model everybody's information literacy and application capability. In this sense, information culture index has been developed to check information literacy and application capability of every citizen for various aspects of daily life. Information culture index consists of three standards, that is, application, awareness, and norm, respectively. Application standard indicates how information contents and skills are generalized for all. In other words, it is concerned with how every citizen can understand information literacy and use information skills in his or her daily life. Awareness standard is concerned with how well everyone can respect and trust others in the current information culture community. Norm standard is concerned with how everyone can use information communication services according to his or her desirable sense of information and communication ethics. The purpose of this paper is to analyze correlation between academic background and three standards of information culture index, that is, application, awareness, and norm. For this purpose, we use 2-year national survey works for information culture. After thorough statistical analysis, we can conclude that, awareness and norm standards do not show a meaningful correlation with academic background while application standard shows a meaningful correlation with academic background, It means that, the higher academic background one has, the higher application standard one can achieve. We expect that our correlation analysis results can be helpful to spread of information education and information culture in the future.

The purpose of this study is to obtain basic information and implications for developing media information literacy curriculum by comparing and analyzing UNESCO's media and information literacy competencies and AASL's key competencies with the 2015 Revised Curriculum and the Library and Information Life curriculum. As a result of the analysis, First, UNESCO's MIL and AASL's key competencies in media information literacy were related to the competencies of the 2015 Revised Curriculum. Second, UNESCO's MIL included more aspects of the composition and competencies of information literacy than media literacy. For this reason, it could be said that media information literacy more appropriately reflects the content pursued by media literacy education than media literacy. Third, UNESCO's MIL included more training content for media literacy than information literacy. Fourth, the contents of media literacy were found to be insufficient in the Library and Information Life curriculum compared to the education contents of library and information literacy. Fifth, the competency standards related to media information literacy and Libraries and Information Life did not present cultural sensitivity competency. Based on the results of the study, It is necessary to develop a media information literacy curriculum that fuses the contents of media literacy beyond the information literacy that use library resources.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the structure, and contents of the US national school library standards presented in the document National School Library Standards for Learner, Librarian and School Libraries made by AASL, and to provide basic information to refer to the direction and contents of Korean school library standards. AASL's National School Library Standards provide Learner Standards, School Librarian Standards, School Library Standards and Standards Integrated Frameworks that incorporate three previous standards, and emphasize the growth of learners and school librarians' competency by focusing on the educational activities of learners and school librarians. With the physical environment of the school library being somewhat established, it is necessary to establish standards for the educational content and competency of learners and teachers. In this study, I worked on necessary contents for Information Literacy of Korean universities by Delphi Method. The survey resulted in 100 necessary contents in five categories and each category presents average points and ranks of importance. Contents of high rank in each category should be valued highly when educational programs are to be designed. One remarkable difference in comparison with ACRL standards is that there are a lot of contents involved with basic understanding about Scientific Information System and Information Technology and knowledge application in this study, and another is that there is a lack of contents which require analytic judgements. The significance of this study lies in presenting directions and discussion points in designing of Information Literacy of Korean universities.
