In this paper, I will divide the history of mathematics into four development stages. These are based on significant developments of mathematical concepts or the creation of new fields of mathematics. Then, I will survey the history stages through a study of the characteristic method of research and the most important concepts from each period.

Truth, goodness, and beauty are originated from the Greek philosophy and these concepts are unified by Kant. This article shows that these three concepts correspond to three conditions of axiomatics, that is, consistency, completeness, and independence, respectively.

This study aims to research the Kisho Kurokawa's architectural concepts and expressions that are comprised of various and complex theories system for Korean's globalization of architecture. Kurokawa's architectural concepts are composed by Metabolism, Metamorphosis and Symbiosis. And intermediate zone, ambiguity, multivalence are theories that work as media in changing process levels to three main concepts and these are used as media of Metamorphosis which embody Symbiosis. Metabolism include concepts of Metamorphosis and Symbiosis. Symbiosis is comprise of concepts of Metabolism and Metamorphosis, and is a ultimate goal of these three main concepts. Metamorphosis works as a medium in changing process levels from Metabolism to Symbiosis. The architectural expressions are embodied according to these main three concepts and theories of media in changing process levels. And these architectural expressions are analyzed by three elements as follows: form, material & color, structure & technique.

It has been about twenty years since world history in a new sense was introduced to Korean academia. At first, it was the educators who showed a lot of interest in world history. But, before long, world/global history came to exert an important influence on history research and teaching in Korea. Even though certain unfavorable conditions still exist, the need for world/global history is growing and a number of academic institutes and scholars are putting in a great deal of effort to advance it in Korea. Here, we examine the changing meanings of world history on the basis of the history of concepts and provide a general idea of its introduction and diffusion in historiography and history education in Korea.

Students' alternative concepts of evolution are similar to misconcepts and disputes which scientists had in science history. The aims of this study are to analyze the elementary children's concept in evolution based on science history. Lee (2004)'s two tests were applied to 6th grade to investigate the children's evolution concepts and genetic concepts related to the historical development of the evolution concepts. The test results were analyzed in accordance with 4 stages of science history based on Lee (2004)'s method. These stages are divided to stage 1 (Before Lamarck), stage 2 (Lamarck), stage 3 (Darwin), stage 4 (After Darwin). The major results are as follows. Most of elementary school children are fixed to the stage 2. They usually do not show the consistency of evolution concepts in the three dimensional aspects such as mechanism, time, and subjects. Many children do not have concrete meaning of gene, inheritance, sexual reproduction, mutation and could not connect these concetps and process of evolution. Also, they believe the inheritance of acquired traits and spontaneous generation. Therefore it is confirmed that they still have similar misconcepts and disputes which scientists had in transition time between stage 2 and 3 and most of children already have strong Lamarckian thought acquired from daily life experience before learning about natural selection and evolution.

The purpose of this study is to classify a three-fold role of the history of mathematics through epistemological analysis. Based on the history of infinity and limit, the "potential infinity" and "actual infinity" discourses are described using four different historical epistemologies. The interdependence between the mathematical concepts is also addressed. By using these analyses, three different uses of the history of mathematical concepts, infinity and limit, are discussed: past, present, and future use.

In this paper we try to research in the influences which the concepts of infinity have made to our life, and how they have led the trend of the times through studying on the process of changes of concepts of infinity. Also we intend to make a research in how the shift of paradigm on the view of life have been changing under the circumstances in which the concepts of infinity have been accepted as an actual meaning.

The present paper considers how to teach mathematical concepts. In particular, we aim to a balanced, unified achievement for three elements of concept loaming such as concept understanding, computation and application through one's mathematical intuition. In order to do this, we classify concepts into three patterns, that is, intuitive concepts, logical concepts and formal concepts. Such classification is based on three kinds of philosophy of mathematics : intuitionism, logicism, fomalism. We provide a concrete, practical investigation with important nine concepts in theory of vectors from the viewpoint of three patterns of concepts. As a consequence, we suggest certain solutions for an effective concept learning in teaching theory of vectors.

The concept of health has existed through the history of mankind; the recognition and adaptation of such concept has transformed over time with the development of culture throughout the age of humans. These concept wasn't absent in the content East Asian Medicines, which is represented by Huangdi's Internal Classic. However, due to imperialism and colonial polocies in the past, biomedical concepts of health has been accepted with force. The concept of "health" in pathological medicines of biomedicine refers to the of anatomical and biological completeness of the body system. In East Asia, Korean especially, a number of concepts regarding these subjects has been informed by Japanese physicians, such as Hukujawa Yukichi. Understanding the idea of body in the angle of philosophy, history, and medicine in the cultural area of East Asia is necessary.

This research identifies the elements of the methodologies of Newton's discovery of his dynamics. These methodologies involve the transformation of preceding theoretical concepts and the discovery of common cause. This essay consists of two parts within historical case studies of Newton's works. The elements of the method of discovery consists of the transformation of preceding concepts and the identification of common cause in the formation of the research program's hard cores and protective belts. Newton transformed their predecessors' concepts to find out appropriate common causes in his dynamical theory. The transformed theoretical concepts are synthesized to be constructed as the elements of common cause which provide the foundations of Newtonian research programs.
