  • The research studied college students who are potential telemedicine users but have been relatively under-researched. Considering the characteristics of telemedicine technology and traditional medical services, we developed a research model that used UTAUT and the Behavioral Model of Health Service Use as a theoretical framework and added trust and privacy concerns that reflect the unique characteristics of telemedicine. To examine the research model, we conducted a survey, and the respondents were recruited from the online community for college students. The survey questionnaire included performance expectancy (usefulness, convenience, cost-saving), effort expectancy, social influence, trust, privacy concerns, health status, health anxiety, and demographic information. 166 data were collected, and we used SPSS Statistics and SmartPLS to analyze the measurement and structural models. Determinants of telemedicine acceptance were analyzed as usefulness, convenience, cost-saving, social influence, and trust. In addition, we conducted a multi-group analysis by gender and found that social influence had a stronger effect on female students' intention to accept telemedicine. Based on the results, this study investigates college students' motivations and personal characteristics affecting telemedicine acceptance and the mechanisms involved in how these factors lead to stronger acceptance intention.

  • This study was conducted to determine the association between quality of sleep (QOL) and the general characteristics, the health-behavioral factors, and the occupational characteristics of firefighting officers. The survey was conducted in October 2016 with a self-administered questionnaire using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) developed by Pittsburgh University, targeting 600 male firefighting officers working at five fire stations in D city. As a result, the QOL of the study subjects measured by the PSQI revealed 13.2% to be good, and 86.8% to be poor. In relation to general characteristics and health habits, the rate of the group who had poor quality sleep was significantly higher in those with a lower subjective health status, in the non-smoking group, and in the low sleep-quality group, compared to the good sleep-quality group. For occupational characteristics, the rate of those with poor quality sleep was significantly higher in groups such as the fire suppression group, the shift work group, the hard physical labor group, the group with a lower sense of satisfaction in their work, and in the group classed as unfit for the job but who were not considering quitting their jobs, compared to their respective counterparts. Multiple regression analysis revealed factors of influence with explanatory powers of 24.4% for subjective health status, alcohol use, subjective quality of sleep, career, job position, and physical labor. The results of this study suggest that the quality of sleep for firefighting officers is significantly related to general characteristics, health-behavioral characteristics, and occupational characteristics.

  • This study was trying to find the differences of the levels of e-commerce system satisfaction and a relationship between system satisfactions and behavioral intention to use e-commerce system continuously. Based on the previous studies, we identified the factors of system satisfaction that were consist of system readiness, accuracy, content, ease of use, timeliness and IT Support. The system satisfaction levels of martial status and the training status of hospitals had significant differences. In martial status, un-married managers had higher levels of ease of use and timeliness than the married. In this result, we might consider an age effect for younger persons are more likely to use IT and have more satisfaction perceptions. Rather than training hospitals, non-training hospitals had higher level of ease of use and IT support, which could be interpreted as e-commerce systems of training hospitals might not match their own managerial purposes and need an improvement of their system functionalities. This study also identified that the factors of system satisfaction has a relationship with behavioral intentions. Except accuracy and IT support of all six system satisfaction factors, four factors were significantly correlated with system usage intentions in their e - commerce works.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the correlation between the health behaviors and the aggression in Korean high school students. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted with a survey of 2,676 high school students. Aggression was measured in four categories (physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger and hostility) using the Aggression Questionnaire, a modified hostility inventory by Buss and Perry. Result: Univariate analysis showed that sex, smoking, alcohol, caffeine, pain pills and gastrointestinal drugs were significantly associated with aggression scores. Boys scored higher than girls in terms of physical and verbal aggression. With respect to the habit of self-medication, students who took pain pills in the last 30 days revealed higher scores in all four aggressive constructs. From multivariate analysis, it was found that alcohol, caffeine, smoking, pain pills, sex and gastrointestinal drugs were independently associated with total aggression score in the order of importance. Alcohol and caffeine, among these factors, had strong correlation with all aggressive characteristics. Conclusion: This study identified a consistent association between the aggression of the students and health behavioral factors, but causal relationship remains to be proven.
