We have cloned a soluble type human folate receptor(hFR type${\gamma}$) from human thymus cDNA library using the PCR amplification technique. To examine whether hFR type${\gamma}$ has a folate transport activity, CHO cells were transfected with the pcDNAhFR${\gamma}$ expression plasmid, and the stable cell line CHO/hFR${\gamma}$ expressing a high level of the hFR type${\gamma}$ was identified by northern and western blot analysis. The CHO/hFR${\gamma}$ cells produced a [$H^3$]folic acid binding protein in the culture medium. However, we couldn't detect any cell surface [$H^3$] folic acid binding and transport activities. The growth of the CHO/hFR${\gamma}$ cells was more rapidly inhibited than the wild type CHO cells in the low concentration folic acid media. These observations indicate that although soluble type human folate receptor can bind [$H^3$]folate, it does not involve in folate transport.

Objective : Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-gamma, a transcription factor in adipocyte differentiation, has important effects on insulin sensitivity, atherosclerosis, endothelial cell function and inflammation. Through these effects, PPAR-gamma2 might be involved with type 2 diabetes and vascular disease, including diabetic complications. Recently, it has been reported that the C161T polymorphism in the exon 6 of PPAR-gamma is associated with type 2 diabetes interacting with uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2) gene, and is associated with acute myocardial infarction. We studied the association of this polymorphism with type 2 diabetes and its complications, such as retinopathy, ischemic stroke, nephropathy and neuropathy in Korean non-diabetic and type 2 diabetic populations. Methods : Three hundred and thirty eight type 2 diabetic patients (retinopathy: 64, ischemic stroke: 67, nephropathy: 39 and neuropathy: 76) and 152 healthy matched control subjects were evaluated. The PPAR-gamma C161T polymorphism was analyzed by PCR-RFLP. Results : PPAR-gamma C161T genotype and allele frequency did not show significant differences between type 2 diabetic patients and healthy controls (T allele: 17.0 vs. 14.5, OR= 1.21, P=0.3188). In the analysis for diabetic complications, T allele in diabetic nephropathy was significantly higher than controls (P=0.0358). T allele in the ischemic stroke patients was also higher than healthy controls, although it had no significance (P=0.1375). Conclusions : These results suggest that the C161T polymorphism of the PPAR-gamma gene might be associated with diabetic nephropathy in type 2 diabetes.

본 연구에서는 우리나라 강우자료에 대한 분리효과를 검토하였다. 2변수 대수정규분포, 3변수 대수정규분포등, TYPE-극치분포, 2변수 Gamma 분포, 3변수 Gamma 분포, Log-Pearson Type-분포, GEV분포 등 7개 분포함수를 선정하고, Monte C미개 실험을 이용하여 과거 강우기록 자료로부터 얻은 왜곡도의 평균과 표준편차와 각 분포형들로부터 모의된 왜곡도의 평균과 표준편차와 차이를 분석하였다. 그 결과 우리나라 강우자료는 3변수 Gamma 분포를 제외한 나머지 6개 분포형에서 분리현상을 보였다.

Certain weak type endpoint estimates are established for maximal commutators generated by $Calder\acute{o}n-Zygmund$ operators and $Osc_{exp}L^{\gamma}({\mu})$ functions for ${\gamma}{\ge}1$ under the condition that the underlying measure only satisfies some growth condition, where the kernels of $Calder\acute{o}n-Zygmund$ operators only satisfy the standard size condition and some $H\ddot{o}rmander$ type regularity condition, and $Osc_{exp}L^{\gamma}({\mu})$ are the spaces of Orlicz type satisfying that $Osc_{exp}L^{\gamma}({\mu})$ = RBMO(${\mu}$) if ${\gamma}$ = 1 and $Osc_{exp}L^{\gamma}({\mu}){\subset}RBMO({\mu})$ if ${\gamma}$ > 1.

최근 저탄소 녹색성장 및 그린에너지 개발 정책에 힘입어 외연기관의 일종으로 스털링엔진에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 스털링엔진은 크게 ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, ${\gamma}$-type의 3가지 방식으로 구분되어지며 그 중 ${\gamma}$-type 엔진의 설계가 용이하고 다양한 적용이 가능하다는 특징이 있음에도 실린더와 크랭크간의 접속거리 문제로 인하여 ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$-type에 비하여 용적을 크게 차지하는 문제가 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위한 한 방안으로 주로 ${\alpha}$-type에 적용하는 Yoke crank를 응용하면 용적을 줄임과 동시에 실린더의 병렬화에도 유리하다. 금번 연구에서는 기존의 Ross Yoke crank 설계기법에서 개선하여 ${\gamma}$-type 스털링엔진의 Yoke crank 설계를 더욱 단순하고 효율적으로 적용할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다.

The objective of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of gamma-irradiated Asparagus cochinchinensis (Asparagi radix) (Lour.) Merr. Extract (ARE) and its inhibition effect on food lipid oxidation using emulsion-type pork sausage as a model. ARE was prepared from dried Asparagi radix root and ARE solution (1.0 g/mL) was gamma-irradiated with designated doses at 5, 10, and 20 kGy. Antioxidant activity of ARE solution was determined by measuring 1,1-diphenyl-e-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-9-sulphonic acid) (ABTS) radicals. Activities of DPPH and ABTS radicals were decreased, whereas total phenolic contents increased after gamma irradiation with a dose dependence. Addition of gamma-irradiated ARE dose-dependently retarded lipid oxidation of emulsion-type pork sausage during storage at $4^{\circ}C$. These results indicated that gamma-irradiated ARE might have antioxidant activity more than non-irradiated ARE due to increase of the content of polyphenolic compounds by ionizing radiation.

In this paper, we give definitions of compatible mappings of type(${\gamma}$) in intuitionistic fuzzy metric space and obtain common fixed point theorem under the conditions of weak compatible mappings of type(${\gamma}$) in complete intuitionistic fuzzy metric space. Our research generalize, extend and improve the results given by Sedghi et.al.[12].

In this paper, we propose the Stancu type generalization of a kind of modified q-Gamma operators. We estimate the moments of these operators and give the basic convergence theorem. We also obtain the Voronovskaja type theorem. Furthermore, we obtain the local approximation, rate of convergence and weighted approximation for these operators.

By assuming a Type-I censored sample, we propose the approximate maximum likelihood estimators(AMLE) of the scale and location parameters of the gamma distribution. We compare the proposed estimators with the maximum likelihood estimators(MLE) in the sense of the mean squared errors(MSE) through Monte Carlo method.
