  • We designed a family of completely autonomous mobile robots with local intelligence. Each robot has a number of on-board sensors, including vision, and does not rely on global positioning systems The on-board embedded controller is sufficient to analyze several low-resolution color images per second. This enables our robots to perform several complex tasks such as navigation, map generation, or providing intelligent group behavior. Not being limited to playing the game of soccer and being completely autonomous, we are also looking at a number of other interesting scenarios. The robots can communicate with each other, e.g. for exchanging positions, information about objects or just the local states they are currently in (e.g. sharing their current objectives with other robots in the group). We are particularly interested in the differences between a behavior-based approach versus a traditional control algorithm at this still very low level of action.

  • Haptic systems have been widely used for both virtual reality and augmented reality application including game, entertainment, education and medical sectors. Clothing designers and retailers initiated using AR and VR technologies to help the consumers find style with the perfect fit. Most of the developed augmented reality shopping is implemented by overlapping the image of the clothes on the customer so that he/she can find the fit. However, those are only visual information and the customer cannot experience the real size and the stiffness of the clothes. In this paper, we present the haptic upper garment which provides the haptic feedback to the user using cables. By controlling the length of the cable, the size of the clothes is set and by stiffness control, the compliance of the fabric is implemented. The haptic garment is modeled for precise control and the distributed controller architecture is described. With the haptic upper garment, the user's experience of the virtual clothes is greatly enhanced.

  • Recently there are various innovative user interfaces such as a wireless motion controller Wiimote appeared to give a new user experience which is different from the traditional devices like a joystick, mouse, or keyboard. With the advent of technologies, display devices become larger and larger in screen size and offer high-resolutions, and tiled display systems are also used in various applications. Although there are some efforts on investigating new interfaces developed for the large screen, there are a few studies conducted on user interaction on large displays such as tiled display. In this paper, we present a study evaluating and analyzing the effects of mouse or Wiimote user interactions on four different kinds of displays with various sizes and resolutions.

  • South Korea's advertising market in 2012, growing at a standard 10 trillion, but most advertising is in the form of one-way communication by advertisers. In this paper, at the time they are attracting the interest of consumers, more recent placement by Facebook or Youtube propose an advertising platform using the Kinect motion-sensitive controller that can communicate with consumers. In the proposed platform, by the simple enjoyment of the game accept ads without resistance, and can deliver content more effectively than advertising indirectly passing. Had occurred in the existing Windows forms drawing problem was solved by using the XNA game engine using the Facebook API was designed so that it can be integrated with SNS.The scored elements to attract the interest of the users with the introduction of the ranking system and the user's face image to extract added to the story line, and increased immersive.

  • In this paper, we present some properties on receding horizon $H_{\infty}$ control for nonlinear discrete-time systems. First, we propose the nonlinear inequality condition on the terminal cost for nonlinear discrete-time systems. Under this condition, noninceasing monotonicity of the saddle point value of the finite horizon dynamic game is shown to be guaranteed. We show that the derived condition on the terminal cost ensures the closed-loop internal stability. The proposed receding horizon $H_{\infty}$ control guarantees the infinite horizon $H_{\infty}$ norm bound of the closed-loop systems. Also, using this cost monotonicity condition, we can guarantee the asymptotic infinite horizon optimality of the receding horizon value function. With the additional condition, the global result and the input-to-state stable property of the receding horizon value function are also given. Finally, we derive the stability margin for the saddle point value based receding horizon controller. The proposed result has a larger stability region than the existing inverse optimality based results.

  • With the increasing number of the wireless and mobile networks, the way that people use the Internet has changed substantively. Wireless multimedia services, such as wireless video streaming, mobile video game, and mobile voice over IP, will become the main applications of the future wireless Internet. To accommodate the growing volume of wireless data traffic and multimedia services, cognitive radio (CR) and Information-Centric Network (ICN) have been proposed to maximize the utilization of wireless spectrum and improve the network performance. Although CR and ICN have high potential significance for the future wireless Internet, few studies have been conducted on collaborative operations of CR and ICN. Due to the lack of infrastructure support in multi-hop ad hoc CR networks, the problem is more challenging for video streaming services. In this paper, we propose a Cross-layer Video Streaming Mechanism (CLISM) for Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Information Centric Networks (CRAH-ICNs). The CLISM included two distributed schemes which are designed for the forwarding nodes and receiving nodes in CRAH-ICNs. With the cross-layer approach, the CLISM is able to self-adapt the variation of the link conditions without the central network controller. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed CLISM efficiently adjust video transmission policy under various network conditions.

  • Good reviews that Half-Life: Alyx received created a turning point for the vitalization of the VR market with an uncertain future due to the absence of a revenue model together with the increased sales of VR equipment. Based on previous studies, this study categorized the characteristics of VR games according to graphs, first-person system, interface, controller, interaction technology, sound and stories. The analysis results show that the seven elements corresponded with "interactions" and "virtual images," which represent the completion level of games as part of VR components, and were connected to one another, which led to the proposal of an upper-rank concept "presence" to put them together. "Immersiveness," which represents users' emotions as part of VR components, was analyzed with the immersion theory to assign tasks of proper difficulty level for users' abilities. In the research process, the Delphi technique and FGI were administered to a panel of 15 experts to ensure objectivity. Finally, "presence" and "immersiveness" are characteristics in proportion to each other and can be valid concepts in future analysis of VR games as well as Half-Life: Alyx, which led to the proposal a new concept framework called 'presence effects' by combining the two words.
