  • Steel fiber reinforced concrete is increasingly used day by day in various structural applications. An extensive experimentation was carried out with w/cm ratio ranging from 0.25 to 0.40, and fiber content ranging from zero to1.5 percent by volume with an aspect ratio of 80 and silica fume replacement at 5%, 10% and 15%. The influence of steel fiber content in terms of fiber reinforcing index on the compressive strength of high-performance fiber reinforced concrete (HPFRC) with strength ranging from 45 85 MPa is presented. Based on the test results, equations are proposed using statistical methods to predict 28-day strength of HPFRC effecting the fiber addition in terms of fiber reinforcing index. A strength model proposed by modifying the mix design procedure, can utilize the optimum water content and efficiency factor of pozzolan. To examine the validity of the proposed strength model, the experimental results were compared with the values predicted by the model and the absolute variation obtained was within 5 percent.

  • In this study we intended to investigate properties of cement mortar with recycled PET fiber, PE fiber, and PP fiber such as slump flow, compressive strength, tensile strength, and flexural strength. As results of experiment, several properties of specimen with recycled PET fiber were little low comparing those of specimen with PE fiber and PP fiber. But if we see from point of economy and recycle of industrial wastes, it has enough reason to be used. Compressive strength of specimen with recycled PET fiber at 56 days was about 10% higher, but tensile strength and flexural strength were lower than that of no-fiber.

  • This study will not only prove experimental dynamic properties which are classified to slump, compressive strength, tensile strength, flexure strength and toughness granite soil concrete with a fine aggregate of granite soil and blast-furnace cement and polypropylene fiber over 45 mm, but also establish a basic data in order to use environment-friendly pavement through prove useful pavement mixed with granite and polypropylene (PP) fiber which is a kind of material to prevent a dry shrinkage clack, a partial destruction and useful and light. The value of slump test was gradually increased by PP fiber volume 3 $kgf/m^3$, but compressive strength took a sudden turn for the worse from 5 $kgf/m^3$. The compressive strength indicated a range of 13.72~18.35 MPa. On the contrary to compressive strength, the tensile strength showed to decrease with rising PP fiber volume, and the tensile strength indicated a range of 1.43~1.64 MPa. The tensile strength was stronger about 2~15 % in case of mixing with PP fiber volume than normal concrete. The flexural strength indicated a range of 2.76~3.41 MPa. The flexural strength was stronger about 20 % in case of PP fiber volume 0 $kg/m^3$ than PP fiber volume 9 $kg/m^3$. The toughness indicated a range of 0~25.46 $N{\cdot}mm$ and increased proportionally with PP fiber volume. The toughness was stronger about 8.3 times in case of PP fiber volume 9 $kg/m^3$ than PP fiber volume 1 $kg/m^3$. The pavement with PP fiber volume over such a fixed quantity in the park roads and walkways can have a effect to prevent not only resistance against clack but also rip off failures.

  • Case that long-fiber reinforced polymeric composites of fiber orientation situation of a direction state is J=1 that is direction of tensile strength of another state appeared highest. And theoretical tensile strength value of long-fiber reinforced polymeric composites board of fiber orientation situation of a direction state appeared similarly with tensile strength value that long-fiber reinforced polymeric composites board of fiber orientation situation of a direction state. Also, than case that efficiency of fiber orientation situation of long-fiber reinforced polymeric composites is J=1 in it is J=0.1 of fiber orientation situation effect of long-fiber reinforced polymeric composites about 60% high appear.

  • This study will not only prove experimental dynamic properties which are classified to slump, compressed strength, bending strength and toughness index blast-furnace cement concrete with polypropylene (PP) fiber that refer properties and volume of it, but also establish a basic data in order to use PP fiber reinforced blast-furnace cement concrete. The slump didn't changed by PP fiber volume $5kgf/m^3$ because of flexibility of fiber in despite of loose mixing. The reason why the slump decreased steadily by PP fiber volume $3kgf/m^3$ was rising contact surface of water. The compressed strength indicated a range of 19.49~26.32 MPa. The tensile strength indicated a range of 2.10~2.44 MPa. The bending strength was stronger about 3~16 % in case of mixing with PP fiber volume than normal concrete. The flexure strength indicated a range of 4.30~4.83 MPa. The toughness indicated a range of $0{\sim}19.88N{\cdot}mm$ and was stronger about 6.7 times in case of PP fiber volume $9kg/m^3$ than PP fiber volume $1kg/m^3$. The pavement with PP fiber volume over such a fixed quantity in the roads of a respectable amount load can have a effect to prevent not only resistance against clack but also rip off failures.

  • Recently, It has increased to use ultra high strength concrete. It is effective to mix organic fibers for preventing spalling. But if fiber mixed, flowability of concrete is decreases. The aim of this study is to evaluation of fire resistance performance for fiber-mixed ultra high strength concrete on field application. As a result, flowability of nylon fiber mixed concrete is better than polyethylene fiber mixed. In non-fiber and polyethylene fiber mixed concrete, spalling occurred. And strain converged at 0.004. Also, residual strength could not evaluate. Nylon fiber mixed concrete is effective to prevent spalling. And it remians 50% residual strength compare with compressive strength at room temperature.

  • In this study mechanical properties of various fiber reinforced permeability concrete mixtures are investigated. Several mixes with fiber kinds(steel fiber, polyprophylen fiber, carbon fiber) and different fiber content(steel fiber : 0.3~0.9vol.%, polyprophylen fiber : 0.1~0.5vol.%, carbon fiber : 0.2~0.7vol.%) were studied. Test results are presented in terms of compressive strength, tensile-flexural strength and load-deflection behavior. The effect of fiber reinforcement does not increase the compressive strength of permeability concrete without fiber. Also, the tensile-flexural strength using various fibers are appeared good strength increase as conventional fiber reinforced concrete. Therefore, use of fiber for permeability concrete is necessary to improve of tensile-flexural properties and deformation performance(toughness).

  • In this thesis, fracture test was performed in order to investigate the fracture strength of SFRC(steel fiber reinforced concrete) structures. The relationship between the compressive force and strain value of SFRC specimens were observed under the compressive strength test. From the fracture test results, the relationship between percentage of fiber by volume, compressive strength, elastic modulus, and tensile strength of SFRC beams were studied, and the measured elastic modulus of SFRC were compared with the calculated elastic modulus by ACI committee 544.

  • The fiber contributes the high strength and modulus to the composite. The fiber orientation in FRP has a great effect on the strength of FRP because the strength of FRP mainly depends on the strength of fiber. In this study, FRP was made unidirectionally by pultrusion method and outer part of FRP was made by filament winding method to give fiber orientation to the FRP. The bending strength and bending stresses of FRP rods were simulated according to the winding orientation of glass fiber. The bending strength of FRP was also evaluated. The results of simulation and evaluation Were compared each other to investigate main stresses which affect the fracture of FRP. The main stresses which had a great effect on the strength of FRP were shear stresses.
