  • The purpose of this study was to develop a large representative data base for jeans marketing strategy This study was to survey brand features(launching year, launching company, design concept, sales volume, and price zone) in the current market, and was to examine brand awareness and it's relationship to segmented distribution regions, demo- graphic variables(sex, age, monthly household income, and seasonal clothing expenditure). This study was also to analyze brand image and consumer's seeking image. The 660 questionnaires were distributed and 618 reliable ones were used for statistical analysis. A SAS statistical package including frequency table, Chi-square test, factor analysis, analysis of variance(ANOVA), Duncan's multiple range test and paired-t test was used. The results are as follows: 1. Brand awareness involves "brand recall" based on asking a person to name the brand recalled first, and "brand recognition" based on asking to identify brand name from 30 given brands. The result of recall brand test indicated that Levi's was dominant brand. People recognized about 70.8% of brands on the average. Brand recognition was influenced by segmented distribution region and demographic variables. 2. There was significantly positive relationship between brand recognition and purchasing behavior. 3. National brands were more recognized than Licensed brands. 4. The result showed that "Nix" was best represented for sophisticated brand image, "Strom" for characteristic, "Jambangee" for resonable price, and "Levi's" for classic '||'&'||' comfortable brand image. 5. As a result of factor analysis on consumer's seeking image, six factors(characteristic, young, intelligent/sexy, comfortable, exotic and popular) were found. Several factors had a relationship with preferred design, demographic variables, fashion interest, and brand recognition. variables, fashion interest, and brand recognition.

스포츠화시장의 구매시점효과에 관한 기술적 연구 -요일효과와 월중효과를 중심으로- (A Descriptive Study on the Purchase Timing Effect in Athletic Shoes -Focused on Day-of-the-week Effect and Intra-month Effect-)

  • The influence of a marketing mix on the consumer purchasing process is well documented in academic fields; however, studies of when consumers purchase fashion brands or products in terms of the day-of-the-week effect and 10-days-of-the-month effect on various channels to a given brand in practice are limited in the fashion industry. This study empirically describes the purchase timing behavior for athletic shoes using daily sales data from a domestic brand in Korea from January in 2006 to December in 2010. The results show that Saturday and Sunday have significantly higher sales than weekdays. In addition, the first and third 10-days-of-the-month yield a higher sales volume than the second 10-days-of-the-month. The department store's sales volume (compared with discount and franchised stores) was higher in the first 10-days-of-the-month; however, the discount and franchised stores have a higher sales volume in the second 10-days-of-the-month. Three store types have no significant differences in sales volume for the third 10-days-of-the-month. Based on the results, in practice, marketers for a specific domestic brand can develop a new marketing expenditure plan, store supply plan, and cash-in and cash-out plan to maximize profits. This research can introduce constructs such as purchase timing distribution, the day-of-the-week effect, and the ten-days-of-the-month effect for the fashion industry.

시뮬레이션 모형을 통한 관광정보서비스 효과 분석 (Analysis of Tour Information Services using Agent-based Simulation)

  • 본 연구에서는 개별 관광객을 Simulation하는 모형을 개발하고. 이를 이용해 첨단 관광정보시스템 하에서의 여행객의 관광지 선택행태 변화와 관광 수요 패턴의 변화를 분석하였다. 관광객의 여행계획 목적함수는 기대효용 최대화로 가정하였고, 교통망에서 순차적 방문 계획 해를 얻기 위해 Traveling Salesman Problem(TSP)을 이용하였다. 단 관광객들의 경우 하루 동안 주어진 여행시간과 여행예산의 제약이 존재하기 때문에, 제약이 존재하는 TSP. 즉 Prize-Collecting TSP를 이용하였으며, 하루 이상 관광지에 체류하는 관광객들의 여행계획 문제를 풀기위해 Prize-Collecting Multiple-Day TTaveling Salesman Problem(PC MD TSP)을 개발하였다 관광 정보의 형태는 사전정보, Oft-line 정보. On-line 정보로 구분하여, 전체 관광객들을 이용 가능한 정보 형태에 따라 3가지 계층으로 구분하였으며. Simulation을 통해 각 관광지의 관광객을 계산하였다. 개발된 모형을 통해 Ubiquitous 환경에서의 On-line 정보가 관광객들뿐만 아니라 관광지에도 수요증가에 따른 운영 이익 증대를 가져다 줄 수 있음을 확인하였다.

20-30대 남성의 그루밍 정도에 따른 외모관리행동, 의복선택행동, 의복선호도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Appearance Care Behaviors, Clothing Selection Behaviors and Clothing Design Preference of 20-30's Korean Men by the Level of Grooming)

  • The purpose of this study was to describe 20's to 30's men's fashion lifestyle and develop clusters in grooming related variables. We also tried to interpret profile of clusters, and determine the difference between different level of grooming clusters in appearance care behaviors, and clothing behaviors such as clothing selection, preference of clothing image and design in men's wear. Data was obtained using the survey methods by convenience sampling. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, chi-square test, and t-test were used for analysis using SPSS 18.0. The result of factor analysis of men's lifestyle show that 5 factors are extracted. Two different clusters were formed after the K-means cluster analysis. We realized that the level of grooming activity is significantly associated with the young men's major expenditure item, and beauty/care items, and the reason for exercise. The level of grooming was strongly associated with clothing selection behaviors. In addition, there is a significant difference in preferred image between two different grooming groups. In the feminine image, HG group favored more than LG group. The preferred design was associated with the degree of grooming as well. Unique and stylish top and bottom styles such as cargo, hiphop, and boots cut were favored more by HG group than LG group. We suggest that we can do market segmentation by the degree of the grooming activity, considering the current men's taste and trend to extend market share.

순천만국가정원 물빛축제의 방문객 행태와 경제적 효과 분석 (Visitors' Behaviors and Economic Impacts of the Mulbit Festival at Suncheon Bay National Garden, Korea)

  • 순천만국가정원과 순천만습지는 전남 순천을 대표하는 관광명소가 되었다. 이 연구는 2017년 7월부터 8월까지 순천만국가정원에서 열린 물빛축제를 관람한 방문객의 행태와 축제의 경제적 효과를 분석한 것이다. 물빛축제에는 총 802,825명이 방문하였다. 응답자 중 외지 방문객(75.0%)이 순천시민(25.0%)보다 많았고, 숙박 방문객(52.0%)이 당일 방문객보다 많았다. 축제 관람 이후 식사 숙박 쇼핑을 등을 이유로 시내권을 방문하려는 방문객 비율(52.8%)도 그렇지 않은 방문객보다 많았다. 방문객의 1인당 평균 소비지출액은 순천시민이 17,269원, 외지 방문객이 112,793원으로 추산되었다. 방문객 소비지출액을 기초로 경제적 효과를 분석한 결과, 직접 경제적 효과는 약 570억 원, 간접 경제적 효과 중 생산파급효과 약 919억 원, 소득파급효과 약 191억 원, 부가가치파급효과 약 413억원 등으로 각각 추정되었다.

  • 국가의 브랜드 파워와 국가 이미지를 강화시킬 수 있는 문화원천으로 판단되는 신한류는 꾸준한 경제적 파급효과를 가져올 것으로 예상됨에 따라 본 연구에서는 신한류의 주요 소비자인 일본 및 중국인 관광객을 대상으로 신한류에 관한 관여 요인, 신념, 태도 요인을 근거하여 이들 집단들을 세분화하고, 한국관광에 대한 만족도, 충성도 및 여행경비 등의 관광행동에 있어서의 차이와, 각 집단별로 다양한 장르의 신한류 참여활동을 비교하였다. 연구 결과 신한류에 관한 적극적인 관여와 신념, 태도를 보이는 집단이 한국을 재방문하고자 하는 계획과 의도 및 주변인들에게 한국 방문에 대한 추천의사가 매우 높았으며 이러한 집단이 다른 집단에 비해 방문 시 지출하는 금액이 많다는 결과를 토대로 신한류가 갖고 있는 경제적 파급효과를 입증하였다.

유기농 닭에 대한 말라위 소비자 인식 및 가치 추정 (Consumers' Perceptions and Valuation of an Organic Chicken in Malawi)

  • In general, an increase in consumer income increases interest in safe foods and increases consumption of environmental friendly foods. Meanwhile, even in Malawi, interest in safe food and environmentally friendly food has been increasing due to increase in per capita income, but research related to this has not been done yet. The purpose of this study is to estimate the value of environmentally friendly foods in Malawi consumers. For this purpose, we surveyed the consumption patterns and estimated the value of organic chicken for consumers visiting supermarkets. As a value estimation technique, Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) was used. Probit model analysis showed that price, expenditure on regular chicken, and knowledge of organic food affect the willingness to pay for organic chicken. CVM analysis shows that Malawi supermarket consumers are willing to pay MK2,514 (3.59) dollars per kilo of organic chicken, which is 25.7% higher than the average price of a regular chicken. Thus, Malawi supermarket consumers can deduce that they have a higher value for environmentally friendly food than regular food. These findings can be used in formulating policies on food safety by government officials, organic chicken meat marketing strategies by supermarket mangers, decision making to enhance organic food production by producers, in order to develop organic food industry.

성인 남녀의 외식 행동과 한국 음식에 대한 의식 조사 (Eating out behaviors and attitude toward Korean foods in adult)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate several aspects of eating out behavior especially in relation to Korean food. Self-administered questionnairs were completed by 700 adults living Seoul and Kyunggi-do area from June to July 1994. The results were as follows: 1. The 68.4% of subjects ate outside home either frequently or occasionally. Lunch-eat-out was the most frequent and breakfast-eat-out, the least. Male subjects, adults under the age of 50, and students ate out more frequently. 2. The 70.3% of subjects spent less than 5000 won for the expense of eating out. Those under the age of 25 and students considered reasonable the expenditure of less than 3000 won for lunch and less than 5000 won for supper. But older adults and workers and housewives prefered $3000{\sim}5000$ won for lunch and $5000{\sim}15000$ won for supper. 3. Nayngmyun, bibimbap, jajangmyun, pizza, Broiled galbi, and pork cutlet were favorite eat-out dishes. Among Korean foods, bibimbap, Broiled galbi, nayngmyun, bulgogi and galbitang were frequently selected menues. While Korean dishes had a tendency to be selected as a first choice, noodle type dishes and western style fast food were prefered as a second and third choices. 4. Korean food restaurants received highest score in the food taste and familiarity evaluations. They also received good grade in such points as the nutritive value of food, amount of serving portion and the variety of menu. But as for the sanitation and food price, Korean restaurant scored the lower mark in comparison to noodle restaurant and fast food restaurant.

날씨 및 요일 특성이 음식점 메뉴 검색시스템 이용에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Influence of Weather and Daytime on Restaurant Menu search System)

  • 지속적인 경제 성장에 따라 소비자들의 외식 횟수는 해를 거듭할수록 점점 늘어나고 있으며 그 만큼 외식 산업 역시 양적인 성장을 기록하고 있다. 소비자가 외식을 결정하고 메뉴를 선정할 때 다양한 변수가 존재하지만, 본 연구에서는 강수, 적설, 운량에 따른 날씨 변수와, 계절과 휴일에 따른 요일 변수가 소비자들의 메뉴 선택에 얼마나 기여하는 지를 중점적으로 규명하고자 하였다. 분석은 '식신'의 사용자가 메뉴 검색을 하고 매장을 선택하고 조회하는 데이터를 연구 자료로 활용하였다. 여기에 기상청에서 제공하는 일별 날씨 데이터를 대입하여 분석을 수행하였다. 특히 강수, 적설, 운량에 따른 날씨 변수와 계절, 휴일에 따른 요일 변수로 나누어 연구 분석을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 날씨와 요일 변수가 사용자의 메뉴 검색에 유의미한 영향을 미친다는 결과를 확인할 수 있었으며, 본 연구 결과를 활용하면 외식산업 시장에서의 우위를 다질 수 있는 소상공인, 마케팅 종사자, 기타 관련자에게 많은 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

Who has experienced better or worse health conditions since the outbreak of COVID-19?: results from a representative cross-sectional survey in Seoul

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has affected the entire world population in many ways. This study aimed to analyze the patterns of changes in eating, food purchasing and preparation, physical activity, and subjective health after COVID-19 outbreak by various sociodemographic factors and to understand the factors associated with changes in subjective health. SUBJECTS/METHODS: A cross-sectional survey using a representative sample from Seoul was used for the analysis. The data collection was conducted from September to October 2020. A total of 3,833 citizens aged more than 18 years old participated in the Seoul Food Survey. Descriptive statistics and generalized ordinal logistic regression models were used to understand the changes in health behaviors, health indicators, and subjective general health by various socioeconomic status. RESULTS: It was shown that the changes in household income, food expenditure, food consumption and physical activities differed significantly by age, education, occupation, income, weight, and food security status. Low-income and food-insecure households were affected more severely by the pandemic. Older age, household food insecurity, income reduction, increased home cooking and frequency of having instant foods, decreased physical activity and weight gain were significant factors explaining worse perceived health during the COVID-19 pandemic. CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest that focusing on older populations and low-income families with food insecurity should be prioritized during infectious disease outbreaks. In addition, the role of physical activities and instant food consumption in explaining perceived health should be investigated further in this prolonged battle with the pandemic situation.
