This study has done to extract the characteristics of contemporary urban design idea for waterfront industrial-logistics city through the comparative analysis on the 5 prize winning pieces which had submitted for "The Competition of Urban Concept for the Busan River City" by leading urban architectural designers who have futuristic and international vision. Following the analysis on design guideline with the 5 categorical subject (concept, land use, transportation, residencial area, open space), the characteristics and differences of each design are summarized. The result can be utilized for the waterfront planning and design including new town project.

In this research, I analyze cases of character packages in Japane, extract the concept of design that was loved by consumers and inmates and succeeded in marketing, and aim to establish the logic and principle. In addition, in the future, when introducing and utilizing the character package design in Korea, this research intends to make a guideline for the development of objective validity and empathic package design. After identifying the design concept and finding the principle by targeting package design of five character of Tohato which mixed various media and expanded sales, I want to find out the cause of success. Therefore, I have studied the theory and principles of enterprise and creative in product strategy through case analysis of character design concept and character package design. As a result, a design that leaving the functional side, having a story, making memories, and inducing a sense of closeness was as a successful case of renewal. In the package design, in some cases, package design execution is more important under the theoretical system according to consumer behavior analysis and Promotion of bold design concept of the design for the success of that concept, deviated from the existing principle.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to define and clarify the concept of developmental care for preterm infants. Methods: The hybrid model method was used to identify the main attributes and indicators. In the field work stage, data were collected in Seoul and Cheonan, Korea. The participants were 5 nurses working in the NICU. Results: The concept of developmental care was found to have six attributes and ten indicators in 2 dimensions. For the nursing practice dimension, four attributes were derived. They were being like intrauterine state, individualization, interaction, and integrative care with awareness of development. For the family centeredness dimension, supporting parental attachment and professional alliance were attributes of developmental care. Conclusion: Developmental focused care can facilitate the identification of behavioral responses of newborns and provide individualized interventions for fostering growth and development. This concept analysis could provide guidelines for "developmental care" nursing practice and be useful for research in the neonatal field.

This study analyzed the concept of equal symbol(=) that is the most symbol used in learning of mathematics and investigated students' understanding of that. The equal symbol is endowed with the 'same', 'equal', and 'equivalent' meaning, represented by =, but students interpret the meaning of equal symbol according to the mathematical con text. Thus, we analyzed the equal symbol on the basis of the theory of conceptual fields. In the theory of conceptual fields, concept is a three-tuple of three sets of situation, operational invariants and symbolic representations, and the operational invariants are the concept-in-action and the theorems- in-action. With the analysis contents, we investigated how students read = by korean, what equals in the expression containing = or by what meaning students used =, and which they could correct the error for =. This study imply that we should consider the symbol notation agreed by mathematical society, the meaning, and the situational context that it used, when we teach the mathematics symbols.

The fraction concept consists of various meanings and is one of the abstract and difficult in elementary school mathematics. This study intends to find out the implication for introducing the fraction concept by comparing mathematics textbooks of Korea and Singapore. Both countries' students peformed well in recent TIMMSs. Some implications are as follows; The term 'equal' is not defined and the results of various 'equal partitioning' activities can not easily examined in Korea's mathematics textbook. And contexts of introducing fractions as a quotient and a ratio are unnatural in Korea's mathematics textbook in comparison with Singapore's mathematics textbook. So these ideas should be reconsidered in order to seek the direction for improvement of it. And Korea's textbooks need the emphasis on the fraction as a measure and on constructing fraction concept by unit fraction.

This study explored different concepts by handing out the questionnaires asking the 6 students of the second year of junior high school who had no lesson on cycle "which words related to cycle are suggested?" In regard to the stimulation of the word 'cycle', students relate it to different fields that they learn at school such as biology, environmentology, and earth science. The analyzed results from the answers by students are as follows. First, it resulted in from analysis on the questionnaire and the half-structured interviews that students were unable to expand the concept of cycle to the scientific concept, and perceived it fragmentarily. Secondly, their understanding on the system of the earth was low and they understood the concept of cycle with a unilinear thought rather than a systematic thought. Therefore, we need to synthesize the students' unilinear thoughts on cycle shown through this study and an effective educational strategy for their continuous, systematic thoughts, is essential.

The purpose of this study is to review the concept mapping tools and provide implications for designing tools that support collaborative learning activities. For this purpose, representative concept mapping tools - Convince Me, Knowledge Forum, Cmaptools, Mindmeister, Belvedere - was analyzed by using the 3C(Communication, Coordination, Cooperation) framework. We have applied three research methods; 1) literature review on design principles of tools, 2) heuristic evaluation, 3) focus group interview. As a result, most of comcept mapping tools supported communication functions but partialy supported coordication and cooperation features.

The purpose of this research was to analyze the concept map of kindergarten teachers concerning their levels of contents knowledge and their overall level of competency in terms of multi-cultural education. The participants were 104 teachers from 11 kindergartens in Busan. Data were analyzed by Sim's (2008) method based on Novak & Gowin (1984) and Morine-Dershimer (1993). The results were as follows. First, a majority of participants made a limited concept map and used 22 representative categories regarding multi-cultural education and the category of 'various nations' was the most popular superordinate concept. Second, the level of knowledge in terms of the maps were generally low in so far as most of maps reached hierarchy 1. The results of the research suggested that kindergarten teachers were lacking in basic knowledge of multi-cultual education and therefore there is a real need for both conceptualization and teacher training for multi-cultual education, reviewing of current 'teachers', 'manuals', and follow-up research aimed at analyzing teacher's multi-cultual education competence.

The ultimate purpose of the research is to solve the problem that fashion inspired by les Nouveau Pop Artic criticism and satirical factors is interpreted as concept of American Pop Art style, even though there is distinct difference between les Nouveau Pop Art style and American Pop Art style. We think that the reason causing the problem is that les Nouveau Pop Art is not familiar to the general public, even though it is getting attentions as trends treated by les Nouveau Pop Artists. Above all there is insufficient study to establish a theoretical system and a concrete concept on les Nouveau Pop Art. Therefore, this study is to set up the theoretical concept on les Nouveau Pop Art based on comparisons and analysis of the characteristics of works expressed les Nouveau Pop artists, and to draw the concept of les Nouveau Pop image fashion. The result of this study indicate that les Nouveau Pop Art Image Fashion is defined as "fashion design borrowing the concept and image from les Nouveau Pop Art and blending and consisting of the themes, characteristics and techniques from les Nouveau Pop Art.

The concept of time-space to be seen in the modem society has complex features at the points of scientific, philosophical, artistic, religious point of view. It has been brought up at a points of neo centric religious, philosophical view and then after, phenomenal approach and scientific approach were rendered through Newton and Einstein and so many scholar approaches affected the artistic field significantly. With such visual expression, it has affected the paintings for a long time till the 19th century, and then has affected various fields such as photography, film, video, computer, architecture and has currently affected the various space expressive of our daily lives and virtual space of digital. This study is to extract a visual and expressionistic characteristic through historical examination and multi-scholar analysis of time-space concept. Especially, by expanding the previous time and space concept, experimental cases and expressionistic characteristics has come up on the media art that offers various experience and by analyzing the expressionistic characteristics of the time-space concept expressed in media art, it is to extract the basic factors for the diversity of space experience.
