A new method of estimating axial nail force is proposed. An instrumented soil nail wall is selected to investigate the effectiveness of the new proposed method. The new method includes effect of creep and age of cement grout surrounding the steel bar, The new method also considers cracks in the grout generated during and after the end of the wall construction. It is found from this study that a reduced grout stiffness due to creep with age and crack of the grout must be considered for estimating correct axial nail forces. The reduced grout stiffness is considered also providing significant part of axial nail load compared to that of steel bar.

To Study the eruption pattern of the maxillary first permanent molar, the author took 266 cases of true lateral cephalogram (Male; 137 cases, Female; 129 cases) from 3 to 7 years old children and observed the vertical change and axial change. The following results were obtained: 1. The angle of axial inclination of the maxillary first permanent molar to the F-H plane increased gradually from age 3 to 7, except for age 6 in both sexes. There was a slight reversal of this motion at age 6. 2. The distance from the cusp of the maxillary first permanent molar to the occlusal plane slightly decreased from age 3 to 5, and rapidly decreased from age 5 in both sexes. 3. The change of angle of the axial inclination resulted in the distance from the distobuccal cusp of the maxillary first permanent molar to the occlusal plane decreasing more than that from the mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary first permanent molar to the occlusal plane in both sexes. 4. The eruption of the maxillary first permanent molar generally was found to be earlier in girls than boys.

Purpose: To assess the effect on axial elongation and associated factors between spectacles and of orthokeratology lens (OK) wearing in children with mild to moderate myopia. Methods: A total of one hundred subjects, ranging in age from 6 to 13 years, and with mild to moderate myopia no more than -4.50 diopters in spherical equivalent, visited our clinic from 2013 to 2015. The OK group (75 eyes) and the spectacles group (64 eyes) were compared and analyzed on the axial elongation and associated factors. Results: In the OK group, axial length was elongated in 1 year period with a mean increase of $0.24{\pm}0.29mm$. In spectacles group, axial length was elongated in 1 year period with a mean increase of $0.42{\pm}0.20mm$. The statistically significant suppression of axial elongation was observed in OK group compared to the spectacles group (Mann-Whitney U test, p < 0.05). For OK group, the age of starting OK (Pearson's correlation, r = -0.481, p < 0.05) was the only influencing factor on axial elongation, which had negative correlation with axial elongation. In spectacles group, the age of starting spectacles had negative correlation with axial elongation (Pearson's correlation, r = -0.462, p < 0.05) and baseline spherical equivalent, spherical diopter, cylindrical diopter from manifest refraction had positive correlation with axial elongation. Comparison of axial elongation in orthokeratology lens group and spectacles group by age groups (6 to 9 years [28 eyes], 9 to 13 years [47 eyes]), 9 to 13 years of orthokeratology lens group had the stronger suppression of axial elongation (Mann-Whitney U test, p < 0.05). Conclusions: The OK effectively suppresses axial elongation compared to the spectacles. Although the patients are in age from 9 to 13 years, the axial elongation was effectively suppressed.
To study the eruption process of the permanent tooth, esp., 1st molar, the author took 303 cases of oblique cephalogram (Male. 162 cases, Female: 141 cases) from age 3 to 8 yea old children, and observed the vertical change and axial change. The result were as follow:
1. The mesial end of upper 1st molar was closer to the occlusal plane than the distal, and they were erupting toward the occlusal plane by aging. In the case of lower 1st molar, the distal end was closer to the occlusal plane than the mesial and the occlusion showed the tendency to accord with the plane to be settled by aging.
2. Eruption rate of the upper and lower 1st permanent molar increased rapidly at 5 or 6 years of age.
3. Axial inclination of lower 1st permanent molar to the mandibular plane decreased gradually from 3 years of age, except for 6 years of age. There was some increase at 5 or 6 years of age.

Concrete structure that has been constructed in real field is on multi-axial stress state condition. After placing of concrete, hydration heat and shrinkage of concrete can cause various stress conditions with respect to the restraint level and condition. So, to predict the early age behavior of concrete structure, multi-axial material model is required and microplane model is acceptable. Recently, many studies have been performed on the microplane model, but the model developed up to now has been related to hardened concrete that material property is constant with concrete age. So, it is inappropriate to apply this model immediately to analyze the early age behavior of concrete. In this study, microplane model that can predict early age behavior of concrete was developed and cracking analysis using that was performed to describe cracking behavior for massive concrete sturucture.
Purpose: This study was to know the correlation among refractive error and the dimensions of ocular components on older adults. Methods: The subjects were 95 older age who had no eye diseases. The refractive error, corneal radius, corneal diopter, axial length, anterior chamber depth and lens thickness were measured and analysed. Results: The axial length(AL)/corneal radius(CR) ratio was positively correlated with the corneal diopter, axial length, the anterior chamber depth. Then it was negatively correlated with corneal radius. It was shown that the highest correlation was between the corneal diopter and axial length (r = -0.545, p = 0.000). The spherical equivalent of the refractive error was negatively correlated with the AL/CR ratio. Conclusions: It was shown that the AL/CR ratio was a very important indicator for diagnosing the refractive error of the old age.

Objective : In order to provide normal values of the pediatric sub-axial cervical spinal canal and vertebral body growth pattern using computed tomographic scans, a total of 318 patients less than 10 years old were included. Methods : The growth of the vertebral body and canal space was investigated using four different age groups. The Torg ratio (TR) was calculated and all patients were classified into a low TR group and a high TR group according to a cutoff value of 1.0. To account for spinal curvature, the C3-7 angle was measured. Results : Very little axial expansion and growth in height were observed (2.9 mm and 3.4 mm, respectively), and the spinal canal increments (1.8 mm) were much smaller than the dimensions of the vertebral body. The mean TR values were $1.03{\pm}0.14$ at the C3 vertebral level, $1.02{\pm}0.13$ at C4, $1.05{\pm}0.13$ at C5, $1.04{\pm}0.13$ at C6, and $1.02{\pm}0.12$ at C7 in all patients. The mean sub-axial angle (C3-7) was $7.9{\pm}10.6^{\circ}$ (range: $-17-47^{\circ}$). Conclusion : The upper sub-axial spinal canal continuously increased in size compared to the lower sub-axial spine after 8 years of age. Considerable decrements in the TR was found after late childhood compared to younger ages. Generally, there were no significant differences between boys and girls in vertical length of the cervical vertebrae. However, the axial dimension of the vertebral body and the spinal canal space varied according to gender.
In order to minimize radiation exposure and secure diagnostic value images during CT examination of the head of children, the usefulness of volume axial mode is evaluated through comparison and analysis of exposure dose and images of volume axial mode, high pitch mode, and helical mode. Image evaluation and dose evaluation were performed in CT high pitch mode, helical mode, and volume axial mode for infants under the age of 1 according to the voltages of 70, 80, and 100 kVp tubes. The image evaluation was conducted by comparing image quality by setting ROI for each image, calculating SNR and CNR, using ONE-WAY (ANOVA) to evaluated statistical significance, and cross-examining the dose evaluation using DLP values displayed in the Dose Report. When inspected using volume axial mode, DLP values were generally low, and SNR and CNR values differed by ROI and kVp. When volume axial mode evaluated the quality of the image compared to other scan modes, the difference is not uniform. For the reason, certain modes are not considered excellent, but the exposure dose was reduced the most in terms of dose. In addition, the point that the volume axial mode can be examined at its original location, short scanning time and needless of table movement is useful for CT tests for children under 1 year of age with high radiation sensitivity.

The evolutionary structure of a tip vortex in the initial period have been investigated by the two-dimensional LDV system. Circumferential and axial components of mean velocities, their turbulences and Reynolds stresses were measured by the phase averaging technique at seven different wake ages within one revolution of the rotor. Core growth was also analyzed. It was resulted that circumferential velocity components showed a Rankine combined vortex shape and their circulation profiles viewed in the radial direction were close to the n = 2 model of Vatistas' algebraic formula, while axial velocity components seemed to have the Gaussian profiles In these measured ranges with the base width of three times of core radii. Peaks of circumferential velocities and core radii showed distinct asymmetric behaviors before the wake age of $150^{\circ}$ over inboard and outboard sides of the slipstream, but they became symmetric afterwards. Turbulence profiles which had two peaks Inside the core radii in the earlier wake age were also changed to single peaks after $150^{\circ}$. These trends imply that the tip vortex was barely mature at this wake age.
To address the limitation of the commonly used steam curing of reactive powder concrete (SC-RPC) in engineering, a preparation technology of normal curing reactive powder concrete (NC-RPC) is proposed. In this study, an experimental comparative research on the mechanical properties of NC-RPC and SC-RPC under uniaxial tension is conducted. Under the premise of giving full play to the ultra-high performance of RPC, the paper tries to explore whether normal curing can replace steam curing. The results show that various mechanical indexes of NC-RPC (e.g., tensile strength, ultimate tensile strain, elastic modulus and deformation performance) could basically reach the mechanical index values in steam curing at 28d age, some performance is even better at a longer age. So it affirms the feasibility of normal curing. In this paper, the influence of normal curing age on the tensile properties of RPC is discussed, and the relationship between each index and age is introduced in detail. Based on the experimental data, the tensile mechanism of RPC is analyzed theoretically, and two kinds of tensile constitutive models for RPC are proposed, one is curvilinear model, and another one is polygonal line model. The validity of the two models is further verified by the test results of others.
