Sound equipment has developed rapidly as digital technology has quickly matured. Due to this fact, the necessary knowledge and skills are new. Moreover, improvements in digital surrealism in acoustical modeling have increased the challenges facing future audio engineers. Therefore, the necessity of Instruction in the use of sound equipment is needed for the specialist and amateur, alike. However, it is not easy to loam all kinds of sound equipment and systems which are upgraded often. It is necessary to offer a virtual environment that accurately simulates the manipulation and experiences of new sound recording technologies. The purpose of this study was to design a web based virtual operating system for sound equipment technologies which guide user to learn basic principles of usage and production techniques. The virtual simulation system was designed to aggressively implement an actual equipments so that user manipulation will accurately reflect current equipment usage and behavior.
The task for chromosome analysis and diagnosis by experienced cytogenetists are being concerned as repetitive, time consuming job and expensive. For that reason, intelligent agent based on chromosome knowledge base using web has been developed to be able to analyze chromosomes and obtain necessary advises from the knowledge base instead of human experts. That is to say, the knowledge base of IF THEN production rule was implemented to a knowledge domain with normal and abnormal chromosomes, and then the inference results by the knowledge base could enter the inference data into the database. Experimental data were composed of normal chromosomes of 2,736 cases and abnormal chromosomes of 259 cases that have been obtained from GTG-banding metaphase peripheral blood and amniotic fluid samples. The completed intelligent agent for the chromosome knowledge base provides variously morphological information by analysis of normal or abnormal chromosomes also has the advantage of being able to consult with the user on the chromosome analysis and diagnosis.
For the purpose of developing 'Web-Based Nutritional Education Program', this study analyzed nutritional problems of junior/senior high school students and set appropriate instructional goals for nutritional education program. Survey questionnaires were distributed from October 21,2002 to October 26, 2002 to a total of 564 students at three junior high schools and five senior high schools located in Seoul. The total number of questionnaires collected and used in our study was 479, which is 84.9% of the total questionnaires distributed. According to the survey results, three student groups (male and female students at junior high schools and female students at senior high schools) had lower than an ideal body weight. In case of their Basal Metabolic Indices (BMI), the female students and junior high school students showed a tendency to be underweight, while the other three student groups were within the normal range. The result of the survey showed that all four groups of students showed a deficiency in nutrient intake of calories, calcium and thiamin when compared with Korean RDA. Particularly, in the case of the female students at senior high schools, the deficiency of iron intake was a problem. The survey about food attitudes and food habits of the students showed that the senior high school students had more problems when compared with their junior high school counterparts (p < .001). Therefore, the instructional goals of nutritional education program were set as follows: 1) To improve the level of understanding and the perception of junior and senior high school students about the importance of a dietary lifestyle. 2) To change food attitudes and nutritional knowledge related to individual dietary 1ifestyle, so as to maintain good health through the enhancement of the students' physical activities. We found out that it is critically important to factor in the existing problems of food attitudes and food habits, as well as nutrient intake among junior and senor high school students when setting objectives for nutritional education programs. This paper is concerned with the design and construction of navigational interfaces on the web-based multimedia courseware, in particular for the education of elementary school children. Three different types of navigational strategies for the different structures of information are discussed. For hierarchically organised subject material, a single menu list is considered to be the most appropriate means of navigation. The interface of the 'Study of the Internet' provides a combination of child and sibling menus and sequential tools. The menus are used for navigating topics and subtopics, and the sequential method is used for navigating pages. The final navigational interface has the advantages of allowing the student flexible navigation, and proving an indication of progress through the subject material. Finally, the combination of menu and sequential navigational methods allow a student to maintain context, whilst navigating through different levels of hierarchical information. It thus reduces the danger that the student will lose their way, without overconstraining the navigational path.
Purpose: This study was to develop an online 'alternative therapy and health promotion' class for university students and to evaluate its changes. Method: The online class was developed based on the Instructional Systems Development(ISD) model and model of Web-Based Instruction(WBI) developmental process. This was a quasi-experimental, one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were 130 students in 3 universities, and they were provided the cyber class for 16 weeks. Data was analyzed by descriptive and plural answer statistics, and paired t-test. Results: The cyber class was developed in five steps : analysis, design, data collection and reconstruction, programing and publishing, and evaluation. The results of program evaluation were positive, which included learning 3.47. system 3.57, and learning satisfaction 3.64 on the scale of 5. The posttest scores of cognition and reliability of alternative therapy were higher than pretest scores. The posttest score of health promoting lifestyle(t=-5.051, p=.000) and perceived health status(t=2.979, p=.003) were significantly higher than those of the pretest. Conclusion: These results suggest that the cyber class is a positive method in increasing a cognition, reliability of alternative therapy, and is effective to improve a health promotion lifestyle and perceived health status for the university students.

Various computer-based learning programs have been developed in recent year. However, their quality has not been improved significantly. One major reason for little improvement on the quality is that most programs did not use an evaluation method to improve the quality of a programs. This paper is to introduce various evaluation methods such as evaluating a program by one expert, by a team of several experts, by a learner, by a small group of learners, by several learners and experts, by a focus group, and etc... These methods could improve the quality as well as increase the effectiveness of a programs. The effectiveness of each program will be increased by applying an appropriate evaluation method according to various factors such as time, cost. or learners.

In the field of civil and geotechnical engineering, students conduct a variety of soil tests to fulfill undergraduate soil mechanics course requirement. There is a range of problems in soil laboratory instruction, such as, some students not getting hands on experience of conducting tests because of inadequate number of apparatus, time constraints and inability in exciting students to seriously conduit the experiments, However when these laboratory soil tests are simulated with multimedia interaction ann visualization techniques, the students conceptual understanding of soil mechanics is enhanced. The simulation program for website teaching is a computer based instructional package intended to complement, and potentially replace, some physical testing in a real soil laboratory. The overall aim of this project is to develop an experimental simulation program toward active learning and development of critical thinking skills, including data interpretation, understanding of the precesses and influential factors, and problem solving. Therefore enable students to access website to team experimental procedure at any time or place.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a realistic illustration using watercolors on a complete airway obstruction maneuver that is at an appropriate level for elementary school students from the first grade through the third. The illustration is a series of cuts divided into specific frames designed to illustrate the method to be followed in an action or a practical skill that would otherwise be too difficult to explain in written form. Methods: The fundamental theory of the Jeong In-Sung's instruction learning program based on the WEB to construct an appropriate site of instruction learning was used after modification. In this study analysis, design, and production stages were realized. Results: 1. In Stage 1, impressions of the illustration, in sketch form, were received. In Stage 2, results of impressions from a modified illustration were received. After an appropriate level of understanding and accuracy in the practical steps for emergency maneuvers were achieved the illustrations entering Stage 3 and color was added to the sketches. 2. In Stage 3, the illustration was completed by adding color to the contents for the practical steps in the complete airway obstruction maneuver. 3. For composition evaluation, a result of 100% appropriateness was obtained for both items of harmony between illustration and subject being studied and sufficiency in quantity of illustrations. Also high results for appropriateness in items such as clarity, creating interest, illustration size, and tone preference as related to content were achieved and thus completed the production stages. Conclusion: The Complete Airway Obstruction Maneuver Illustration developed specifically for the characteristics and cognitive level of elementary school students grade 1 through grade 3 was appropriate for teaching and learning. There is a need for future research on developed illustrations aimed at elementary school students grade 1 through 3 on the complete airway obstruction maneuver. There is also a need for continued effort in developing certified evaluating tools that can judge the suitability of illustrations and developing illustrations related to emergency maneuvers for various subjects and appropriate for learner level.
The most important point in electronic learning(e-learning) is to gain the learning sympathy by improving interaction among the learners, instructors and operators around instruction contents. But it is necessary for the instructor to have active assistance of an administrator as a supporter and an operator because instructors do not accept all the learner's demands. So, operator's activity is very critical in success of e-learning. In this paper, wamine the theory of constructionism to effectively reflect the characteristic of WWW, and to build up a foundation of the web-based integrated e-learning circumstance. The circumstance is composed of 3 modules of the learner, instructor and the administrator. This aims to coordinate instruction functions in order to improve the effect of learning and to intensify the interaction. This paper presents the design and implementation of an e-learning system which is focused on the administrator's module to effectively support the operator's activity. As a result of this research, the system can be used in building up a variety of e-learning in university, that is, general training course and technical training course.

This study aims to examine the educational effects of the SSI program using Digital Storytelling (DST) approaches. Since DST provides students opportunities to express their own opinions in the form of stories and to share learning outcomes through the web, we developed and implemented SSI program by adopting the concept of DST in order to produce synergistic effects on student learning. Twenty-four 9th graders who enthusiastically engaged in the DST-based SSI program participated in this study. The students responded to focus group interviews after the instruction, and all interviews were transcribed for analysis. The results indicated that the students became aware of socio-ethical perspectives of each SSI topic while searching and collecting data by themselves. They also felt the necessity to consider multiple perspectives around the issues by having discussions with group members. Second, pre-producing DST allowed students to negotiate to settle on a group discussion, and to use emotional contents that can lead viewers to have sympathy. In addition, while producing DST, students considered various factors such as design, soundtrack, visual effects, and screen composition in order to express their opinions and convey their messages more effectively. In the stage of sharing DST outcomes and receiving feedback, they realized new perspectives that they did not perceive in the previous production process, and to move them into an action for resolving the problems caused by SSI. This study showed the potentials of DST-based SSI instruction as a good strategy to support students' SSI engagement.
