Design of the Mobile Aptitude Test System for People with Disabilities (장애인 직업평가를 위한 모바일 적성검사 시스템의 설계)

  • Vocational rehabilitation is defined as a process which helps people with disabilities to maintain life of non-disabled people and vocational assessment is a part of it. Traditionally, vocational assessment is performed through using of assessment tools or vocational counseling, but assessment tools are very expensive and we should move to the facilities for the disabled. It is very efficient to apply vocational assessment to people with disabilities using the smart phones which users are expected to surpass ten million in 2011, because it enables them to access anytime and anywhere. In this paper, we design and implement the mobile aptitude test system on android smart phone OS for people with disabilities. We develop the mobile aptitude test system using the Holland Test which is the assessment tool of career guidance and counseling.

The Factors Influence upon Job Maintenance of the Mentally Disabled with Job Experience (취업한 정신장애인의 직업유지에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: This study tried to explore factors influencing on job maintenance of the mentally disabled who employed before. The subjects of this study were the mentally disabled who participated in community mental health center and social rehabilitation center, there had experienced a job in the past. Methods: The number of community centers were 27 places, there were located in different region. The number of participants were 221 persons agreed to this study. Data was analyzed by Mean, SD and logistic regression analyzation using SPSS/WIN 14.0. Results: General character such as age was significant factor. Monthly pay and working a day in the midst of job related factors were significant. Moreover, job rehabilitation program satisfaction rate and social support revealed significant factors. Conclusion: On the basis of results, Job rehabilitation programs for job maintenance of the mentally disabled should be development and establish mediate strategies to improve social support to them.

Examining Economic Activities of Disabled People Using Media Big Data: Temporal Trends and Implications for Issue Detection (언론 빅데이터를 이용한 장애인 경제활동 분석: 키워드의 시기별 동향과 이슈 탐지를 위한 시사점)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the statistical usefulness of using atypical text data collected from media that are easy to collect to overcoming limits of the existing data related to economic activities of disabled people. In addition, by performing semantic network analysis, major issues by period that could not be grasped by statistical analysis were also identified. As a result, semantic network analysis revealed that the initiative of the public sector, such as the central and local government bodies, was strongly shown. On the other hand, in the private purchase sector, it was also possible to confirm the consumption revitalization trend and changes in production activities in the recent issue of Covid-19. While the term "priority purchase" had a statistically significant relation with the other two terms "vocational rehabilitation" and "employment for the disabled". For the regression results, while the term "priority purchase" had a statistically significant association with the other two terms "vocational rehabilitation" and "employment for the disabled". Further, some statistical analyses reveal that keyword data taken from media channels can serve as an alternative indicator. Implications for issue detection in the field of welfare economy for the disabled is also discussed.

Traditionally, vocational assessment is performed through using of assessment tools, vocational counseling and so on. It is very efficient to apply vocational assessment to people with disabilities using the internet, but we should provide them with web accessibility. In this paper, we design and implement the aptitude test system for people with visual impairment supporting web accessibility. We develop the aptitude test system using the Holland Test which is the assessment tool of career guidance and counseling. We also show that the aptitude test system for people with visual impairment supports web accessibility more than previous Holland Test which is served in the internet.

Influencing Factors on Rehiring Intentions for Mentally Disabled of Employer with Employment Experience (정신장애인 고용경험이 있는 고용주의 정신장애인 재고용 의사에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that influence employer to rehire the mentally disabled. The participants of survey were 121 of employers' in Busan. Data were analyzed using ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test and logistic regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 18.0. According to this analysis, the results show that employer's rehiring intentions for the mentally disabled is a significantly related to gender, relationship with mental disabled person, industrial classification, experience of disabled employees, period of employment with mentally disabled people, subsidy for employment promotion, employment quota system, benevolence, community mental health ideology. Logistic regression analysis showed that relationship with mental disabled person, industrial classification, experience of disabled employees, period of employment with mentally disabled people, subsidy for employment promotion, employment quota system and benevolence. On the basis of results, program for encouraging employer's intention of rehiring the mentally disabled should be development and establish mediate strategies.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between living satisfaction and income level and expenditure of the Disabled Households' and the mediation role of socioeconomic status in their relationship also the effect of the according to whether they receive basic living or not. The data and sample of total 2,906 households were extracted from the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED) 8th data, and it was analyzed by the SEM(Structural equation model). The study results are as follows. First, Household income is negative effect on Engel and Schwabe Index, Socioeconomic status is positive effect on life satisfaction. and Socioeconomic status is partially mediated in the path between household income and life satisfaction and socioeconomic status full mediates the schwabe index and life satisfaction. Overall, the study results emphasizes the importance of the economic activity for security income of the disabled households, and it discusses about policy directions.

Employers Attitude for Mentally Disabled People (고용주의 정신장애인에 대한 태도조사)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate employer's attitude towards mentally disabled people. Methods: The Lee (1996)'s questionnaire of community people's attitude on perception for mentally disabled people was used to collect data from 208 employers in Busan City. ${\chi}^2$-test and t-test were used to explore related factors of employer's attitude. Results: Employers having experience of hiring physically or mentally disabled people showed higher CAMI scores (p=.002). Especially, employers having experience of hiring mentally disabled people showed higher scores in four components of authoritarianism, benevolence, social restrictiveness, and community mental health ideology than any other groups. In addition, we found differences in employers' attitude on authoritarianism and benevolence according to types of industries and the number of employees. Conclusion: We could suggest that employers experience of employing disabled and mentally disabled people could improve their positive attitude. Therefore, we call for various efforts and programs development to encourage employers to hire mentally disabled people.
