This research analyzes users' cognitive responses to Out-Of-Home advertising content based in virtual environments. Specifically, it distinguishes the depth of advertisements as 2D or 3D and categorizes animation effects of light as a representation of virtuality into 'none', 'blinking', and 'flowing'. For this purpose, virtual reality content was developed, and after experiencing the content while wearing HMD, users' cognitive responses were investigated. Involving 60 participants, the study found that the interaction effects between depth perception and animation effects were not statistically significant, nor was the primary effect of depth perception. However, the main effect of animation showed statistically significant differences in users' attention, vividness, perceived intrusiveness, avoidance tendency, and flow. This study presents design elements that can be utilized in the production of virtual environment-based Out-Of-Home advertising and experimentally demonstrates that animation effects can serve as an effective means of emphasis in virtual environment advertising. These findings provide important insights for the creation and strategic planning of advertisements in virtual environments.
This paper presents a new approach to create 3D visualization from discrete simulation results. This approach connects discrete event simulation directly to 3D animation with its novel methods that analyze and convert discrete simulation results into animation events to trigger 3D animation. In addition, it constructs a 3D animation framework for the visualization of discrete simulation results. This framework supports the reuse of both the existing 3D animation objects and behavior components, and allows the rapid development of new 3D animation objects by users with no special knowledge in computer graphics. This approach has been implemented with the software component technology. As an application in virtual manufacturing, visualizations of an electronics assembly factory are also provided in the paper to demonstrate the performance of this new approach.
As time spent in front of the computer screens increases, an increasing number of people are using natural landscapes or virtual aquariums as their desktop and screen saver that can provide them with mental comfort. A virtual aquarium is constructed by an animation work that creates a variety of fish that freely move in a random virtual underwater environment to analyze their movement. This paper suggests a method that constructs an immersive virtual aquarium, using fluid animation method that expresses changes of shape of fluid in real time and the Smart Fish technology which is capable of an interaction according to the diverse characteristics of virtual fish. The suggested method can be used in a virtual aquarium, aquarium screen saver, virtual fish-raising game, etc., which express diverse undersea environment.

With the development of science and technology, virtual reality (VR) has become increasingly popular, being widely used in various fields such as aviation, education, medical science, culture, art, and entertainment. This technology with great potential has changed the way of human-computer interaction and the way people live and entertain. In the field of animation, virtual reality also brings a new viewing form and immersive experience. The paper demonstrates the production of VR animation and then discusses camera's position in VR animation. Where to place the VR camera to bring a comfortable viewing experience. The paper, with the proxemics as its theoretical framework, proposes the hypothesis about the camera position. Then the hypothesis is verified by a series of experiments in animation to discuss the correlation between camera position and proxemics theory.
Currently, Virtual Reality video content is rapidly increasing in number of users due to the rapid growth of related hardware and software. Accordingly, Virtual Reality animation is also being produced in a new form by rapidly integrating with Virtual Reality technology among video contents. Currently, research on Virtual Reality animation has focused on how films are produced and how they are directed, and no research has been done to organize the pipeline for efficient VR animation production. Therefore, this study drew the characteristics of the pre-render VR animation pipeline by comparing it with the production pipeline of the existing 3D animation to produce the VR animation efficiently. Through this, we presented organic integration of production and post production processes suitable for the production of VR animations and reduced rendering time using Render Pass for efficient production.

The goal of researching a proper crowd animation is to design system that is satisfied with the reality of scenes, performance of system, and interaction with users to show the crowd vividly and effectively in virtual underwater world. In this paper, we smartly expressed the behavior patterns for flocks of fish in virtual underwater and we made up for the weak points in spending time and cost to produce crowd animation. We compared with the number of mesh, the number of fish, the number of frame, elapsed time, and resolution and analyzes them with the fish behavior simulating system. We developed a virtual underwater simulator using this system.
3D character animation grow rapidly with the development of computer graphic technology and software. Nowadays 3D character animation holds a important position in the various industry fields including movie, advertisement, animation, and game. With the rapid growth of computer graphic, real time animation of complex characters as well as high quality rendering, which was impossible before, are now prevailing. What is remarkable in this growth is the appearance of virtual idol. The virtual idol plays a leading role in 3D character animation and has a synergy effect in the field of fancy and theme park industry. The aim of this inquiry is to examine the status of computer graphic skill and media related to the 3D character animation to search out the problems in the fields and to propose the solution of the problems

A hierarchical motion control system for animation of 3D human character is implemented using the motion database in realtime. The proposed motion control system consists of coordination controller for gait timing and balancing of walking motion, joint servo controller for realistic limb movement, and motion database for goal-directed character animation which makes time-consuming animation relatively easy task. As one example among the various applications of the proposed motion control system. We present a simple virtual reality system in which the motion control system plays a central role in generating realistic motion of virtual human character.
The world being made by computers showing great expanses and complex and various expression provides not simply communication places but also a new civilization and a new creative world. Among these, 3D computer graphics, 3D animation and virtual reality technology wore sublimated as a new culture and a new genre of art by joining graphic design and computer engineering. In this study, I tried to make a diagnosis of possibilities, limits and differences of expression in the area of virtual reality computer graphics animation as a comparison between camera action, angle of actual still camera and film camera and virtual software for 3D computer graphics software - Maya, XSI, Softimage3D.

Virtual Reality makes a virtual environment more realistic and, furthermore, it provides a variety of experiences which we cannot have in reality. A drastic growth of GPU performance and increase of computing capability make virtual environment more realistic than ever. One important element of constructing virtual environment is to animate 3D characters. Many researchers have been studying 3D characters animating and a myriad of methods have been proposed to make them more realistic. In this paper, we discuss the technologies and characteristics of 3D character animation. We believe that realistic characters in Virtual Reality will be applied to various fields: education, film and game industry, business and, particularly, medical area such as telemedicine, virtual surgery, etc.
