An Interpretation of Archetypal Form of Byungyoung Castle in Ulsan City

  • The purpose of this study ins to verify the characteristic location of Byungyoung Castle, physical type, inside spatial organization, and the scheme of Byungyoung Castle. The study utilizes historic literature, ancient maps related to Byungyoung Castle, topographical and cadastral maps which were published under the rule of Japanese Imperialism Castle, topographical and cadastral maps which were published under the rule of Japanese Imperialism and the topographical maps which were made recently by National Geographic Institute with various scales. The methodology of the study is to interpret the contents from the historic literature on the site map. The result of the study is as follows; Byungyoung Castle does duty as a defensive base for the entire country and has a specific character of location that has the dual function of a mountain fortress for national defense and of a village fortress for the town. Byungyoung Castle has four gates on four sides and has a oval shape very close to a circular form. The road construction inside the castle is composed basically of a cross shape. Byungyoung is located in the northwest area of this major road system. The private houses that lie along the north-south road are build up at the core area of the lower level and the town market built up around the south gate becomes the heart of life for the people. Schematically, it has the same pattern as regular village fortress, in that the houses for the guests and the houses for the public office are arranged to the east and the west. It is considered that there is certain functional parallel between Byungyoug Castle and Ulsan castle because there are no facilities for sacrificial rites no institutional budding.

  • There are lots of forests around the Korean rural village. This study was conducted to investigate the state of the forests by the 15 forests case study of the Kamgok region in Chon-guk-Do province, Korea. The results are as follows. 1. The forests lose mostly original form by the construction of road and forest clearing for the land development business. And almostly the form of the forests is a trapezoid or roundness. 2. The forests were remained on account of the Korean cemetery customs which is burying underground. 3. The conservation of the forests becomes more difficult because of the continuous development pressure. 4. Because the scale of the forests is so small, they aren't named as the natural resort forest by the forest law. So it will be the better alternative that they are conserved and used by inducing the concept of the village resort forest. 5. Because the owenership of the forests exists in a person or a family, the forests will be destructed continuously by the cemetery development. 6. The vegetation of the upper trees in the forests is the simple forests of Pinus densiflora, Pinus rigida and bamboo. The height of upper tree is average 10-12m. And average root diameter is 13-29cm. The age of the tree is average 50 years old. The state of the forests is mostly fine. 7. It is clarified that the price of the forest land is 3-5 times expensive than the other cultivated land. 8. The forests were made by the forefathers for the purpose of the practical use and were reforested in the era 1960s, 1970s.

  • This paper aims to clarify the spatial form and functional characteries of traditional market place in Seomjin river. The objects of this study are Gokseong, Gurye, Soonchang, and Okgok market place. The results are as follows. First, the form of the traditional market that it was open focusing on large open space of a village was maintained until now. Second, the spatial form of a market place surrounds market-shop located at the center of a market, and a permanent market-store is located in a line. Spatial element important for constituting a market place is three, market-shop, stall, and the mall of market place, and each spatial element is functioning in linkage. The unit space of market-shop is mainly determined by between pillars, and a store is opened. And the same type of industry adjoins, and market-shop's forms a fixed domain and is distributed. The stall is located with many kinds and forms at street mall, and it is taking charge of the important function of trade.

  • The food culture reflects the unique characteristics of the locality and the lifestyle and values of its members. So It is one of the most revealing elements of local identity. Such a food culture has an intangible form, such as memories and customs related to food, and is an area that is likely to disappear if not recorded and preserved. Based on the study of domestic and foreign cases, documentation was carried out in this study. In addition, we sought ways to manage and utilize the collected and produced records. Therefore, we suggested the method of documenting the local food culture, along with proposed managing the cultural resources of the recorded region and utilizing it in the academic and cultural aspects.

High Utilization of Photovoltaic Power System in Rural Green Village Location Analysis and Evaluation using GIS - With Chubumyeon, Keumsan, Chungnam province - (GIS를 이용한 태양광 발전시스템의 활용도 높은 농촌 그린빌리지 적정입지 평가 - 충청남도 금산군 추부면을 중심으로 -)

  • The composition of rural Green Village requires higher utilization of renewable energy in those selected rural villages. The purpose of this study is to select the best results of rural green villages when using photovoltaic power system(PV system). 10 different rural villages in Chubumyeon, Keumsan, Chungnam province, were selected as study villages. This study shows measured solar radiation data, a 20-year time series data, and GIS spatial analysis; and whose were used to predict the photovoltaic power generation. PV system is used as a form with capacity of 3kWp to use for personal and public houses. Generation data was calculated by the town, where the economics of the Green Village location analysis was performed; and the solar radiation's correction factor was calculated by the 20-year time series data and measured data by study villages. By applying to the data of DEM, slope and aspect of the study villages were found, therefore performed. Spatial analysis tools were performed by using solar radiation map's tools. Those data found were used to calculate the average needed energy every months. When used the properly calculated data, towns performed economical energy consumption in rural Green Village. Every study villages have showed very high potential for PV system. Sungdangri ranked at the first (7,401kWp/year), Jangdaeri follows behind to the second (7,203kWp/year) and Yogwangri at third (7,89kWp/year) which shows higher developed energy than other study villages. The areas covered of these three towns are as follows: Sungdangri at $33,300m^2$, Jangdaeri covers $18,000m^2$ and Yogwangri shows $46,800m^2$. With these results, analyzing the potentials using GIS spatial analysis before installation of PV system was possible. Also different villages and topography in study villages have showed various results by the area. For convenience and to shorten research time, it is possible and enough to use solar radiation tools when studying spatial analysis of solar radiation.

Influence of Satisfaction Factors of Traditional Village Visitor on Whole Satisfaction and Behavior Intention -Focusing on Oeam Maul in Asan- (전통마을 방문객 만족요인이 전반적 만족도와 행동의도에 미치는 영향 -아산 외암 마을을 대상으로-)

  • A traditional house or a traditional village experience has been on the rise as a form of experiential cultural tourism. But the Oeam folk village, a experiential cultural tourist destination representing Chungcheng-do seems to confront the stagnancy in the part of growth. It has to grow in two sides of quantity and quality. On the ground of this critical mind, 3 assumptions were established after analyzing previous studies. Additionally, market segmentation using satisfaction factors was practiced. In order to verify assumptions, A questionnaire was made and a survey was practiced. Out of statistic analyses, cluster analysis was practiced to do market segmentation targeting people who visit Oeam folk village and regression analysis to verify established assumptions. The assumption 1 was adopted that satisfaction factors influence whole satisfaction. The assumption 2 was partly adopted that satisfaction factors(sightseeing efficiency, sightseeing convenience, traditional house and experience factor) except food and souvenir factor influence behavior intention. The assumption 3 was adopted that whole satisfaction influences behavior intention. These were similar with the results of previous studies. As the result of cluster analysis to confirm the difference of demographic characteristics according to the market, 2 clusters was classified and classified clusters showed the difference of demographic characteristics.

A Study on Evaluation of the Rurality by the Distance of View (조망거리에 따른 농촌경관의 농촌다움 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Improve the rural views of the Government and the municipalities with the intention of rural landscape planning. However, rural scenery evaluation of landscape types and element categories, landscape scenes, such as the valuation of resources selected, form a coherent system and ecological point of view is not only a Visual perspective of evaluation, or evaluation is made. This study evaluates the rural landscape through the rural landscape for rurality is implemented can explain the image. Rural amenity 100 represented the rural landscape in rurality with photos of photos, and scenes, photos, location-based rural Vista rurality landscapes drawn components. Selected landscape photography scenic landscapes in the u.s. survey and image vocabularies through surveys is representative of the landscape in rurality of each Vista location-specific photos and images began extracted factors. As a result, the Distant view is a town and village in the rolling hills of the surrounding environment is an image behind the Vista Skyline, Farmland Rural village forests, Behind the hills, Individual housing roof, Housing arrangement, The number of household includes landscape components. Factor analysis 'openness', 'intimacy', 'activity', 'complexity', 'safety' was down to five factors, such as a description of the overall factors that force was 66.45 percent. Middle distance view is close to being out of town houses and village environment, an image in the skyline hills Vista, farmlands, village forests, rolling hills, behind the scenes of the housing component of the neck, the sperm will honor an individual factor analysis results are 'intimacy', 'safety', 'openness', 'specificity', 'complexity' five factors the whole description of the capacity factors compared to 67.24 percent.   • The purpose of this study is to examine the academic genealogy of Hong Chan-yoo. Hong Chan-yoo was born in Majeon, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, and started to learn writing at the village school. Around 20 years old, he widened his scope of academic study. This study is a part of Hong Chan-yoo's life. It reviews the relationship between Hong Chan-yoo and Jeong Byeong-jo, Lim Gyu, Jung In-boh, Lim Heung-soon and Kim Tae-sun whom he met at the hometown village school and Mijwa village school, and afterwards going up to the capital since his birth. In particular, the emphasis of this study is on examining the teachers of Mijwa and Mijwa village school because it is an important factor in clarifying the line of Hong Chan-yoo's studies. Mijwa village school confirmed that the academic genealogy of Majeon was the line of Misu Huh Mok. Next, from the activities after going up to the capital, it revealed that encountering Jung In-boh and Lim Gyu affected expanding the scope of study and facing reality without being bound to the former form. It was found that meeting Lim Heung-soon and Kim Tae-sun around Bongik-dong became the opportunity to enter the field but it needs to be reviewed more closely.

A Study on the Method of Rural Rental Housing Management by Analysis of Rural-Fishing New Town Rental Housing (농어촌 뉴타운 공공임대주택 관리 분석을 통한 농촌형 임대주택 관리방안에 관한 연구)

  • Recently as return farmers has been increased rapidly, the introduction of a system of rental housing is being considerated in order to induce regional fixation. It was examined organizational management, business scope of rural type rental housing, management role, through the analysis about the management realities of the business of similar form Rural-Fishing New Town project. Jangseonggun and Hwasungun have maneged rental housing 280ho in Rural-Fishing New Town project. It is large village among Rural Rental Housing. And these counties have organized the complex on a large scale among the rental housing. Local governments have managed and operated directly, also these governments have two different methods for the co-management, and the way of making payment. Rental housing management services are divided into rental management, housing management, tenant management. Rental management services such as residents of recruitment, tenants and retreat, rent collection and the storage, management and leasing promotion of the cantilever, surveys of residents. Housing management services such as check of various facilities, maintenance and maintenance work, security and cleaning and daily facility management. Tenant management is life management in connection with housing welfare. In the rural type of rental housing, there are few cases to operate a management office. It is often supplied by rental housing to buy a house or vacant land within the existing village. In this case, by utilizing community facilities within the existing village instead of establishment of extra facilities,It doesn't need to make payment for maintenance fee. In the smaller complex than No. 20, it is self-managed by the tenants in order to reduce the administrative costs and specify the necessary municipal manager. Organization form can be maneged directly from local governments and part of for the management of the building can be employed a mixed management system to delegate management to private organizations such as non-profit organizations or neighborhood association. Tenant management helps people who move in a rental house live on stable circumstance in there area by connection with the program of life support.

A Study On the Process of the Urban Form in Wonsan Concession (원산거류지(元山居留地)의 도시공간(都市空間)의 형성과정(形成過程)에 관한 고찰(考察))

  • This paper is one of Korean towns in the period of Korean-Modern, which play an important role in shaping the present cities of Korea. In the concrete, this study deals with the urban form of the Japanese Concession at Womsan where is the second Open Port in Korea. By the way, both of the Open Port and the Concession were the town that not exist before the period of Korean-Modern, and the town that symbolize the historical characters of the period of Korean-Modern. On this study, it is intended to analyze the situations of establishment, the process of the urban form, and the meanings of Concession, from 1880 to 1910, the period when had been kept up the nature of the Concession mainly. The Japanese Concession at Wonsan was urged it's establishment by Japan Government that is conscious of the purpose of foreign trade and military importance. But, it was slow in progress of developing town because of the distance from the capital 'Han Yang', today we called it Seoul, and lack of the background towns. However, after both the wars of 1895 and 1904, Japanese residents were incresed and urban aspects were advanced. The urban form of Japanese Concession was devided two territories by the natural circumstances, so that was made a difference on the period of the development. And finally, it had double axis on the form of district. Furthermore, by increasing of residence, it was occured that new Japanese resident arwa was occupied and expanded illegally between the road which is toward the existing Korean village 'Womsan-Jin(元山津)'. This indeed is the illegal extension of the Japanese Concession at Wonsan. Conclusively, Concession fumed out the primary factor that Korean towns are altered with the heterogeneous ones in the period of Korean-Modern.
