  • is a mobile application based SNS video platform that launched its service in China in 2016. At the beginning of the service, TikTok is a music video content platform, and later, it evolved into a social platform that provides a wide variety of contents, and the process of creating, producing, and editing videos was easily provided. Since started its service, it has analyzed various social phenomena that have appeared to young people and the types and characteristics of video content popular in this app. The demand for vertical video content in the form of short clip is on the rise rapidly, which can be expected to improve the quality of video content in accordance with the development of mobile-based imaging technology. Useful for mobile based on the creative video producers through this study data are to be used to.

  • Video indexing plays an important role in the applications such as digital video libraries or web VOD which archive large volume of digital videos. Video indexing is usually based on video segmentation. In this paper, we propose a software tool called V2Web Studio which can generate video clips utilizing shot boundary detection algorithm. With the V2Web Studio, the process of clip generation consists of the following four steps: 1) Automatic detection of shot boundaries by parsing the video, 2) Elimination of errors by manually verifying the results of the detection, 3) Building a modeling structure of logical hierarchy using the verified shots, and 4) Generating multiple video clips corresponding to each logically modeled segment. The aforementioned steps are performed by shot detector, shot verifier, video modeler and clip generator in the V2Web Studio respectively.

  • Sports video is a very critical information resource. High-precision extraction of effective segments in sports video can better assist coaches in analyzing the player's actions in the video, and enable users to more intuitively appreciate the player's hitting action. Aiming at the shortcomings of the current sports video clip extraction results, such as strong subjectivity, large workload and low efficiency, a classification method of sports video clips based on MobileNetV3 is proposed to save user time. Experiments evaluate the effectiveness of effective segment extraction. Among the extracted segments, the effective proportion is 97.0%, indicating that the effective segment extraction results are good, and it can lay the foundation for the construction of the subsequent badminton action metadata video dataset.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the causes of pre-roll ads played before watching online video contents, and to investigate the using motives by dividing them into broadcasting contents clips and web original contents. The results show that broadcast contents clips have higher use of entertainment/habitual use and social interaction, and that the use time of web content is higher when entertainment/convenience and selective use motivation are higher. Second, perceived invasion has the greatest effect on ad avoidance in broadcasting contents clip, and positive attitude toward advertisement is a significant factor in web contents. Content factors such as content preference and engagement did not affect the avoidance of pre-roll ad.

  • Objective : Although studies have explored responses to fear had been assessed using various psychophysiological methods, results have been inconsistent. The present study examined psychophysiological responses in healthy subjects after viewing fear stimuli in a video clip for set up future fear related psychophysiological studies. Methods : We monitored three psychophysiological variables (electroencephalography, skin temperature, and heart rate variability) in adults who watched either a control stimulus movie clip or a fear-inducing movie clip. Results : In 16 healthy adults, theta activity decreased significantly after the fear stimulus as compared to the normal stimulus. However the participants showed no differences in heart rate variability or skin temperature between the fear and normal control stimulus situations. Conclusion : In the limbic area, theta activity corresponds with information processing, integration into previous memories and long-term potentiation. In this study, we suggest decreased theta activity represents amygdalo-hippocampal activity, associated with fear, short-term memory, and memory extinction in the healthy adults. Further studies are needed to evaluate the interaction of fear, memory, and the pathophysiology of anxiety disorder in patient with anxiety disorders.

  • In this paper, we investigate video representation techniques that are the foundational work for the subsequent video processing such as video storage and retrieval. A video data set if a collection of video clips, each of which is a sequence of video frames and is represented by a multidimensional data sequence (MDS). An MDS is partitioned into video segments considering temporal relationship among frames, and then similar segments of the clip are grouped into video clusters. Thus, the video clip is represented by a small number of video clusters. The video segmentation and clustering algorithm, VDCluster, proposed in this paper guarantee clustering quality to south an extent that satisfies predefined conditions. The experiments show that our algorithm performs very effectively with respect to various video data sets.

  • In this paper, a service system which shows linked video clips from the static images extracted from newspapers, magazines, photo albums and etc in an augmented reality. First, the system uses SURF algorithm to extract features from the original photos printed in the media and stores them with the linked video clips. Next, when a photo is taken by using a camera from mobile devices such as smart phones, the system extracts features in real time, search a linked video clip matching the original image, and shows it on the smart phone in an augmented reality. The proposed system is applied to Android smart phone devices and the test results verify that the proposed system operates not only on normal photos but also on partially damaged photos.

  • This paper presents subjective experimental results to understand how audio should be changed when a video clip is watched in 3D than 2D. This paper divided auditory perceptual information into two categories; distance and azimuth that a sound source contributes mostly, and spaciousness that scene or environment contribute mostly. According to the experiment for distance and azimuth, i.e. sound localization, we found that distance and azimuth of sound sources were magnified when heard with 3D than 2D video. This lead us to conclude 3D sound for localization should be designed to have more distance and azimuth than 2D sound. Also we found 3D sound are preferred to be played with not only 3D video clip but also 2D video clip. According to the experiment for spaciousness, we found people prefer sound with more reverberation when they watch 3D video clips than 2D video clips. This can be understood that 3D video provides more spacial information than 2D video. Those subjective experimental results can help audio engineer familiar with 2D audio to create 3D audio, and be fundamental information of future research to make 2D to 3D audio conversion system. Furthermore when designing 3D broadcasting system with limited bandwidth and with 2D TV supportive, we propose to consider transmitting stereoscopic video, audio with enhanced localization, and metadata for TV sets to generate reverberation for spaciousness.

  • This paper presents a new approach for detecting abnormal behaviors in complex surveillance scenes where anomalies are subtle and difficult to distinguish due to the intricate correlations among multiple objects' behaviors. Specifically, a cascaded probabilistic topic model was put forward for learning the spatial context of local behavior and the temporal context of global behavior in two different stages. In the first stage of topic modeling, unlike the existing approaches using either optical flows or complete trajectories, spatio-temporal correlations between the trajectory fragments in video clips were modeled by the latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) topic model based on Markov random fields to obtain the spatial context of local behavior in each video clip. The local behavior topic categories were then obtained by exploiting the spectral clustering algorithm. Based on the construction of a dictionary through the process of local behavior topic clustering, the second phase of the LDA topic model learns the correlations of global behaviors and temporal context. In particular, an abnormal behavior recognition method was developed based on the learned spatio-temporal context of behaviors. The specific identification method adopts a top-down strategy and consists of two stages: anomaly recognition of video clip and anomalous behavior recognition within each video clip. Evaluation was performed using the validity of spatio-temporal context learning for local behavior topics and abnormal behavior recognition. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed approach in abnormal behavior recognition improved effectively and significantly in complex surveillance scenes.

  • The purpose of this study is to search shot clip' using variables influencing on the VOD purchase intention and watching intention of real-time broadcasting. This research focused on usage motivation, usage experience such as use time, time of utilization, genre, utilization pattern. Controlling demographic factors, results show that personal relation, benefit against whole broadcast, education genre, watching video, video sharing and recommendation were statistically influential to VOD purchase intention. And, results show that flexibility of use, drama/movie genre, read and write comments were statistically influential to watching intention of real-time broadcasting.
