  • This study deals with apartments, the representative form of residence in Korea, and analyzes the residential plane of 30-pyong apartments that are constructed by the 5 construction companies within in the past three years. It is discovered that these apartments show a certain form and that developing the frame work of interior elements according to the characteristics of family types of 30-pyong apartment residents and the process for such a frame work are needed. Therefore, by analyzing the differences of residential forms according to resident types, this investigation tries to approach the design centering around users. To summarize the steps and contents of this study, first, it draws the understanding and the study field of common residential space, second, it shows the characteristics of family types within residential space, third, it analyzes and verifies the differences of characteristics according to family types within the representative size and form of plane. This investigation is aimed to provide the reasons for developing different planes according to family types despite they may be of the same size, to show the frame of the study method for developing the plane design and the interior element design for users and to suggest the way of designing residence in a conditional approach applying the conditions of users within common residential space.

  • All art forms are the results of the artist's response to the philosophical, sociological, and cultural tendencies of the period in which the artist lives. Post-modern period differentiates itself from Modern period in many aspects. One of these is the emphasis on phenomena which are ephemeral and changing. This paper looks at the perceptive and cognitive bases of these expressions of change in space design and their affordances on human behavior The first chapter provides the purpose and the background of the research. It studies the philosophical, sociological and cultural characteristics of the Post-modern era which bring forth expressions of time & change in space design. The second chapter explains two basic approaches which can be applied to the perception and cognition of the environment. The third chapter deals with the perceptional and cognitive bases, and the human affordances of the expressions of change in space design. Finally this paper will analyze the types of space design which show this tendency : change by the technology, change by the participation of viewers, and change by the natural and chance. In each type, there will be analyses of examples. this will lead us to the understanding of how the space design including time & change expresses the spirit of the age and how it can play positive roles in human psychology.

  • In this paper, as a previous step of software development, through an analysis step in the basic design process of the FPSO crane, ERD, which could help develop common understanding between its developer and the user, was introduced. From the flowchart of the design process, the overall work flow in its development was understood. Then, after the design process of the crane was divided into many entities, the attributes of each entity were defined and the relationships between the entities were established, followed by ERD creation through the use of IDEF1X notation. The results of the analysis can be readily understood even by users who lack of software knowledge, and then their change requirements can be immediately reflected in the developed system that requires modification.

  • The overall trend of the contemporary society which is characterized by the variety and de-unification shows many that object to the language system of the structuralism. The typical characteristics of deconstruction in contemporary architecture and products are deconstruction of meanings, deconstructuralism of he form by the use of material, new material, deconstruction of metaphor and way of expression, deconstruction of proportion and deconstruction of ideas. The design elements of the deconstruction are re-defying the function, changing shapes, the structures, metaphors, dening of the golden proportions and the emphasizing the kitsch elements. From the various style, the kitsch style is a phenomenon that comes from the way of representing emotion, inspiration, understanding of the popularity, and the authority of consumers for choice.

  • "Sustainability" and buzzword as in many areas of products produced and studies in progress, in situations of domestic "green fashion" of the Progress and identify problems and advanced in value sustained growth that can be done fashion design, the future of the gauge view there is need. For the purpose of environmental protection and resource conservation of the eco-fashion trend, "recycling" of the low-growth, emphasizing the ethical responsibility to pursue by the aesthetics may be limited in terms of avoided. Environment, most notably an "issue" fashion emerged as a growing, destroying a temporary fashion trend as a "recycling" of the limitations and pro-technology and design of the added value of recombinant and advanced recycling design trends, attracting attention "upcycle" Case of the aesthetic value and spiritual value of the designer by giving understanding and a new aesthetic values to the area you want to raise the possibility of extension.

  • The designer has difficulty due to inadequacy of provisions in the domestic design code and lack of understanding for behavior of D-region. The reinforced concrete pi(${\pi}$)-shaped RC rahmen bridge consists of various failure mechanisms as the crushing or splitting from compression concrete, and shearing failure under the loading plate. However, predicting those failure mechanisms is very difficult. In this study, the pi(${\pi}$)-shaped RC rahmen bridge is analyzed and designed by using strut-tie model. Adequacy for the application of strut-tie model is verified by comparison with the way used in current design practice. As a result that designing the structures should be maked a comparison between strut-tie model and current conventional design method.

  • The performance of a concrete is significantly influenced by its mixture proportion and the coating thickness on aggregate surface. The concrete in this study is designed by estimating the blending ratio of aggregate using a densified mixture design algorithm (DMDA) based on an ideal grading curve and estimating the paste volume as the sum of the amount of paste needed to provide an assigned coating paste thickness. So as to obtain appropriate concrete amount, and thus can accurately estimate the property of concrete. Deduction of this mix design formula is simple and easy understanding, and meanwhile to obtain result is fast. This estimation model of mix design is expected to reward to industry and effectively upgrade concrete quality.

  • In multiphase systems, surface wettability is one of dominant design parameters to enhance system performance. Since surface wettability can be maximized and minimized with micro-textured surfaces, therefore micro-textured surfaces are widely countered in various research and engineering fields. In this study, for better understanding of micrometer scaled surface wettability, spreading phenomena is experimentally investigated on the hydrophilic micro-textured surfaces. By photolithography and conventional dry etching method, there are prepared the surfaces with uniformly arrayed micro-pillars. The interfacial motions of a water droplet on the test sections are visualized by high speed camera in top view. On the basis of visualization data, it is analyzed the relation between dynamic coefficient and geometrical features on micro-textured surfaces.

  • The performing art represents joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure through acting and dance, and is told to be a composite art represented by make-up, setting, costume and props. Therefore, it can be said that make-up is an important medium of stage art. Make-up in stage art is a kind of communication with audiences through understanding personalities of characters as demanded by scenarios. Due to the creative stage make-up which meets the character in the play relevant to these contents of the play, the conceptual study on stage make-up design for visual expression coincide with the intended character is needed. In this study, I investigate theoretical, universal, and psychological personality types by analyzing basic appearance features based on the physiognomy(face-reading) related from the psychological theories. And visualized through illustration according to personality types to apply for the characters in the play.

  • Recently the coffee industries rapidly grow as people's dietary life changes and quality of life improves. Proliferation of coffeehouses let people cognize them as cultural spaces not only mere spaces for drinking coffee beverages. Therefore, distinguished strategy for space design became the one of the most important factor for customers' decision-making. This study analysed the strategies for space design by the brands of coffeehouses, and focused on understanding how those strategies cognized by customers and how they affect customers' level of satisfaction and intention of revisitation. The result of analysis showed that the level of satisfaction was raised when customers cognized unique strategies by brands and the intention of revisitation was raised when the level of satisfaction and reflection of strategy were high. In other words, setting and applying unique strategies by brands are to raise up level of satisfaction and intention of revisitation. The result of study could be used for the basic data on designing coffeehouses attracting customers' revisitation. Also, it could be the basis for effective strategy for customers.
