The Implementation on the Traffic Signal Control Equipment of Intelligence Type Using the PLC (PLC를 사용한 지능형 교통 신호 제어 설비 구현)

  • It is not good joint that today's traffic control system that the course of traffic volume increase tendency is followed, in the traffic volume is approched into the time of my car. Accordingly when we analyzed the existing traffic signal control system, the traffic signal system is developed from the machine type that the motor was centered, to get up to date, to the intelligence electron signal control system. But yet, when we have a test and a A/S on the control circuit, the circuit that is designed to the center IC and ROM are complicated. Also, the time of pass lamp that the car line stream is going, can not extended automatically a time till the traffic volume is decreased to the same direction. This theme must be a real time intelligence control system that the time of pass lamp can extend aumatically. The circuit of sequence ladder diagram on the traffic signal control of a crossroads that is desinged, can be satisfied the complicated vehicle order. Therefore when the circuit is changed, the new developed system is economical with that dosen't needs any of components to require the circuit equipment, and the time is saved with needlessness of the circuit wiring again, and have a much trustworthy. The control method of pass signal lamp in the car line stream connecting among PLC and Relay and Temp Sensor, can be changed to hand operation and to semi-automation and to all-automation. New intelligence traffic signal system is composed with all-together system of T Sensor + Video Camera + IBM PC that is able to guiding the establishment of traffic order.

  • In this study, SMPS driven LED traffic signal light for Large-scale traffic such as railroad and airport was designed and its electrical and EMI characteristics were measured. The output current of the LED module driven by SMPS was 1.67A for AC and DC input voltage over 10V. The conducted emission measured over 0.15~30MHz frequency range was lower than the allowed quasi-peak and average level, and the radiated noise measured over 30~1000MHz frequency range showed $23.96dB{\mu}V/m$ at 59.96MHz.

  • In the area of e-learning education, SCORM2004 that is suggested by ADL and is a defacto standard allows to design and apply various interrelations among learning objects which organize learning process through consolidating IMS Simple Sequencing into S&N. In this paper, we intend to realize a web_based adaptive learning management that enable to guide experientially the learning activity through the SCORM 2004 S&N and the Traffic-Signal-Lamp Metaphor. This adaptive system allows professor to design the learning courseware realizing various learning strategies to be able to reuse same learning contents and student to be leaded a adaptive learning through being supplied immediately the state and evaluation of learning.

  • Currently the indication method of the traffic signal light which is established in our country displays each "red, yellow, green" using the brightness LED signal light. In this paper, one LED circular arrangement replaces the Current indication method of the traffic signal light using two color LED. Also the blinking signal function of present time uses the MCU of AVR series and it is embodied with magnification and abridgment of the circular arrangement for recognizing easily far away. The signal light indication method which is proposed will be able to substitute the signal light of 3 colors with 1 signal light with economic profit presented the reform measure of energy efficiency improvement together.

  • Instead of the incandescent lamps the LED lamps have been used on the traffic signal lamp with the advantages of small loss, no lens and long life. In this paper, we have compared three kinds of the LED controller structures and showed the LED array decision methods. We studied the temperature characteristics on LED and the temperature compensation network. The experimental results showed that the electrical characteristics of three kinds of the LED controller structures were different each other. We concluded that the temperature compensation is the important technique, the best compensation network has the ${\pm}10%$ variation for the luminous intensity.

  • In this paper, LED traffic signal lamp's operating circuit using Flyback converter and PFC IC has been presented. Most power conversion circuits use PFC IC for Power Factor Correction. The design parameter's value of Flyback converter has been proposed and the error amplifier which regulates the output voltage has been designed Besides, the under voltage protection circuit and the over voltage protection circuit for protecting the operating circuit kin unbalance of common electric power source and the temperature compensation circuit for fixed optical output power have been proposed.

Precedence Analysis of Traffic Safety Facilities Installation for Traffic Accidents (교통안전시설 설치의 교통사고 발생에 대한 선행성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the precedence analysis of traffic safety facilities installation for traffic accidents. The main results were as follows. First, the precedence of the number of traffic safety signs installation for the number of traffic accident is follows. The number of traffic safety signs[total number] (time precedent 1), the number of traffic safety signs[attention] (time precedent 7), the number of traffic safety signs[regulation] (time precedent 7), the number of traffic safety signs[indication] (time precedent 4) precede the number of traffic accidents as negative(-) relationship. Second, the number of traffic signal equipments[pedestrian lamp] (time precedent 2) precedes the number of traffic accidents as negative(-) relationship. Third, the precedence of the increase/decrease rate of traffic safety facilities installation for the increase/decrease rate of traffic accident is follows. The increase/decrease rate of traffic safety signs[total number] (time precedent 1), the increase/decrease rate of traffic safety signs[attention] (time precedent 1), the increase/decrease rate of traffic safety signs[indication] (time precedent 1), the increase/decrease rate of traffic safety signs[auxiliary] (time precedent 1) precede the increase/decrease rate of traffic accidents as negative(-) relationship. Fourth, the increase/decrease rate of traffic signal equipments[pedestrian lamp] (time precedent 0) accompanies the increase/decrease rate of traffic accidents as positive (+) relationship.

Vibration Control of Lamp posts On Bridge using Tuned Mass Dampers (동조질량감쇠기를 이용한 교량 가로등의 진동제어)

  • Long span, high-rise bridges are rapidly increasing nowadays. Because of high flexibility, such bridges are easily excited by winds, vehicles, and pedestrians. The vibration of bridge induces a vibration of lamp post and pillar. Wind loads can also excite lamp posts and traffic signal structures directly. Because of low damping, such vibrations of lamp post are frequently amplified and come to collapse or lamp failure. In addition, such vibration makes the maintenance cycle shorter and increases social cost. We conducted vibration tests and identified the dynamic characteristics of two types lamp posts, and proposed tuned mass dampers to control the vibrations. Established models of the lamp posts present the dynamic characteristics of the structures very well and they are used to design TMDs. In this study, we suggested a new-type TMD model that is small, simple, economic and effective to suppress the vibration of lamp posts. The efficiency of TMD was examined by numerically and is to be examined experimentally.

  • Humans and various devices are interconnected using the Internet of Things and are used in various ways. In this study, a synchronization control system with remote locations was constructed using ICT, and a signal system for pedestrians was implemented using the system. PLC circuits were used to implement controllers, through which wireless control signal transmission and reception, LED lamp emission control, and power control were performed. It was confirmed that signal synchronization from the main controller to the remote sub-controller was possible by establishing a controller and pedestrian traffic light system, and lamp signal synchronization of the pedestrian traffic light system installed on both sides of the road was implemented. As a result, it was confirmed that 1:1 remote control or 1:N remote group control was possible, and this result can be used in various fields.

  • In this study, SMPS to drive LED traffic signal light for the railroad and airport was designed and its electrical characteristics was measured. The output voltage, output current and its power efficiencies to the input voltage 8~12VAC and 8~16VDC were 6VDC, 1.85ADC and >70%, respectively. Also the power factors of the SMPS were above 0.75 in the AC input voltage range.
