  • In this work, the effect of sputtering working pressure for the tellurium film and its thin-film transistor was investigated. The transfer characteristics of tellurium thin-film transistors were improved by increasing the working pressure during sputtering process. As increasing working pressure, physical and optical properties of Te films such as crystallinity, transmittance, and surface roughness were improved. Therefore, the improved transfer characteristics of Te thin-film transistors may originate from both improved interface properties between the silicon oxide gate dielectric layer and the tellurium active layer with an improved quality of Te film. In conclusion, the control of working pressure during sputtering would be important for obtaining high-performance tellurium-based thin film transistor

  • We present a formation technique of thin film heater for heat transfer components. Thin film structures of Cr-Si have been prepared on top of alumina substrates by magnetron sputtering. More samples of Mo thin films were prepared on silicon oxide and silicon nitride substrates by electron beam evaporation technology. The electrical properties of the thin film structures were measured up to the temperature of $500^{\circ}C$. The thickness of the thin films was ranged to about 1 um, and a post annealing up to $900^{\circ}C$ was carried out to achieve more reliable film structures. In measurements of temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR), chrome-rich films show the metallic properties; whereas silicon-rich films do the semiconductor properties. Optimal composition between Cr and Si was obtained as 1 : 2, and there is 20% change or less of surface resistance from room temperature to $500^{\circ}C$. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) were used for the material analysis of the thin films.

  • Recently, Thin-film transistors (TFTs) are fundamental building blocks for state-of-the-art microelectronics, such as flat-panel displays and system-on-glass. Zinc oxide thin films have the advantage that they can grow at low temperature and can obtain high charge movility. Also the zinc oxide thin film can be used to control the resistance according to the oxygen content, so it is very easy to obtain the desired physical properties. In this paper, we fabricated a zinc oxide thin film on a polished copper substrate through a solution process, then improved the crystallinity through a geat treatment porcess, and studied to transfer it on a flexible substrate after the heat treatment was completed.

  • A mathematical model of the hydrodynamic and heat transfer performances of two-phase flow (gas-liquid) in thin film region of micro channel is proposed. For the formulation of modeling, the flow of the vapor phase and the shear stress at the liquid-vapor interface are considered. In this work, disjoining pressure and capillary force which drive the liquid flow at the liquid-vapor interface in thin film region are adopted also. Using the model, the effects of the variations of channel height and heat flux on the flow and heat transfer characteristics are investigated. Results show that the influence of variation of vapor pressure on the liquid film flow is not negligible. The heat flux in thin-film region is the most important operation factor of micro cooler system.

  • In this paper, polycrystalline silicon thin film transistor using by Solid Phase Crystallization(SPC) were fabricated, and these devices were measured and analyzed the electrical output and transfer characteristics along to DC voltage stress. The transfer characteristics of polycrystalline silicon thin film transistor depended on drain and gate voltages. Threshold voltage is high with long channel length and narrow channel width. And output characteristics of polycrystalline silicon thin film transistor flowed abruptly much higher drain current. The devices induced electrical stress are decreased drain current. At last, field effect mobility is the faster as channel length is high and channel width is narrow.

  • To obtain the transistor with ambipolar transfer characteristics, IGZO/SiOC thin film transistor was prepared on SiOC with various polarities as a gate insulator. The interface between a channel and insulator showed the Ohmic and Schottky contacts in the bias field of -5V ~ +5V. These contact characteristics depended on the polarities of SiOC gate insulators. The transfer characteristics of TFTs were observed the Ohmic contact on SiOC with polarity, but Schottky contact on SiOC with low polarity. The IGZO/SiOC thin film transistor with a Schottky contact in a short range bias electric field exhibited ambipolar transfer characteristics, but that with Ohmic contact in a short range electric field showed unipolar characteristics by the trapping phenomenon due to the trapped ionized defect formation.

  • A computational investigation is conducted on free convection from a thin plate having a surface heat source. The thermal configuration simulates the recently-proposed transparent film heater made of a single-walled carbon nanotube film on a glass substrate. The Navier-Stokes computations are carried out to study laminar free convection from the heater. Parallel numerical experiments are performed by using a simplified design analysis model which solve the conduction equation with the boundary conditions utilizing several existing correlations for convective heat transfer coefficient. Comparison leads to the most suitable boundary condition for the thermal model to evaluate the performance evaluation of a transparent thin-film heater.

  • MoO3 metal oxide nanostructure was formed by hydrothermal synthesis, and a perovskite solar cell with an MoO3 hole transfer layer was fabricated and evaluated. The characteristics of the MoO3 thin film were analyzed according to the change of hydrothermal synthesis temperature in the range of 100 ℃ to 200 ℃ and mass ratio of AMT : nitric acid of 1 : 3 ~ 15 wt%. The influence on the photoelectric conversion efficiency of the solar cell was evaluated. Nanorod-shaped MoO3 thin films were formed in the temperature range of 150 ℃ to 200 ℃, and the chemical bonding and crystal structure of the thin films were analyzed. As the amount of nitric acid added increased, the thickness of the thin film decreased. As the thickness of the hole transfer layer decreased, the photoelectric conversion efficiency of the perovskite solar cell improved. The maximum photoelectric conversion efficiency of the perovskite solar cell having an MoO3 thin film was 4.69 % when the conditions of hydrothermal synthesis were 150 ℃ and mass ratio of AMT : nitric acid of 1 : 12 wt%.
