  • The teacher is considered the cornerstone of the educational process; the quality of education is linked mainly to teachers who perform such a necessary process. The shift in pedagogical thinking has led to progress in looking at the teacher's roles; he is no longer transferring knowledge to learners, but instead, he has become a mentor, a mediator, a planner, an intellect, and a leader. If we analyze these missions from the perspective of mental habits, we will see that they require the teacher to develop the skills of perseverance, listening comprehension, thinking flexibly, controlling emotions, self-confidence, communication skills, and other essential skills. The current research verifies the effectiveness of an instructional program based on web quests in developing habits of the mind of English language students. The study employed a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 46 male students representing two classes. They were assigned randomly into an experimental group (n=24) and a control group (n=22). They were undergraduate students majoring in the English language. The findings showed a statistically significant difference in the mean scores of the experimental and control groups favoring the experimental group. The study concludes with some recommendations to differentiate teaching techniques in EFL classrooms.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine implications of pre-service science teacher training by analyzing science field integration and connection between learning content presented in 'Integrated Science' for high school students based on the 2015 revised science curriculum, and in pre-service science learning materials (textbooks) of the college of education. For this study, the 2015 revised 'Integrated Science' curriculum and 11 types of pre-service science teachers' learning materials related to physics, chemistry, biological science, and earth science were selected. The results were as follows. Most of the learning content presented in the 2015 revised 'Integrated Science' curriculum had integrated two or more science fields. Also, almost all learning content presented in the 2015 revised 'Integrated Science' curriculum were included in pre-service science teachers' education content, with educational content for chemistry introduced at the highest rate. The textbooks for pre-service science teachers had the most learning contents of 'Energy and Environment' domain of 'Integrated Science' for high school students. Accordingly, these results suggest that 'integrated science materials' should be developed for proper the curriculum implementation. Also, training courses for science teachers responsible for 'Integrated Science' are required. Furthermore, a revised curriculum for the college of education and a method to link with certification examinations for secondary school teachers are needed.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out how pre-service teachers who have gone through training have thought about teaching practice. Specifically, I analyzed the relationship between college curriculum and teaching practice, and what they had felt in teaching practice. The study included 20 third grade students in teacher's college. The results of this study were as follows: First, it was found that the content knowledge and the pedagogical knowledge of the subjects taught at the university were helpful for the teaching practice. Second, they were thought that teaching practice would be helpful just to watch the class. And pre-service teachers felt that class demonstration was a necessary part of becoming a teacher. Third, pre-service teachers said that it is necessary to have a lecture in the university that can have opportunity for class demonstration for teaching practice. And also they wanted to open a lecture to learn various teaching techniques and the newest teaching methods. Fourth, pre-service teachers said that it is important to form relationships with students in order to complete the lessons through the teaching practice. And they said that they felt that the education scene was more powerful and harder than they thought. In addition, they said that through this exercise, it became a moment to feel the importance of thorough preparation and experience. In this way, teaching practice is an essential process for pre-service teachers to become teachers and it can be seen that they have many influences. Based on these results, it is necessary to review and revise the curriculum of the training colleges in relation to the teaching practice.

  • This study was conducted to have better understanding of the students' experience in field practice by school health practice experience. The study subjects were 40 nursing students working in department of nursing K Univ. in C city. This study was approached by phenomenological method. Collected data were analyzed by Colaizzi's method. The results were from the protocol 980 significant statements and organized into 240 formulated meanings. From formulated meaning 89 themes were identified, organized into 18 them clusters, and then into 16 categories. The nursing students took part in the practice with (expectation and readiness) different from those of the clinical practice, expressed wonder at the school which had progressed much more than their primary schools used to be. They said that they began to feel (Fatigue and stress), and that experienced tension for the lack of nursing knowledge and skill during the health education and clinical treatment activity. In addition, they experienced 'ambivalence of satisfaction and something wanted', that is to say, they could have done better by means of video education and health education. The 10-day-school health practice brought about the change in( the image of teacher) and (cognition about the nursing teacher's role), made the students have(love to the client) and (desire to be nursing teacher), and then turned out experience benefical enough to be expressed 'satisfaction' However, they pointed out many problems in (School Eniviroment), (Clinic), (Physical assessment), (Recording and reporting), so they had a chance to apply the school nursing process to the school. The professor should play the role of promoting the learning through the field practice and providing the stimulant of learning to help the learner get as much from the field situation as they could. Therefore, I suggest that the students always have a chance to exchange actual affairs and educational study, and that the concrete discussion and continuous cooperation be done. The professors should keep doing their best to find the way to professors should keep doing their best to find the way to promote the ability of thinking through the process the learners experienced themselves.
