  • This study was conducted to determine the mediating effect of reciprocity in the relationship between emotional labor and turnover intention of clinical nurses. The subjects were nurses from hospitals with over 300 beds in G city, and 197 data were analyzed. Data were analyzed t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. As a result, the turnover intention showed a positive correlation with emotional labor and a negative correlation with reciprocity. The emotional labor showed a negative correlation with reciprocity. Reciprocity showed a partial mediating effect between emotional labor and turnover intention. The higher the emotional labor and the lower the sub-factors of reciprocity, the higher the intention to turnover. Therefore, although it is important to reduce emotional labor in order to reduce the intention of the organization to turn away from clinical nurses experiencing emotional labor, it suggests that efforts to improve reciprocity and to prepare management plan are important.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of organizational commitment (OC) and perceived patient safety culture (PPSC) on patient safety nursing activities (PSNA) among nurses in comprehensive nursing care units. Methods: Participants were 173 nurses working at five general hospitals in Chungcheong area. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, 𝑥2 test, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 23.0 programs. Results: The mean scores of the OC and PPSC were 3.28±0.50 and 3.85±0.35, respectively. The mean score of PSNA was 4.55±0.41, and PSNA was significantly different by the experience of participating in hospital's safety culture campaigns (t=2.70, p=.008). The results of the multiple regression analysis showed that 'patient safety knowledge and attitudes' (β=.27, p=.006) and 'unpunished environment to error' (β=.22, p=.004) as the sub-categories of PPSC were affecting factors on PSNA with an explanatory power of 26.0% (F=6.40, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that in order to promote PSNA among nurses in comprehensive nursing care units, it is necessary to develop a program to enhance patient safety-related knowledge and attitudes. In addition, the hospital's organizational efforts such as operating safety campaigns and creating an unpunished environment to error should be needed.

  • Purpose: This study used a descriptive investigative design to identify educational needs for developmental supportive care for the purpose of establishing a developmental supportive care education program for nurses in neonatal intensive care units. Methods: A survey was conducted on 93 nurses working in neonatal intensive care units located in a metropolitan area, and the collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired t-test with the SPSS 25.0 program. For the purpose of analyzing educational needs, we further analyzed data through an importance-performance analysis (IPA) and the Borich needs assessment and the locus for focus models. Results: The average importance of the developmental supportive care of nurses in neonatal intensive care units was 3.74±0.78 out of 5, and the average performance was 3.46±0.81 out of 5. A t-test on the difference between the IPA and Borich needs assessment showed the highest educational need in the categories of 'individualized care', and 'I serve on the Developmental Care Committee at my institution'. In addition, according to the results of deriving the priorities of educational needs using the Borich needs assessment and the locus for focus model, the highest priority was 'I provide appropriate pain management when noxious procedures are necessary'. Conclusion: These findings can be used as basic data to design a developmental supportive care program suitable for nurses in neonatal intensive care units to meet the educational needs for developmental supportive care.

  • This study is significant in explaining the eSports awareness survey and future development direction of deaf people. Therefore, 189 deaf people were selected as the population, and the following conclusions were drawn by frequency analysis and t-test using SPSS 21.0 and Excel 2016. First, 67.7 percent of the 189 deaf people recognized eSports, 61.4 percent recognized it as a new sports system, and 65.6 percent participated directly or indirectly in eSports. Second, smartphones are the most common e-sports participating devices, and most of the participating events are Kartrider, which is recommended by friends. Third, the most inconvenient part of participating in eSports was the lack of eSports programs for deaf people, and the survey on whether to recommend eSports was the most likely. Fourth, the most common reason for not recognizing eSports as a new sport is that they are not actually sports, so they are not interested in participating. Fifth, there are statistically significant differences in eSports awareness, recognition and participation of deaf people by gender.
