An Analysis on Educational Experience of Competent Engineering Students based on Personal Investment Theory (우수한 공대생의 교육 활동 참여 분석: 개인투자이론을 기초로)

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the educational experiences of competent engineering students and finding the reason why they invest their time and efforts engaging in school activities. Five students with high GPA, high K-CESA scores and successful employment or entrance test scores, participated in the survey and the interview. In checking their responses, their activities' records were gathered from school DB. According to the modified framework based on the personal investment theory, the interviews, survey and DB records were analyzed on the sense of self, the social cultural environment, and pattern of behaviors in schools. The competent engineering students are able to manage themselves, in maintaining a good relationship with the collegiate, and in having high self-efficiency. They also tend to put effort into their studies and participate in inbound and outbound school activities. At the last part, freshmen foundation, relationship within college, students' activity related future career, economic stability during studies are suggested for supporting students in universities.

Prestack Datuming by Wavefield Depth Extrapolation using the DSR Equation (DSR 연산자에 의한 파동장 외삽을 이용한 중합전 데이터밍)

  • This paper describes a datuming scheme for a prestack dataset which uses wavefield depth extrapolation. The formulation of the prestack datuming algorithm is performed by finding the adjoint operator to the corresponding forward prestack wavefield extrapolation from a flat surface to an irregular surface. Here I used double-square-root (DSR) equation to extrapolate wavefield in prestack sense. This correspond to the forward model of the well known `survey sinking` prestack imaging algorithm.

  • Chinese seafarers have begun to be employed by foreign shipowners since 14979. Recognizing the benefits of overseas seafarers employment , Chinese goverment has implemented policy for seafarers' education and supply. Over the past two decades, the goverment has expanded and improved seafarer training facilities. As a result a number of seafarers have been educated, who are now available for employment on Chinese and foreign flag vessels. In 1995, about 20,000 Chinese seafarers served on foregin shipowner's vessels and the total foreign currency they earned was approximately US $300 million. This paper aims to describe the education system for Chinese seafarers and the mechanism of Chinese overseas seafarers employment and to highlight main problems occurred in the mechanism of their overseas employment. It takes the fact-finding research method with literature survey and interview.

과학자에 대한 청소년의 인상 (이미지)

  • The main purpose of this study is to investigate the Korean youths' impressions of the scientist. The concept of impression is assumed to reflect our significant view of an object better than that of image. That is, the basic assumption is that we tend to behave toward an object, based on its impression which is conceived to be "significant". In late August and early September 2002, a national survey for 1,204 youth (406 for 5th grad; 381 for 8th grade; and 417 for 11th grade) was conducted to find the Korean youths' impressions of the scientist. Our major finding is that the Korean youths' most impressions of the scientist were re his or her activities such as inventing, experimenting, researching, etc. And the major sources of those impressions were found to be television, book, and class. Other findings were about youths' impressions of the science teacher and opinions of the scientist as a profession. Finally, some policy-related implications based on survey results were presented at the end.

  • OSHMS(Occupational Safety and Health Management System) is able to define as a typical convergence of all kinds of activities and elements that support maintaining safety at workplace and protecting employee's health. In particular, fundamental function of OSHMS is preventing diverse hazards at workplace through high level of regulation compliance. Furthermore, insuring safety in workplace, protecting employee's health and increasing effectiveness in manufacture are OSHMS's additional functions. Based on the division of manufacture in 2009 Survey on Current Status of Occupational Health & Safety data, the study analyses certain relation between OSHMS and level of regulation compliance. The main finding is that most activities and elements which formed by OSHMS are being affected by regulation clauses.

  • This study is a study for finding a solution to the current situation and identify problems such as discharge through a survey of special health and safety training in the construction industry. In particular by identifying the status and problems, such as special health and safety training in the construction industry it was carried out for the purpose of the measures taken.

Abattoir survey of kidney lesions in Korean cattle (도축한우의 신장에 대한 병리학적 연구)

  • To examine the prevalence and types of kidney lesions in Korean cattle, a survey was carried out at a abattoir in september 2000 and January 2001. The collected kidneys were examined grossly and histopathologically and investigated for the patterns of renal diseases with considering season and sex. Of 735 cattle (99 bulls and 246 cows in September and 140 bulls, 3 steers, and 247 cows in January) surveyed, 301 (41%) cattle had various renal lesions. The most common prominent finding was focal or multiple interstitial nephritis (36.2%). Other lesions included focal or multiple renal cyst (9.1%), infarction (0.1%), hemorrhage (0.3%), and renal atrophy (0.3%). Microscopically, main pathological lesions were acute or chronic interstitial nephritis with moderate infiltration of neutrophil or lymphocyte, respectively. Finally, the kidney lesions are more or less correlated with the meat quality, especially in female Korean cattle.

  • The purpose of this study was to find job maturity of dental technology students in Taegu area. In order to accomplish the objectives stated above, the following research methods were utilized : 1. The related literatures including previous studies and journal were reviewed to develop the questionnaire for this purpose. 2. Field survey and questionnaire survey were conducted to collect data from 360 students sampled and analyzed by frequency percentage $X^2$-score. In consquence of analysis of the responses, the finding were as follows : 1. The job maturity of students was shown high. The grade point of 98.6 percent students as a whole was above three point. 2. As compared by academic year of sophomore students was higher than that of freshmen's, and male students were shown greater score than female students.

An analysis on enhancement of customer satisfaction for conversion farm with $2^{nd}$ and $3^{rd}$ industry (2.3차 산업 융합 농장의 고객 만족 요인 분석)

  • This study aimed at finding the factors impacting customer satisfaction (CS) for conversion farm with $2^{nd}$ and $3^{rd}$ industry, because the most important thing in the conversion farm is enhancing customer satisfaction. The data on CS from 173 pumpkin farm's customers by on-line survey were gathered. The analysis using structural equation model with Amos was carried out. Product, service and purchasing were determined as 3 factors impacting to CS. The result showed that purchasing is the biggiest contributor to CS. It means the customers using on-ine market are very sensitive to farm's brand and logistics. It is also found that conversion with processing and farm experience activity is definitely affecting to building customer's trust. In conclusion, making efforts on enhancing CS in conversion farm is the key to success.

WALLABY - the ASKAP HI All-Sky Survey

  • The "Widefield ASKAP L-band Legacy All-sky Blind surveY" (WALLABY) is an extragalactic HI survey which aims to examine HI properties and large-scale distribution of ~500,000 galaxies out to z ~ 0.27, covering a wide range of science goals associated with galaxy formation and evolution (P.I.: B. Koribalski & L. Staveley-Smith). The combination of ASKAP's exquisite column density sensitivity and a large primary beam will make it possible to systematically investigate the rarely explored low column-density HI in the universe. Ultimately, the largest and most homogeneous data set from WALLABY will drastically improve and broaden our knowledge on galaxy formation and evolution. ASKAP will be on-line in 2013, so to ensure timely and efficient reduction and analysis of the large WALLABY data set, we have been developing and testing reliable source finding tools and data analysis pipelines. In this talk I present recent progress of WALLABY, especially on the kinematic parameterisation pipeline for the spatially resolved galaxies detected by WALLABY.
