The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of various cavity configuration on bond strength and micro leakage of composite restoration. The specimens were prepared as followed; For control group(C=1), bovine teeth were wet-ground to expose flat dentin surface and in experimental groups, cylindrical cavities, same all2mm deep and 6mm in diameter(C=2.3), 4mm(C=3.0), and 3mm(C=3.7) were prepared.(omitted)
This study performs a simulation for an accumulation mechanism of contaminants, which were produced in an industrial belt of inland, on the surface of insulators. From the simulation, silicon insulators presented higher accumulation than that of EPDM(Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer : EPDM) insulators on the same distance in the case of the Virgin polymer insulator, and this result presented the same result in the insulator applied in actual fields. In the case of the accumulation test for the Virgin insulator and insulators used in actual fields, it is evident that the Virgin insulator presented more accumulation than that of the insulator used in actual fields. The results can be caused by the generation of LMW (Low Molecular Weight) on the external material of polymer insulators, and the level of the accumulation can be changed according to the degree of the continuous generation of LMW.
This paper presents the contact thermal behaviors of mechanical seals depending on the contacting face geometry. Using the finite element analysis, the temperature distribution, thermal distortion and leakage have been analyzed as functions of sealing gap and rotating speed of the seal ring shaft. The FE results indicate that the inclined contacting face may be more effective and stable based on the results of thermal characteristic analysis if the seal ring has been designed with a same thermal capacity between conventional rectangular sealing faces and inclined seating surface of seal rings.
Hydraulic systems are used to transform mechanical energy into fluid energy and vice versa. They are widely applied in various industries; e.g., they are used in automobiles, public works, rockets, machine tools, heavy construction equipment, and airplanes. Hydraulic pumps are used to transform the energy in these systems. In this study, with the basic operation principles as a starting point, I attempted to clarify how the shape of a slipper affects the lubrication characteristics under practical conditions. A swashplate with a tilt angle of zero and capable of rotating motion was used, along with other devices. A slipper was located at 45 mm eccentricity from the center of the swashplate. The results of this experiment indicated that the shape of the bottom surface of a slipper affects the load capacity, leakage flow, and lubrication characteristics and that the slipper is one of the most important parts for improving the pump efficiency.
Grouting internally with grout materials can repair the micro-cracks and micro-voids of construction joints more efficiently than injecting grouts from the surface of cracks. A new internal grouting method using perforated bundled-cables was developed in this study to enhance the structural integrity of the construction joints. The extensive experiments were performed to examine the mechanical behavior of construction joints which are repaired internally by the developed method. The tests were conducted for rectangular-shaped box wall structures and straight wall structures. The strength and permeability tests at grouted construction joints were conducted to evaluate the structural behavior of repaired construction joints. The present study indicates that the internal grouting method developed in this study enhances greatly the performance of construction joints and may be efficiently used for the leak-tight integrity of construction joints in concrete structures.
The problem of water leakage due to damaging waterproof in concrete structure, causes the impediment in a long term and shortened the life span of durability. There are a lot of techniques for repair and reinforcement to improve using environment. However, the improper construction which is unconsidered various environmental conditions, could effect to increase the maintenance expenses. Therefore, this study will be compared and estimated the adhesion liquid and sheet integrate waterproofing material, as analyzing the existing problem. For those result, we would like to arrange the alterative plan for the long durability and user needs of concrete structure.
The study was performed to evaluate effects of Conservative treatment between amalgam filling and stainless steel crown. The selected subjects for this study was 350 children who have amalgam filling or stainless steel crown. The obtained results are as followings. 1. In amalgam filling teeth, 120 teeth (60.0%) showed marginal leakage, 57 teeth (28.5%) showed fracture of filling material and 28 teeth (14.0%) teeth showed periapical lesion. 2. In crowned teeth, 6 teeth (3.0%) showed hole on the surface of crown, 29 teeth (14.5%) showed avulsion of crown and 10 teeth (5.0%) showed periapical lesion. 3. After 12 months from examining date, 69 teeth (34.5%) showed sound condition in amalgam filling teeth and 155 teeth (75.2%) showed sound condition in crowned teeth.

In this study, we extend the application of the interface-matrix(IM) method for reflector modeling to Analytic Flux Expansion Nodal (AFEN) method. This include the modifications of the surface-averaged net current continuity and the net leakage balance conditions for IM method in accordance with AFEN fomular. AFEN-interface matrix (AFEN-IM) method has been tested against ZION-1 benchmark problem. The numerical result AFEN-IM method shows 1.24% of maximum error and 0.42% of root-mean square error in assembly power distribution, and 0.006%Δk of neutron multiplication factor. This result proves that the interface-matrix method for reflector modeling can be useful in AFEN method.
On the surface of mesoporous silica thin films (MSTF) which were fabricated by sol-gel approach there are existences of water and three different silanol types including chained, germinal and isolated silanol. Their amounts changes as a function of aging time of used sol solution, as confirmed by FT-IR. The adsorbed water generates ionic carriers such as H+ and OH- and passivates the Si dangling bonds at the interface of silicon wafer-MSTF. The ionic carriers can not only transport across the thickness of thin film to enhance the leakage current but also diffuse toward the silicon wafer-MSTF interface to depassivate Si dangling bonds. On the other hand, chained silanols or germinal silanols promote the moisture adsorption of MSTF and tend to form strongly hydrogen bonded systems with adsorbed water molecules resulting in very high dielectric constant. Isolated silanol, on the contrary, affects less on electrical properties of thin film.
In this paper, The electrical properties of MOS capacitors and transistoras with gate of in-situ doped amorphous Si and poly Si doped by POCI$_3$. Under constant current F-N stress, MOS capacitors with in-situ doped amorphous Si gate have shown the best resistance to degradation in reliabilty properties such as increase of leakage current, shift of gate voltage (V$_{g}$). shift of flat band voltage (V$_{fb}$) and charge to breakdown(Q$_{bd}$). Also, MOSFETs with in-situ doped amorphous Si gate have shown to have less degradation in transistor properties such as threshold voltage, transconductance and drain current. These improvements observed in MOS devices with in-situ doped amorphous Si gate is attributed to less local thinning spots at the gate/SiO$_2$ interface, caused by the large grain size and the smoothness of the surface at the gate/SiO$_2$ interface.
