Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the association between denture wearing and dementia using a Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE-K) in the community dwelling elderly. Methods: The study subjects were 184 community dwelling elderly using Korean version of mini-mental state examination(MMSE-K). The variables included the general characteristics of the subjects, denture earing, number of mastication tooth, subjective mastication ability, and MMSE(dementia). Denture wearing was divided into two groups of the natural dentition including the fixed prosthesis and removable denture including the complete and/or partial denture. The data were analyzed by ${\chi}^2$ test, t-test, and binary logistic regression using SPSS version 22.0 program. Logistic regression was used to analyze the association of MMSE-K score and denture wearing, and 95% confidence interval was calculated. The subjective mastication ability was measured by Likert 5 points scale. Dementia was measured by MMSE-K. Results: There was a significant association between MMSE-K score and denture wearing. The odds ratio(OR) of denture waering was 6.01(95% CI: 2.824-12.784). After adjusting the age, gender, residence and education, OR was 5.53(95% CI: 2.364-12.935). Conclusions: This study showed a significant association between MMSE-K score and denture wearing in the Korean elderly.
This study examined the experience of health education and assessed the needs for health education in the students attending a university located in Inchon. The primary subjects were 749. who were selected from each college by using systematic random sampling. Of these students. 457 subjects responded to the self-reported questionnaire. revealing the response rate of $61.01\%$. As for the analysis of the data. percentages. chi-square test. and correlation and regression analyses were adopted. The experience rate of health education was 39.02% and the rate was higher in women than in men. The students experienced the education about smoking and first-aid most frequently. whereas they experienced stress management much less frequently. Stress management was given the highest priority among the subjects of health education which they proposed to need. Physical health states of the students were better than their mental health states. The women tended to eat meals irregularly compared to men. Those students living not with their family nor with their relatives were more likely to eat meals twice a day compared to those who live at their homes. Those who recognized the need for health education showed the willingness to join health education to be given. The willingness was, also observed in those who had better self-evaluated mental health. regardless of the recognition of the need for health education. These findings revealed both objective and subjective needs for educating management of mental health. Education on healthy eating habit should be given particularly to woman students and those who do not live with family nor with relatives. When educating for the management of mental health. there should be strategies to facilitate the participation of the students who do not have good mental health.

Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the factors affecting a hypothetical model of testing for general hospital nurses' job embeddedness. Methods: Data were collected from August 20 to September 19, 2021, by a self-administered questionnaire answered by 428 general hospital nurses. The data were analyzed by SPSS and AMOS. Results: Nine of the hypothetical model's 12 hypotheses were supported by the data collected from all participants. The test results indicate that ego resilience, subjective career success, and recovery experience from job stress directly affect participants' job embeddedness. Nurses' work environments were reported to affect ego resilience and subjective career success, while at the same time ego resilience and subjective career success affected the participants' job embeddedness. Work-life balance was found to affect ego resilience and ego resilience affected subjective career success, and at the same time subjective career success directly affected participants' recovery experiences from job stress and job embeddedness. Of these variables, subjective career success had the strongest direct effect on participants' job embeddedness. Work-life balance affected the participants' recovery experiences from job stress, and their recovery experiences from job stress were found to directly affect job embeddedness. Conclusion: These results suggest that different management strategies to enhance hospital nurses' job embeddedness should address nurses' ego resilience, subjective career success, and recovery experiences from job stress.
To prevent the musculoskeletal diseases from repeated dental treatment, the health status and subjective symptom according to the working environment of dental hygienists were examined in 185 Gyeongnam dental hygienists from October 01, 2017 to October 30. The health status of the study subjects (χ2=40.21, p<.001), the physical burden of work (χ2=47.68, p<.001) and the mental fatigue of work (χ2=66.98, p<.001) were significantly different according to working experience. The level of mental fatigue depended on the number of dental hygienists in the clinics (p=0.032). 94.1% of the subjects knew musculoskeletal diseases and there were significant differences according to working experience (χ2=77.85, p<.001), the numbers of patients in a day (χ2=41.08, p<.001) and daily standing time (χ2=6.96, p=.008). Currently, 73.0% of the dental hygienists have musculoskeletal diseases. There was a significant difference according to the number of patients (χ2=51.01, p<.001) and daily standing time (χ2=25.15, p<.001). The presence of injured parts due to musculoskeletal disorders showed a significant difference according to the numbers of patients (χ2=18.98, p<.001) and daily standing hours (χ2=33.20, p<.001). The musculoskeletal diseases examination of dental hygienists is needed based on subjective symptoms of musculoskeletal diseases and prevention and management of measures musculoskeletal diseases are required.
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to examine the factors that influence Korean adolescents' depression and suicidal ideation from individual, social and environmental perspectives by gender. The study used the date of the 2015 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey and the subjects were 68,043 middle and high school students. The levels of depression and suicidal ideation were the dependent variables and the factors influencing the dependent variables included 11 individual factors, 3 social factors and 7 environmental factors. The data were analyzed using odds ratios (OR) from multi-variable logistic regression analysis. As a result, the most significant individual factors that influenced both depression and suicidal ideation were stress and subjective happiness both in boy and girls, the most significant social factor was participation in violence treatment programs, and the most significant environmental factors were economic status, father's educational level, and whether or not they lived with their family. Therefore, programs and policies to improve adolescents' mental health should be developed considering individual, social, and environmental factors.
Background: The present study aims to investigate job stressors and stress relievers for Korean emotional laborers, specifically focusing on the effects of work conditions and emotional labor properties. Emotional laborers are asked to hide or distort their real emotions in their interaction with clients. They are exposed to high levels of stress in the emotional labor process, which leads to serious mental health risks including burnout, depression, and even suicide impulse. Exploring job stressors and relieving factors would be the first step in seeking alternatives to protect emotional laborers from those mental health risks. Methods: Using the third wave data of Korean Working Conditions Survey, logistic regression analysis was conducted for two purposes: to examine the relations of emotional labor and stress, and to find out job stressors and relievers for emotional laborers. Results: The chances of stress arousal are 3.5 times higher for emotional laborers; emotional laborers experience double risk-burden for stress arousal. In addition to general job stressors, emotional laborers need to bear burdens related to emotional labor properties. The effect of social support at the workplace is not significant for stress relief, unlike common assumptions, whereas subjective satisfaction (wage satisfaction and work-life balance) is proven to have relieving effects on emotional laborers' job stress. Conclusion: From the results, the importance of a balanced understanding of emotional labor for establishing effective policies for emotional laborer protection is stressed.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to find out the relation factors of weight control behaviors, mental health status and body image perception in adolescents and to use basis data of health promotion for adolescents. Objectives : We developed the short form of the Mentalization Improvement Program for Adolescent-Community Model (MIPAdo-CM-S), based on the concept of the mentalization. Methods : The MIPAdo-CM was composed of 6 sessions and was applied to 133 students in the 1st grade of a middle school for six weeks during their regular school hours. After 6 weeks, we compared the endpoint changes of Adolescent Mental Problem Questionnaire-Revised (AMPQ-R), Emotional Empathy Test, Peer Aggression Scale, Peer Bullying Scale, School Adjustment Scale, Test Anxiety Inventory and Visual Analogue Scale between the subject and the control group. Results : On the Visual Analoge Scale, students in the trial classes reported an increased understanding and respect for others, as well as themselves. Conclusion : The efficacy of MIPAdo-CM was subjective improvement of understanding and respect for both others and themselves. To prove objective usefulness of this program, further studies should be administered in the form of long-term, regular and structured courses.
