This paper examines how a Korean automobile firm price-discriminates between the Korean and the U.S. markets. We argue that a Korean automobile firm's pricing behavior depends on the differences in price elasticity over the segmented markets between the countries. Our findings are that differences in price elasticity may help explain why a medium-class car's price is higher in Korea than that in the U.S. while a small-sized car's price is higher in the U.S. than in Korea, which implies that a Korean automobile firm $3^{rd}$ degree price-discriminates on the same or similar products between Korea and the U.S. This type of $3^{rd}$ degree price discrimination differs from a typical home-bias effect (charging higher prices to domestic consumers) because a small-sized car which is produced domestically sells at higher price abroad. This finding can be added as a source that violates the law of one price.

Korea is becoming an aged society as well developed country. Accident rates of elderly workers are increased. When elderly workers injured, elderly workers are more likely to die as a result, and they take longer to recover than young workers. Thus the cost to industry per individual accident gets higher for elderly workers. If information on the occupational accidents of elderly workers could be collected and analyzed for the purpose of preventing occupational accidents, we would be able to get rid of accidents of elderly workers. The accidents of elderly workers in small manufacturing factories were considered in this study. 97 accidents, which occurred in 1995-1998, were investigated. These accidents were analyzed in terms of sex, work period, cause of accident and form of accident. The accidents of elderly workers in small manufacturing factories are numerous and are often serious and worthy of greater attention than they have received. Successful strategies for accident prevention depend on effective analysis.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the process and its influencing factors of technological capability building in a small and medium-sized capital goods sector. This paper first reviews the influencing factors of accumulating technological capability-technology trajectory, technology sources, technological capability, technological learning, technology strategy, and entrepreneurship. The paper then presents the integrative model of technological capability building. The experience of Mirae Corporation, the first generation of venture company in Korea, is also discussed as a case in point to analyse the process of technological capability building in a small and medium-sized capital goods company. Finally, the implications and limitations of the study arc discussed.

Deregulations and market practices in power industry have brought great challenges to the system planning area. In particular, they introduce a variety of uncertainties to system planning. New techniques are required to cope with such uncertainties. As a promising approach, probabilistic methods are attracting more and more attentions by system planners. In small signal stability analysis, generation control parameters play an important role in determining the stability margin. The objective of this paper is to investigate power system state matrix sensitivity characteristics with respect to system parameter uncertainties with analytical and numerical approaches and to identify those parameters have great impact on system eigenvalues, therefore, the system stability properties. Those identified parameter variations need to be investigated with priority. The results can be used to help Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) and Independent System Operators (ISOs) perform planning studies under the open access environment.

As the competitive market environment and industry circumstances become more and more competitive on a daily basis, it is not easy to find an opportunity to initiate small business, or increase performances of Small and Medium Business. The research findings are as follows. First, entrepreneurship(innovation, progressive, social responsibility) has significant effects on the market orientation. Second, company competence(individual resource, technology resource) has significant effects on the market orientation. Third, market orientation has significant effects on the non-financial performance(Internal process performance, learning & growth performance, customer performance). Finally, non-financial performance(Internal process performance, learning & growth performance, customer performance) has significant effects on the financial performance.

A relay is the one of small electrical components for automobiles and used for industry widely. We have developed the automation system for relay assembly and test to make it improve the productivity and decrease the man power. In order to determine the objective process of automation, we investigated 6 small and medium sized-enterprises and 1 greate sized-enterprise producing relays. And, we selected 2 model enterprises of them. One of the two is the system to develop. The scope of our study is the analyse of the conventional workcell, the determination of the system specification, the design of the system layout, the determination of the system cycle time, the design of the system mechanism, and the development of the controller for the system. We think that the developed system may be solve the technical and the economical problems interrupted efficiential automation of domastic small and medium sized-enterprises, and improve the international competitive power.

The BIM(Building Information Modeling) introduction of the construction and maintenance at the design phase through the life cycle of the building until it is destroyed, I will bring big changes in the process. This survey research investigates how the small and medium industries in Pusan area have considered quality management activities in an effort to strengthen their competitive power. It first develops a set of significant questionnaires anddistributes them to a select group of small and medium regional industries. The survey results are analyzed based on both Cronbach's Alpha value and $x^2$ test. This study shows that the awareness level of quality management varies according to the type of industrial field. This study also proposes that a, pp.opriate quality management strategies are necessary for the regional industries in pusan.

An effective tool management system is one of the keys to maximizing the benefits of a computer integrated manufacturing (CIM). Tool management systems, however, are often tailored to the requirement of a highly automated system. Therefore, a different approach is needed for small and medium sized mold shops. This work deals with the implementation of tool management system for milling operations in small and medium sized CIM environment of injection mold production. In this paper, a distributed management approach is proposed for efficient tool management in relatively small machining shops in mold industry. And the design and the functions of the developed system are described.
