Workplace Violence and Social Network Service Addiction

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of organizational politics on employees' social network service addiction and how it influences their job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior. And this study explores if leader-member exchange can moderate the relationship between organizational politics and social network service addiction. Research, design, data, and methodology - For this, this study collected data from 305 employees in Korean companies through a survey method and uses SPSS 18.0 for hierarchical regression analysis in the hypothesis test. Results - First, organizational politics increases immersion, compulsion and association among the sub-factors of social network service addiction. Second, each phenomena of social network service addiction such as salience, compulsion and association decrease each relevant factors of job satisfaction and organizational citizen behavior. Third, compulsion and association among the sub-factors of social network service addiction play the mediating roles between organizational politics and each relevant factors of job satisfaction/organizational citizen behavior. Finally, some of sub-factors of leader-member exchange decrease the effect of each characteristics of organizational politics on immersion, compulsion and association among the sub-factors of social network service addiction. Conclusions - This study provides some of managerial implications to corporate executives who try to manage organizational attitude.

Study on Internal Service Quality, Job Satisfaction and Customer Satisfaction in Airline Industry

  • In this study, the basic concept of service profit chain was introduced based on the existing studies related to service quality of airline ground crew to find out how are customer satisfaction influenced by factors related to employees who provide service quality to the customers, such as internal service quality and job satisfaction. The data of this study was collected by questionnaire and based on airline ground crews and Gimpo international airport users. A total of 190 of airline ground crew and 273 of passengers validity sample was analyzed a frequency analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis and correlation coefficient analysis from SPSS 21, a hypothesis through out confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling from AMOS 7.0. As a result of the analyses, it was found that the models was appropriate in proving the hypotheses on interrelationships among internal service quality, job satisfaction and customer satisfaction. Overall, finding of this study enhance the theoretical progress on the experiential concept in walking tour and offer important implication for airline industry marketers.

  • The heart service of a receptionist who receives customers in the front line of a business has a great effect on the management of Company. Considering of this, this study offers a view that high job satisfaction of an employee who works eating-out businesses raises the quality of service and has a great influence upon satisfaction of customers. To support this view, the only original study were made. and for the management of human resources in the eating-industry, satisfaction factors, that have a great effect upon the characteristics of job satisfaction by vital statistics factors, are human relations, advancement, working surrounding. And we should recognize that among these, especially, human relations have d considerable effect on service offering degree and they are important variables for customers' satisfaction. In conclusion, service offers have a need to know how service products differed to customers are selected and appraised. Until now our recognition has been confined mainly to products themselves, but when service can exert its value much more. accordingly, under the recognition that job contentment has an effect on service offering and works as important variables for customers' satisfaction, employers should have incessant on job education of employees.

Effects of Psychological Ownership on the Job Attitude of Employees in General Hospitals (일부 종합병원 종사자의 심리적 주인의식이 직무태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : This study investigated the effects of psychological ownership on job attitude markers (job satisfaction and affective commitment) of employees in general hospitals. Methods : Data were collected using self-administered questionnaire completed by employees in two hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do province, from May 21 to 26, 2014. Job attitude markers were measured by job satisfaction and affective commitment. We analyzed 300 cases using SPSS 21.0. Results : Psychological ownership of hospital employees had a significant effect on the job satisfaction and affective commitment. Psychological ownership explained a total of 20.5% and 9.9% of the variance in job satisfaction and affective commitment while controlling for gender, age, marital status, work position and work experience. Conclusions : Psychological ownership of hospital employees is a useful factor and key to recruiting and conducting training program for them, thus enhancing job attitudes.

Job Importance and Job Satisfaction among Elementary School Foodservice dietitians in Seoul (서울시 초등학교 영양사의 직무중요도 및 직무만족도 분석)

  • The facts of job satisfaction and their perceived importance among elementary school foodservice dietitians were assessed. The survey instrument consisted of three parts: the job satisfaction survey was used to measure facets of job satisfaction and the level of total satisfaction; perceived importance questions for corresponding job facets; and demographic items. A survey of school food service operations was undertaken and detailed information was collected from 170 dietitians. The collected data were processed using the SPSS package program for descriptive analysis and analysis of valiance. School foodservice dietitians' importance and satisfactions scores on their job and working environment were 4.25 and 2.83, respectively. The respondents rated the subscales of 'communication' and 'nature of work' the highest and the subscales of 'pay' and 'working environment' the lowest The results of facet satisfaction scores and corresponding perceived importance scores were paired to be plotted on the Importance-Performance Analysis Grid. IPA grid was used to provide a strategy for food service managers to counteract dietitian dissatisfaction.

Case Study on Job Flow Improvement of Foodservice at a University Hospital (대학병원 급식업무 개선 사례 연구)

  • Background : In order to cope with changes in the management environment at hospitals, increased interests are drawn in patient foodservice system on Continuous Quality Improvement Activity as the method of approaching a quality food service and effective management. Thus, as a part of this activity, this study was conducted to evaluate job flow improvement that was already performed and the results of that process at the dietetic department of a university hospital, focusing on improving management. Method : On February 15 of 1998. the dietetic department formed a job flow-improvement to decide on the priority of job flow improvement, and prepared specific action strategies and schedule of the priority: after a 5 month process period, job improvement achieved on June 15. 1998. Also, economic achievement of the task was evaluated through labor productivity analysis and cost-benefit analysis. Results : The patient food service system which was managed decentralized at the present hospital was centralized, some steps of the food service process were integrated, and quality of patient food was improved. Also, as a solution of the problems expected when conducting job flow improvement was made on food service equipments and utensils. The result of evaluating the job flow improvement that labor productivity improved by 18.2% compared to before the improvement and the result of the analysis of cost-benefit showed that Benefit-Cost (B/C) ratio was 2.22. showing financial merit on the investment. Conclusions : Continuous Quality Improvement Activity needs to be initiated and conducted in the future in various areas of hospital foodservice system in order to actively adopt to ever changing hospital management environment. In order to achieve this goal, many researches and more efforts need to be put in by people in charge of hospital food service management, and interests and support are needed from hospital policy makers.

  • Purposes: The purpose of this study is to analyze the factor of affecting on job satisfaction by mediating attitude of care service. Methodology: (1)Identify socio-demographic characteristics, work characteristics, the elderly support period, the presence of education related to the elderly, the presence of service associated with the elderly, and significant factors of the research subjects. (2)Identify changes in the number of education and services before and after obtaining a caregiver qualification. (3)Identify the attitude of providing care services and job satisfaction according to the characteristics of the research subjects. (4)Identify the direct and indirect factors influencing job satisfaction by mediating the service attitudes of the research subjects. Findings: First, age factors have positive effects and the volunteering experience have negative effects on job satisfaction by mediating attitude of care service. Although the number of education class has increased after qualification, educational factors had no significant effect. Second, the longer elderly support period had a positive effect on job satisfaction. Practical Implications: This study is meaningful in that it identifies the direct and indirect impacts on job satisfaction through care attitudes. In the future, it will be necessary to pay attention to improving the quality of long-term care services by analyzing the influence factors more.

The Impacts of Personal Characteristics and Company-Related Characteristics on the Job Satisfaction of Dietitians Engaged in Contract Food Service Management Company (서울.경기지역 위탁급식전문업체 영양사의 직무만족에 영향을 미치는 개인 특성과 급식소 운영 특성 분석)

  • The purposes of this study were to measure job satisfaction levels of dietitians engaged a in contract food service management company, and to examine the impacts of personal characteristics and organizational characteristics on the job satisfaction of dietitians. The questionnaires developed for this study were distributed to 230 dietitians of contract food service management companies in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas, and a total of 187 (81.3%) questionnaires were used for analysis. Statistical analyses were completed using SPSS (Win 11.5) for descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, t-test and ANOVA. The average job satisfaction score of the dietitians was 2.83, which is lower than "not satisfied" and "not dissatisfied" (3), "Marital status" (p < 0.001), "payroll per year" (p < 0.001), "age" (p < 0.05) and "work experience as a dietitians" (p < 0.05) had significant effects on job satisfaction of work and environmental factors. "Operating group" (p < 0.05), "type of menu" and "type of service" also affected the job satisfaction. Overall, it is important that managers of contract food service management companies establish specified human resource management strategies with understandings of the characteristics of their dietitians and companies to enhance the job satisfaction of dietitians, and to achieve their managerial goals.

Relations between Radiologists' Job Stress and Intent of Separation (방사선사의 직무스트레스와 이직의도와의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine relations between the job stress of radiologists, who are serving at secondary medical institutions, and their intent of separation, providing basic information necessary to earlier prevent the separation, improve the quality of radiologists and ensure a more effective personnel management of the professionals. For the purpose, this researcher conducted a structured questionnaire survey of 221 radiologists from Nov 1 to 30, 2010 who were serving at secondary medical institutions located in Busan. Findings of the study can be summarized as follows. 1) The surveyed radiologists were scored 2.82 points in average in terms of job stress. This indicates that they are suffering from job stress higher than moderate. 2) The subjects were significantly different from each other in job stress according to their age, total service period, department where they were serving, satisfaction with their hospital and satisfaction with the foresaid department. 3) The subjects were scored 2.59 points in average in terms of the intent of separation. This indicates that the surveyed radiologists are not so willing to change their job. 4) Those radiologists were significantly different from each other in the intent of separation according to their age, marital status, educational background, average monthly income, total service period, the period of service at a department where they belonged now, position, satisfaction with their hospital and satisfaction with the foresaid department. 5) There were significant correlations between the subjects' job stress and intent of separation.

The Effect of Authentic Leadership and Servant Leadership on Job Engagement among Hospital Employees : Focusing on Mediating Effect of Job Crafting and Moderated Mediating Effect of Positive Psychological Capital (중소병원 종업원의 리더십 인식이 직무열의에 미치는 영향과 잡 크래프팅의 매개효과 및 긍정심리자본의 조절된 매개효과)

  • Objectives: To investigate the effect of authentic leadership and servant leadership on job engagement among hospital employees, focusing on the mediating effect of job crafting and moderated mediating effect of positive psychological capital. Methods : Data were collected from 329 employees working at hospitals through a self-administered questionnaire-based survey. Results : Job crafting had a direct positive effect on job engagement and a mediating effect between the servant leadership and job engagement. Self-efficacy among positive psychological capital had a moderating effect on the relationship between job crafting and job engagement and a moderated mediating effect on the relationship among servant leadership, job crafting, and job engagement. Conclusions : Results imply that manager's authentic leadership and servant leadership is required to instill enthusiasm among hospital employees regarding their job crafting and job engagement. Additionally, development of self-efficacy among employees would lead to the improvement of job engagement.
