  • Creep and shrinkage in concrete structures are very complex phenomena in which various uncertainties exist with regard to inherent material variations as well as modeling uncertainties. The creep and shrinkage models which are capable of predicting long-term structural response are specified in design codes such as ACI 209-92, CEB-FIP Model Code 90, etc. However, in the prediction formulas of creep and shrinkage effects of concrete, various kinds of parameters are involved to express the characteristics of concrete under consideration (i.e. the proportion of concrete, the shape of the structure, relative humidity, etc.). And the predicted values from each design code under same environment differ from each other. To predict the characteristics of concrete, the long-term experiments of creep and shrinkage is necessary but this is not suitable for a construction field. In this study, adjustment method of creep coefficient using sensitivity analysis is proposed to predict creep coefficient of concrete exactly and it is checked up on the validity of the predicting method by comparing to the assumed value and predicted one.

Numerical sensitivity analysis for the reinforcement effect of a curvature of a tunnel floor on soft grounds (연약지반에 위치한 터널 바닥부 곡률의 보강효과에 대한 수치해석적 민감도 분석)

  • As the number of existing road tunnels increases every year, collapse and floor heaving accidents occur frequently during construction. The collapse among tunnel accidents dominates, so that studies related to the floor heaving are relatively insufficient. Accordingly, many studies to reinforce the lower part of the tunnel have been conducted, but the analysis on the effect of the curvature of the tunnel floor is insufficient. Therefore, in this study, the effects of the upper analysis area height and the coefficient of lateral earth pressure of the tunnel located on a tuff deterioration zone with a large rock cover, as well as the floor curvature, were examined through sensitivity analysis. As a result of the analysis, it turned out that the overall stability of the tunnel increases as the floor curvature increases, the coefficient of lateral earth pressure decreases, and the upper analysis region increases.

  • In this paper, fabricated by MEMS uncooled micro-bolometer detector for the study in the infrared sensitivity enhancement. Absorption layer SiOx-Metal series MDTF (metal-dielectric thin film) by high absorption rate and has a high thermal coefficient of resistance, low noise characteristics were implemented. Then MDTF were made in a vacuum deposition method. And MDTF for the analysis of the physical properties of silicon wafers were fabricated, TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) value was made in order to measure the glass wafer and FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy) values were made in order to measure the germanium window. The analyzed results of MDTF -3 [%/K] has more characteristics of the TCR. And 8~12 um wavelength region close to 70% in the absorption characteristic.

Investigations on coefficient of variation of extreme wind speed

  • The uncertainty of extreme wind speeds is one key contributor to the uncertainty of wind loads and their effects on structures. The probability distribution of annual extreme wind speeds may be characterized using a classical Gumbel Type distribution. The expression that establishes the relationship between the extreme wind speeds at different recurrence periods and the corresponding coefficients of variation is formulated, and its efficacy is validated. The coefficients of variation are calibrated to be about 0.125 and 0.184 according to defined Chinese and US design specifications, respectively. Based on the wind data of 54 cities in China, 49 meteorological stations in the US, 3 stations in Singapore, the coefficients span intervals of (0.1, 0.35), (0.08, 0.20) and (0.06, 0.14), respectively. For hurricanes in the US, the coefficients range approximately from 0.3 to 0.4. This convenient technique is recommended as one alternative tool for coefficient of variation analyses in the future revisions of related codes. The sensitivities of coefficients of variation for 49 meteorological stations in the US are quantified and demonstrated. Some contradictions and incompatibilities can be clearly detected and illustrated by comparing the coefficients of variation obtained with different combinations of recurrence period wind data.

Wind Tunnel Test of Aerodynamic Forces and Wind Pressures Acting on Muilti-layer Radom in Active Phased Array Radar (풍동실험을 통한 능동위상배열레이더에서 다층레이돔에 작용하는 공기력과 풍압의 실험적 연구)

  • In this paper, we investigated the sensitivity of aerostatic force coefficients of multi-layer radom in the various wind speeds. The test was conducted in KOCED Wind Tunnel Center in Chonbuk National University, and wind speeds were in the range from 5 m/s to 26 m/s in order to determine the Reynolds number independence. The test results of present multi-layer radom were not affected by the Reynolds number, The maximum positive pressure coefficient was found to be 1.08 at the center of the front of the plane in angle of attack of 0 degree, the maximum negative pressure coefficient was -2.03 at the upper right corner in angle of attack of 120 degree, while maximum drag coefficient was 1.11 in angle of attack of 180 degree.

Factors influencing the recognition of clinical nurses' code of ethics; Focusing on consciousness of biomedical ethics, moral sensitivity, and critical thinking deposition (임상간호사의 간호사 윤리강령 인식의 영향 요인; 생명의료 윤리의식, 도덕적 민감성, 비판적사고 성향을 중심으로)

  • This study is a descriptive survey study that attempted to confirm clinical nurses' consciousness of biomedical ethics, moral sensitivity, critical thinking deposition, and nursing ethics code of clinical nurses, as well as to identify the factors influencing the recognition of the nursing code of ethics. The general and ethical characteristics of the subject were calculated by frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and the difference for each variable according to the general and ethical characteristics was analyzed using SAS 9.4, independent t-test, and one-way ANOVA, and Scheffé test. The average, standard deviation, and the minimum and maximum values were used for the scores of each variable, and the correlation was determined using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Multiple regression was used to identify the factors that influence the recognition of the nurse's code of ethics. All variables showed significant correlations. Critical thinking deposition (p<.05) was the most influential variable in recognizing the code of ethics for nurses. Critical thinking deposition (p<.001), consciousness in biomedical ethics (p<.001), and moral sensitivity (p<.001) were shown to be affected in order, with 27.4% explaining power. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and apply educational programs to clinical nurses that can improve critical thinking, life and bioethics, and moral sensitivity.

An Analysis of Economic Effects of Korean Fisheries using Input, Output Analysis (산업연관분석을 이용한 수산업의 경제적 파급효과 추이 분석)

  • Today, the Korean fisheries is undergoing significant hardships, both domestically and internationally. While declining amount of catch, ascending international oil prices and others pose a compelling challenge to the fishing sector, the ever strengthening influence of international institutions related to fisheries and international trade organizations also compel to bring about myriad of changes in the realm of fishery products. Against the backdrop, this study attempted to examine the fisheries catch, aquaculture, service, processing fields in terms of its rippling effect and of how the industry has been changed by analyzing the past and present through an input-output analysis. As for research methods, 168 items of the input-output tables in 2000, 2005, 2009, and 2010 were integrated to form and classify 32 sectors (28 basic sectors + catch, aquaculture, fishery service, processed fishery products) so as to generate production inducement coefficient, sensitivity coefficient, and impact coefficient. The analysis results revealed that : though the linkage effect of fishery industry was not very sizable, the impact coefficient of the processed fishery products was high; the consumption and investment coefficient sector among production inducement coefficient was on an upturn trend ; the export coefficient was tended to decline. In the future research, it is necessary to carry out a study based on the integration of detailed classification (404 sector) and a study and analysis of fishery industry by different regions through the inter-regional input-output tables. The fishery industry is one of the crucial industries in Korea. The fishery industry is not only important in its own right but also significant as it exerts influence over other industries. Therefore, it is required that there should be more investment and supports for the development of the fishery industry, and pay efforts to ensure that the investment and development could lead to mutual growth for both the fishery and other various industries.

The Sensitivity Analysis of Parameters of Urban Runoff Models due to Variations of Basin Characteristics (II) - Model Calibration and Application - (유역특성 변화에 따른 도시유출모형의 매개변수 민감도분석(II) -모형의 검정 및 적용-)

  • In this study, ILLUDAS and SWMM were applied for Dongsucheon basin, Incheon and Test basin, Cheongju. The main parameters (II, IA, IS, SI, SR, SS) which are included in those of each model depending on runoff results were determined, and sensitivity ratios were estimated in order to evaluate and compare the characteristics of each modEL. Total runoff ratio for almost parameters turned out to have a linear relation to the rainfall durations and the scale of basin area but have nothing to do with rainfall distributions. Sensitivity ratios turned out to have a linear relation for the infiltration and soil parameters of ILLUDAS as well as all parameters of SWMM. ronoff sensitivity ratios for almost parameters were smaller than 1.0 because the impacts of total runoff were bigger than those of peak runoff. And runoff sensitivity ratio was equal to 1.0 for the roughness coefficient of SWMM. Total runoff ratio, peak runoff ratio and runoff sensitivity ratio for the selected parameters of those models were presented asthe tables and figures according to the scale of basin area, rainfall durations such as 60, 120, and 180 minutes and Huff's 4th quartiles rainfall distributions. Deformation Measurement of Electronic Components in Mobile Device Using High Sensitivity Shadow Moiré Technique (고감도 그림자 무아레 기법을 이용한 모바일 전자부품의 변형 측정)

  • The electronic components in mobile device are composed of electronic chips and various other materials. These components become extremely thin and the constituent materials have different coefficient of thermal expansion, so that considerable warpages occurs easily due to temperature change or external load. Shadow $moir{\acute{e}}$ is non-contact, whole field technique for measuring out-of-plane displacement, but the measurement sensitivity is not less than $50{\mu}m/fringe$, which is not suitable for measuring the warpage of the electronic components. In this paper, we implemented a measurement method with enhanced sensitivity of $25{\mu}m/fringe$ by investigating and optimizing various experimental conditions of the shadow $moir{\acute{e}}$. In addition, four $moir{\acute{e}}$ fringe patterns recorded by the phase shift are processes to obtain a $moir{\acute{e}}$ fringe patterns with a sensitivity four times higher. The measurement technique is applied to small electronic components of a smart phone for measuring warpage with a high sensitivity of $5{\mu}m/fringe$ at room temperature and at the temperature of $100^{\circ}C$.

Development of Benthic Macroinvertebrates Family-Level Biotic Index for Biological Assessment on Korean Stream Environment (한국의 하천환경 평가를 위한 저서성 대형무척추동물의 과 범주 생물지수 개발)

  • In this study, a Benthic Macroinvertebrates Family Index (BMFI) was developed using 100 indicator groups (99 families including Chironomidae with 2 phena). Families were assigned a score between 1 and 10 depending on their sensitivity to organic pollution. The BMFI was composed of the sensitivity and relative abundance of the indicator taxa. Sensitivity values of each group were generally similar to Biological Monitoring Working Party (BMWP) scores or Walley, Hawkes, Paisley, Trigg (WHPT) scores of UK, Japanese BMWP scores, and the FBI tolerance values of North America. However, sensitivity values of some taxa were significantly different from those of foreign countries, which seemed to have resulted from discrepancy in species composition, difference of taxonomic classification system, or methodological difference for estimation of sensitivity. As an annual average level, BMFI showed significant correlation with concentration of 5-day biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) (correlation coefficient r = -0.80, n = 569 sites), total suspended solids (r = -0.68), and total phosphorus (r = -0.79). In addition, BMFI revealed strong correlation with Shannon-Weaver's species diversity (r = 0.85), Margalef's species richness (r = 0.85) and McNaughton's dominance (r = -0.84). Correlation between BMFI and water quality parameters or community indices such as species diversity did not show significant difference compared to that of species-level indices such as BMI (Benthic Macroinvertebrates Index). This means that BMFI is a more useful indicator in terms of easy identification of organisms. BMFI was used to assess the environmental status of 3,017 sites of Stream Ecosystem Survey conducted by the Korean Ministry of Environment between 2016 and 2018. As a result, about half of all sites appeared to be in good condition, and a quarter in poor condition.
