The purpose of this study was to examine the evaluation of fabric characteristics on the drapability, texture image and preference of blouse fabrics, and to analyze the effects of the texture image, objective and subjective drapability on the preference. As specimen, silk and polyester fabrics were collected. 52 female subjects evaluated 16 specimens with semantic differential scale of 18 fabric image and 20 sensibility. Data were analyzed through factor analysis, pearson correlational coefficient using spss win 12.0. For the evaluation, structural characteristics such as fiber contents, weave type, weight and thickness were analyzed. The results were as follows: The evaluation results of objective and subjective drapability showed differences. Sensory image factors of blouse fabrics were 'surface smoothness', 'elasticity', 'weight' and 'flexibility'. Sensibility image factors were 'elegance', 'classic', 'characteristic' and 'mannish'. 'Elegance', 'classic' and 'characteristic' of sensibility images showed high correlation with 'surface smoothness' and 'elasticity' of sensory image, also 'mannish' of sensibility image showed significant correlation with 'weight' of sensory image. The significant fabric characteristics affecting objective drapability were density, weight, thickness. The significant texture image factors affecting objective drapability were 'weight', 'flexibility' of sensory image and 'elegance' of sensibility image. On the other hand, the significant factors affecting subjective drapability were thickness of fabric characteristics and 'elegance', 'characteristic', 'mannish' of sensibility images. 'Elegance', 'characteristic' and 'classic' of sensibility image, 'elasticity' of sensory image and subjective drapability affected on the purchase preference.

This study was aimed to determine color sensibility factors for naturally dyed fabrics and to investigate their relationship with color variables such as hue and tone and dyes. Two hundreds different fabric colors prepared by a variety of natural dyeing were subjectively evaluated by color experts, which resulted in three color sensibility factors including 'Pleasant', 'Comfort', and 'Modem'. Among hues, Yellowish shade by natural dyeing was found as more pleasant and more comfort than any others. Among main tones for natural dyeing, g(grayish) and ltg(light grayish) were more felt in 'Comfort' whereas d(dull) more in 'Pleasant'. As for dyes, Gardenia Blue, Gardenia Yellow, and Anato tended to give feelings of 'Pleasant' whereas Raw Indigo and Loess did 'Comfort'.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the visual sensibility of wedding dress. There are 28 kinds of costume samples from photographs in wedding dress magazines. They were divided into simple, accent and decorative design. The Semantic Differential method was used in this study to measure them. The semantic scale was composed of 20 pairs of adjective words. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, ANOVA, MDS and regression analysis. The results are as follow; 1. Factor analysis has extracted five factors which consist of the visual sensibility of wedding dress. The factors are High quality, Cuteness, Femininity, Decoration and Modernness. 2. There were significant differences in the visual sensibility of wedding dress and demographics.3. The evaluative dimensions of the visual sensibility of wedding dress were identified by Cute-Adult and Simple-Decorative. 4. Preference was related to what are wearing-desirable, chic, cute, natural and beautiful, etc., and the wearing desire was related to what are favorite, lively, chic, special and gracious, etc. The noble sensibility was related to what are elegant, cute, feminine and chic, etc.

The purpose of this study is to objectively explain the visual sensibility of clothing pattern and develop the design of clothing pattern that satisfies the consumer's sensibility. The photos stimuli on clothing pattern are divided into source, presentation, layout and are composed of each 6 photos per chapter totally 48 photos and semantic differential bi-polar scales are consist of 27 couples sensibility words. The subjects were 400 females in the twenties. Data were analyzed by SAS. The major finds were as follows: 1. As a result of the factor analysis, 4 factors of visual sensibility were consist of Coordination, Hardness and Softness, Attention, Rhythm. 2. As to the difference of visual sensibility based on the composition of clothing pattern, there were differences Hardness and Softness, Rhythm by source and there were significant differences among 4 factors by presentation and layout. 3. According to the age and education level, there were significant differences in Attention, Rhythm and according to the consuming areas, there were significant differences in Coordination, Rhythm. 4. According to sensibility positioning, The clothing pattern was classified as soft-hard, simple-complicated. 5. As a result of the regression analysis, preference, consuming desire and satisfaction appears to be closely related. Good quality is related with total clothing image which is brought about composition of clothing pattern.
In order to identify tactile sensibility factors of traditional silk fabrics and to provide prediction models for the sensibility factors by mechanical properties, seventeen different traditional silk fabrics were evaluated in terms of both tactile sensation and sensibility by using a modified magnitude estimation line scale Gongdan and Newttong with lower values for surface roughness(SMD), bending rigidity(B), and compression resilience(RC) were rated as softer, smoother, fluffier, and more pliable in tactile sensation than any other traditional silk fabrics whereas Nobangju haying higher B, SMD, and tensile resilience(RT) was touched as crisper, more rustling, and springier. Three different tactile sensibility factors including 'Feminine', 'Natural', and 'Casual' were obtained significantly by grouping fifteen different tactile sensibility descriptors. In the prediction models sensibility 'Feminine' was explained positively by SMD, which was supported by the fact that both Gongdan and Newtton were perceived as more feminine. Sensibility 'Natural' that was felt stronger as for Myoungju and Sa was predicted negatively by both fabric thickness(T) and RT. Finally, RC, elongation at maximum load (EM), and T predicted sensibility 'Casual' negatively, which results in its higher factor scores for Myoungju and Shantung, respectively.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the sensibility images of Korean Traditional Chumoni. The detailed methodology of this study is as follows. Selections of stimuli to analyse the sensibility images of Korean Traditional Chumoni were made up of 15 stimuli. The survey has been done for the 15 slide stimuli with semantic differential hi-polar scales which are consist of 23 couples of sensibility words. The subjects were 150 female students majoring in clothing and textile. 150 male students majoring in other department and 150 female students majoring in other department in the twenties between 2001. 3. 30 and 2001. 4. 4. The obtained data were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis. ANOVA. The major finds were as follows. 1. To explain the hierarchy of the sensibility of Korean Traditional Chumoni, two image groups were classified, one is noble and characteristic image the other is splendid and intensive image. Finally it represented noble and splendid image. 2. As result of the factor analysis. 3 factors which are Attraction, Decorativeness, Gravity were found to be constructing factors for the sensibility images of Korean Traditional Chumoni. 3. By cluster analysis, 4 clusters were determined according to Korean Traditional Chumoni. Cluster 1 is splendid. multi-colored and realistic in patteren. Cluster 2 is consist of 'true chumonis' and one-colored. Cluster 3 is modal in pattern. Cluster 4 is simple without any decorations. As to the difference of image of Korean Traditional Chumoni, there were significant differences amang 3 factors by cluster Cluster 1 was found most attractive and grave. Cluster 2 was found most decorative. 4. As to the difference of image of Korean Traditional Chumoni, there were significant differences amang 3 factors by decoration. Gold foil was found most attractive and grave. Embroidery was found most decorative. 5. As to the difference of image of Korean traditional chumoni, there were differences in Decorativeness and Gravity by sex and there were differences in Attraction by major.

Nowadays human sensibility ergonomics is spotlighted as one of trends which we have pursued for improvement of humanity. Human sensibility ergonomics is a technique making human life more convenient by applying it to many kinds of products and design for environment by measuring and estimating human sensibility more qualitatively and quantitatively. The study of human sensibility can be discovered in oriental philosophy based on human being. Therefore there is an close relationship between human sensibility ergonomics and oriental philosophy. In this study, we research the sensibility factors of diagnostics by Sasang constitutional medicine, Five element properties and biorhythm by human sensibility ergonomics, and will apply the result of this study - the analyses of the difference among reaction time by using ANOVA after measuring the reaction time depending on one's individual temperament and condition- to job design.
History of the Sensibility Ergonomics is explained. Concepts, definition, and research methods on the human sensibility are proposed for systematic applications of human sensibility studies to product and environment developments. Sensibility Ergonomics was born in socio-technological environments where consumers required aesthetic and satisfactory products in addition to useful and usable ones, and manufactures were trying to develop consumer-oriented, user-friendly products. Sensibility Ergonomics is defined as "multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary processes for developing products and environment as usable, comfortable and satisfactory with the information on human sensibility." Human sensibility is functionally defined as "feelings generated when perceived sensory and information stimuli are reflected from memory which has been accumulated through personal experiences." Human sensibility is affected by at least three factors: personal, social, and cultural. Consumers evaluate products in three aspects : functional, sensorial, and cultural sensibilities. Human sensibility is personal, dynamic, and ambiguous. It is generated reflectively and intuitively against external stimuli. No Physiological responses are accompanied, and one cannot control his/her sensibility. However, the sensibility affects the decision making or behavior of the person. To understand the human sensibility many inter-disciplinary methods should be used instead of one-variable approach. Micro-scopic studies such as Questionnaire, interview, behavioral analysis, and psychophysiological experiments can be performed. In addition, social and cultural studies are essential to understand an individual's sensibility. Results of sensibility studies can be applied to setup new interactions between human and machine through sensible(or affective) human-machine (computer) interfaces. Human-oriented and user-friendly products can be made with the information on human sensibility.
As sensibility ergonomics are broadly spread, recently in interior design area, interests on roles of sensibility, sensibility effects for users, and etc has been increased. As a study on sensibility design for interior design area, the study applied sensibility ergonomics technique to bathroom interior design. Sensibility ergonomics technique is integrated into each phase of bathroom design process in order to produce 4 design alternatives. Sensibility evaluation on design alternatives was performed for subject of designers, and analyzed the results to show the relationship between sensibility of designers and design factors and to identify characteristics of designer's sensibility structure. The results of the study are as follows. First, it's found that in the bathroom interior design of sustainable concept, uses of bright colors with white tone and floor tile creates positive sensibility responses such as delight, healthiness, spaciousness, and cheerfulness. Second, designers' sensibility structure about sustainable bathroom is composed of three axles, healthiness, eco-friendliness, and refinement. Third, designers think colors of interior and finished materials is most important, and window, artificial lighting, layout, and space size related to those is important too. The process and approach in the study might contribute to building a fundamental of sensibility design research in interior design area.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the sensibility of body exposure in contemporary fashion. 31 kinds of costume samples have been selected from photographs in fashion magazines. Those were divided into part of exposed body, the way of exposure and kinds of exposure. I have measured them by using Semantic Differential method. The subjects were 120 male and 120 female in twenties. The obtained data were analyzed by factor analysis, ANOVA, MDS and regression analysis. The results of analysis are as follow; 1. Factor analysis has extracted four factors which consist of the sensibility of body exposure. These factors are Attraction, Activity, Boldness, Simplicity. 2. There were significant differences in design of body exposure and demographics. 3. Evaluative dimensions of the sensibility of body exposure were identified by Hard-Soft, Active-Elegant. 4. Preference was related to words which are buying desirable, attractive, simple, natural, active appealed by design of body exposure costume and buying desirable was related to words which are favorite, modest, beautiful, natural appealed by mood of exposure costume.
