This study wants to know how the parents' participation in their children's physical therapy and satisfaction degree have an impact on their children's improvement of the motor function. For that purpose, a home made self filling survey was conducted of 156 cerebral palsy children's parents whose children were treated in 4 university general hospitals and 3 welfare centers from the 1st of April 2004 to the 31th of march 2005. The gross motor function was employed to evaluate the cerebral palsy children's motor function improvement. In this study, those questioned were divided into two groups according to the time of treatment. 'Group A' is consist of the patients whose parents attended to the treatment more than one hour at home. The patients who belonged to 'Group B' were treated less than one hour at home. The general features of the cerebral palsy children and their parents and the characteristics of their physical disability, the parents' participation and their satisfaction degree were examined by survey. Evaluating the difference between two groups' motor function according to their parents participation degree in the physical therapy leads to the following results. First, 'Group A' was better than 'Group B' in their satisfaction degree with the physical therapy and participation degree. Statistically 'Group A' was superior to 'Group B' in the requirements of the information and education for the children with cerebral palsy. Second, after two months of treatment, 'Group A' showed more statistically significant improvement than 'Group B' in every items as like lying in item 1, sitting in item2, crawling and kneeling in item 3, standing in item 4, walking, running, jumping in item 5. Third, parents' participation in physical therapy and satisfaction degree have some relevance to their children' motor function improvement. The satisfaction degree is related to motor function like crawling and kneeling in item 3, walking, running, jumping in item 5. It is showed that the parents' participation degree and information about handicapped children.

  • Purpose of this study is to empirically consider relation between QM activity factor and management result. For this, following 6 major variables of QM activity were established as independent variable; CEO's leadership, communication, process control, standardization, full participation and education/training while satisfaction of members and improvement of quality were established as dependent variable. And, a model was set up and hypothesis verification was conducted on the basis of data collected through questionnaires. The results are summarized as follows; First, QM factors which influenced satisfaction of members in management result were CEO's leadership, communication, process control, full participation and education/training but 'standardization' factor was not statistically significant. Second, QM factors which influenced improvement of quality in management result were CEO's leadership, communication, standardization, full participation and education/training but 'process control' factor was not statistically significant. Third, among main factors of QM activity, the factor which preferentially influenced satisfaction of members was 'full participation' factor while the factor which preferentially influenced improvement of quality was 'standardization' factor. According to such results, it is required to seek a statistical method regarding QM activity with focus on the factor of 'full participation' and 'standardization' among other things for the purpose of satisfaction of members as well as improvement of quality. It is believed that implication of this study can be useful information to realize management result considering main factors of QM activity and that it also can be basic reference data to seek a statistical method for satisfaction of members and improvement of quality by grasping core factors having influence over QM activity.

  • Purpose: The purpose is to expand the role of local senior welfare centers as a place for intergenerational integration by analyzing the intergenerational awareness and satisfaction of participants in the intergenerational integration program. Research design, data and methodology: The empirical study conducted a survey on 205 participants (114 seniors, 91 teenagers) of the generation integration program being implemented at a senior welfare center located in Seoul. Results: Regarding the satisfaction of participants in the generation integration program, both the elderly and youth showed that the more contact they had between generations, the higher the satisfaction with participation. In the case of the elderly, the better the subjective health status, the older the respondent, and the lower the educational level, the higher the satisfaction, and the more frequently they met youth, the higher the satisfaction. On the other hand, the longer the youth participated in the program, the weaker their negative emotions toward the elderly, and the higher the degree of visits to grandparents, the higher their satisfaction with participation. Conclusions: The biggest determinant of satisfaction with the generational integration program at senior welfare centers is the intensity and frequency of contact between the elderly and youth generations.

  • As the number of smart phone users increases, many organizations begin to adopt social media rapidly to diversify communication channels with customers. Specifically, twitter, which supports instant and two-way communications between users and between organizations and users, has been adopted by many organizations as an efficient way not only to identify new customers but also to retain existing customers. However, little attention has been given to the issue on how organizations can effectively use twitter to improve customer satisfaction. To explore the issue, this study proposes two major dimensions, customer participation and organization resource utilization, which should be considered in building a utilization strategy for twitter in organizations. We then develop four different combinations along with these dimensions-follow, mention, retweet, and review types. Based on case studies of 27 organizations that use twitter, we evaluate the degrees of customer participation, resource utilization, and customer satisfaction, and examine matching or mismatching of the adoption purpose of twitter and its actual utilization. The study results reveal that organizations in the matching group show higher customer satisfaction that those in the mismatching group. This study sheds new light on twitter research by developing a new conceptual framework and using a case study approach to explore the relationship between the utilization strategy of twitter and customer satisfaction.
