  • The purposes of this study were to find out what attitude teachers have toward adopting ICT education to educational programs for gifted students, and how ready they are for carrying out ICT education for gifted students. For these purposes, this study surveyed 191 teachers that are currently working for gifted students in various school levels, from elementary schools to junior high and high schools. The major results of this study were as follow: (1) most teachers recognized that enhancing ICT-related capabilites of gifted students is very important, and (2) ICT-related activities in current education programs for gifted students are limited to the basic level, such as web searching for collecting information and making visual presentations using well-known commercial software. Based on the common recognition on the importance of ICT-related capabilites for gifted students, this study suggests that training teachers, as well as employing well-trained teachers, should be the first and most important step for ICT education for gifted students.

  • In this paper, we adjusted the feedback and learning materials for each learning based on ARCS motivation which applied DEVS methodology. We designed the ARCS professor-student model that expresses the continuous change in the student's attitude toward the class according to the student's attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. It was applied to computational thinking and data analysis classes Based on the designed model. Before and after class, the students were asked the same question and then analyzed for each part of the ARCS. It was observed that students' perceptions of Attention, Relevance, and Satisfaction were improved except for Confidence. we observed that the students themselves felt that they lacked a lot of confidence compared to other ARS through the analysis. Although, Confidence showed a 13.5% improvement after class but it was about 33% lower than the average of other ARS. However, when it was observed that students' self-confidence was 30% lower than other motivational factors it was confirmed that the part that leads C to a similar level in other ARS is necessary.

  • Due to the influence of the fourth industrial revolution in recent years, maker education is getting attention. Therefore, this study tried to propose the possibility of application (app) development education as maker education by empirically verifying the affective and cognitive effects of app development education using authoring tool. To do this, we implemented app development education in D high school in Seoul, Korea, and collected data from 41 participants. We analyzed the changes in attitudes toward SW education and creative problem-solving ability before and after the education by conducting the paired t-test, and the level of satisfaction and perceived achievement through descriptive statistics analysis. Also, the learner's responses collected through the open-ended questionnaire were analyzed qualitatively. The result showed that the attitude toward SW education and creative problem-solving ability showed statistically significant improvement after app development education using the authoring tool, and the learner's statement also supported this result. Also, satisfaction and perceived achievement after the education were relatively high. Through these results, we have empirically confirmed the effect of app development education using the authoring tool for high school students, and derived the theoretical and practical implications.

Many countries are focused on fostering AI talent to prevail in the coming technological revolution. While Korea also provides some strategies to enhance the cultivation of AI talent, it is still difficult for Korean undergraduate students to get involved in AI studies. Through on the implementation of 'Big data analysis based AI education', which allows an easier approach to AI education, this paper examined the changes in the attitudes of undergraduate students regarding general AI education. 'Big data analysis based AI education' was provided at undergraduate level for 5.5 weeks (15 hours). The attitudes of undergraduate students were analyzed by pre-postmortem. The results showed there was a significant improvement in confidence and self-directed in regard to receiving AI education. With these results, further active research to develop basic AI education that also increases confidence and self-initiative can be expected.
