  • Industrial complexes are areas where manufacturing companies are integrated, and logistics between tenant companies play a very important role, but idle resources can occur depending on the situation if each company operates independently. Accordingly, this study aimed to reduce overall logistics costs and increase corporate productivity by looking at ways to share and utilize logistics resources such as warehouses and transportation equipment to efficiently utilize logistics resources in industrial complexes and implementing a logistics sharing platform that can share these idle resources. To this end, this study conducted a research survey on the logistics status of manufacturing companies in Ulsan-Mipo Industrial Complex, based on this analysis, the necessity of logistics resource types and utilization of industrial complex resident companies, and based on this, a service model for logistics resource sharing was studied. In addition, it was intended to analyze the operational characteristics of the existing logistics system to derive improvements and to derive optimal measures to utilize information on shared idle resources. This study confirmed the importance of sharing and utilizing idle resources to optimize logistics resources in industrial complexes, and is expected to contribute to reducing logistics costs and increasing logistics efficiency of tenant companies.

  • Recently, due to emerging technologies such as radio frequency identification(RFID), global positioning system(GPS), and wireless mobile communication technologies, it is possible to build up the infrastructure for tracking and tracing product logistics data at any place and at any time. However, for implementing the infrastructure, it is necessary to develop a suitable management method for product logistics data. To this end, this study deals with a resource description framework(RDF) based modeling and application method for product logistics data in the ubiquitous environment. It will give us the capability to control product logistics data, which leads to streamline logistics operations.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the impact of information technology resources and quality of information in logistics information system on logistics performance of logistics companies. The questionnaire targets IT manager of logistics companies. In the questionnaire survey for empirical analysis, we conducted a survey and used 125 responses for statistical analysis to validate hypotheses. The results from the empirical model suggest that quality of information in logistics information system tend to be influence by IT resource. And firm's logistics performance is effected by the usefulness of quality of information in logistics information system.

  • This paper aims to explore the strategic roles of information and strategic planning capabilities for firms' performance, and to examine the direct and indirect relationships between information capability, strategic planning capability, logistics performance and competitive advantage. The present research adopts resource based theory (RBT) to explore the relationships between a firm's specific capability and its performance and employs structural equation modelling (SEM) in order to test the validation of the measurement models and examine the relationships between construct variables. The current empirical test was conducted using the data collected from logistics managers of 101 Korean electronics companies. The empirical research presents positive influential relationships between (1) information/planning formality capability and strategic planning capability; (2) strategic planning capability and logistics performance; (3) logistics performance and competitive advantage; and (4) competitive advantage and competitive position in the market.

  • Recently, many companies knock themselves out to reduce logistics costs. However, they have reached the limit on cost reducing by improving the manufacturing process. In addition, Customers are growing more and more particular about the quality. Also the firms, which provide foods & beverages manufacturer with vacant receptacles and bottles, make zealous efforts to save costs. They have tried to seek for the resolution by own investment and improving system, but they haven't found certainly substitutions. In this study, we analyze problems of the vacant receptacles manufacturers and present introduction of pool system by standardization of Packing Resource. This PPS(Packing resource Pool System) will enable to reduce logistics cost that is challenge for the receptacles & bottles manufacturers, be helpful reducing environmental disruption which are the pollution of alien substances, wasted paper sheets because the system cleans retrieved Packing resources and reuses them.

This study aims to indentify the factors that impact customer satisfaction in cold chain logistics and to analyze the relationship between the factors. A research model was established through the investigation of the previous studies. A survey was conducted targeting customers with cold chain logistics service experience, and the hypotheses were tested through structural equation modeling using AMOS 26.0. As a result, cold chain capability, including resource, logistics infrastructure, and partnership, has a significant impact on logistics service quality. The improvement of logistics service quality has a significant impact on customer satisfaction. Resource and logistics infrastructure, excluding partnership, had a significant impact on customer satisfaction. Consequently, cold chain companies need to secure various types of resources, technology levels, and infrastructure to improve logistics service quality, which can meet customer expectations and needs.

  • International trade is becoming more and more important in this age of globalization. In particular, It is very important to export for South Korea economy. An important factor in export performance is logistics firms' competitiveness and resources. Nevertheless, many scholars and researchers are overlooking the role of logistics firms in the export market. Most studies have focused only on the capability of export companies without considering the capacity of logistics companies. This paper is attempted to analyze the competitiveness of logistics which affect export performance. So this study adopts the moderated regression analysis. The results analysis shows that logistics firms' resource level were statistically significant on export performance. The moderating effect of logistics firms' resource level was found in the relationship between export performance and international orientation. Lastly, the moderating effect of the logistics services level on the relationship between export firms capacity and export performance was statically significant.
