  • In this paper, we present a new mixed type iterative process for approximating the common fixed points of single-valued nonexpansive mapping and multi-valued nonexpansive mapping in a CAT(0) space. We demonstrate strong and weak convergence theorems for the new iterative process in CAT(0) spaces, as well as numerical results to support our theorem.

  • In this paper, we prove the existence of common fixed point for a pair of α-η-ψ-Geraghty contraction type maps in complete metric spaces using new type of α-admissible. These results extend and generalize some of the previously known results.

  • A species-specific 760 base pair(bp) BamHI to EcoRI DNA fragment(fMG-2) of lipoprotein gene was isolated from a Mycoplasma gallisepticum(M gallisepticum) genomic library. Based on the DNA sequence data of fMG-2, a pair of 25bp primers was synthesized. When used in the polymerase chain reaction(PCR), 732bp DNA products were amplified from 6 standard strains and 10 field isolates of M gallisepticum, but not from 2 Mycoplasma synoviae and 7 other Mycoplasma species. The lower detection limit was 100fg of the genomic DNA. Identity of the PCR products was confirmed by comparison of patterns of restriction endonuclease analysis with AseI, DraI, EcoRV and SspI.

  • This paper describes an intelligent mirror adjustment system that rotates a pair of side mirrors and the room mirror of a car to the optimal position for a driver by using the location of the driver's pupils. A stereo vision system measures the three-dimensional coordinates of a pair of pupils by analyzing the input images of stereo B/W CCD cameras mounted on the instrument panel. This system determines the position angle of each mirror on the basis of information about the location of the pupils and rotates each mirror to the appropriate position by mirror actuators. The vision system can detect the driver's pupils regardless of whether it is daytime or nighttime by virtue of an infrared light source. Information about the pair of nostrils is used to improve the correctness of pupil detection. This system can adjust side mirrors and the room mirror automatically and rapidly by a simple interface regardless of driver replacement or driver's posture. Experiment has shown this to be a new mirror adjustment system that can make up for the weak points of previous mirror adjustment systems.

  • Insulation breakdown characteristics of an inverter surge resistant enameled wire were investigated in a twisted pair prepared with organic/inorganic hybrid nanocomposite. Organic polymer was polyesterimide-polyamideimide (EI/AI) and inorganic material was a nano-sized silica. The enamel thickness was 50 μm and the diameters of enameled copper wires were 0.75, 1.024, and 1.09 mm, respectively. There were many air gaps in a twisted pair. Therefore, when the voltage was applied to the twisted pair, enamel erosion took place in the air gap area because of partial discharge according to Paschen’s law. The insulation lifetime of the hybrid wire (HW) was 41,750 sec, which was 515.4 times more than the 81 sec of EI/AIW. In addition, the shape parameter of HW was 2.58, which was 3.4 times higher than 0.75 of EI/AIW.

  • A simple and sensitive extractive spectrophotometric method has been described for the determination of buprenorphine either in raw material or in pharmaceutical formulations. The developed method is based on the formation of a colored ion-pair complex (1 : 1 drug/dye) of buprenorphine and bromocresol green (BCG) in buffer pH 3 and extracting in chloroform. The extracted complex shows absorbance maxima at 415 nm. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range of 1.32-100.81 μ g mL-1. The proposed method has been applied successfully for the determination of drug in commercial sublingual tablets and injectable dosage form. No significant interference was observed from the excipients commonly used as pharmaceutical aids with the assay procedure.

  • Finding exclusive closest pairs in road network is very useful to real applications such as, for example, finding a closest pair between a passenger and a nearby taxi in a road network. Few studies, however, have been interested in this problem. To match two close moving objects exclusively, one object must belong to only one result pair. Because moving objects in a road network change their position continuously, it is necessary to monitor closest pair results. In this paper, we propose a methodology to monitor k exclusive closest pairs via a road network. Proposed method only updates the results which are influenced by objects' movement. We evaluated the performance of the proposed method with various real road network data. The results show that our method produces better accuracy than normal batch processing methods.

  • We propose a novel spatial multi-band-stop filter using modified multiple loop array elements to block electromagnetic waves or signals of mobile phones in public facilities. It operates at the following frequency bands: Korean cellular (824 MHz to 894 MHz), Personal Communication Service (PCS) (1.75 GHz to 1.87 GHz), and IMT-2000 (1.92 GHz to 2.17 GHz). Two frequency selective surfaces with modified multiple-loop elements are printed on the top and bottom of a pair-glass pane, which is a pair of glass panes with an air gap between them. A modified multiple-loop element with a meander line is used to make the size of the filter compact. The simulated and measured results show good agreement, which confirms the usefulness of the proposed tri-band spatial filter.
