  • A split-step time-domain model for the analysis of pulse delay characteristics through ring resonator all-pass filters (APF's) is developed and its accuracy is checked. The dependence of the delay time and pulse distortion on the coupling ratios is investigated using the model. It is observed that the bandwidth of the APF's needs to be wide enough to minimize the pulse distortion.

  • Among the members of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) protein family, only Livin and survivin have been reported to have variant forms. We have found a variant form of c-IAP2 through the interaction with the X protein of HBV using the yeast two-hybrid system. In contrast to the wild-type c-IAP2, the variant form has two stretches of sequence in the RING domain that are repeated in the C-terminus that would disrupt the RING domain. We demonstrate that the variant form has an inhibitory effect on TNF-mediated $NF-{\kappa}B$ activation unlike the wild-type c-IAP2, which increases TNFmediated $NF-{\kappa}B$ activation. These results suggest that this variant form has different activities from the wild-type and the RING domain may be involved in the regulation of TNF-induced $NF-{\kappa}B$ activation.

  • We show that R[X] is a Krull (Resp. factorial) ring if and only if R is a normal Krull (resp, factorial) ring with a finite number of minimal prime ideals if and only if R is a Krull (resp. factorial) ring with a finite number of minimal prime ideals and R(sub)M is an integral domain for every maximal ideal M of R. As a corollary, we have that if R[X] is a Krull (resp. factorial) ring and if D is a Krull (resp. factorial) overring of R, then D[X] is a Krull (resp. factorial) ring.

  • Let $R={\bigoplus}_{\alpha{\in}\Gamma}R_{\alpha}$ be a graded integral domain graded by an arbitrary grading torsionless monoid ${\Gamma}$, and ⋆ be a semistar operation on R. In this paper we define and study the graded integral domain analogue of ⋆-Nagata and Kronecker function rings of R with respect to ⋆. We say that R is a graded Pr$\ddot{u}$fer ⋆-multiplication domain if each nonzero finitely generated homogeneous ideal of R is ⋆$_f$-invertible. Using ⋆-Nagata and Kronecker function rings, we give several different equivalent conditions for R to be a graded Pr$\ddot{u}$fer ⋆-multiplication domain. In particular we give new characterizations for a graded integral domain, to be a $P{\upsilon}MD$.

  • Let A be a commutative ring. We say that A is a ZPI ring if every proper ideal of A is a finite product of prime ideals [5]. In this paper, we study when the amalgamated duplication of A along an ideal I, A ⋈ I to be a ZPI ring. We show that if I is an idempotent ideal of A, then A is a ZPI ring if and only if A ⋈ I is a ZPI ring.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity and let R[x] be the collection of polynomials with coefficients in R. There are a lot of multiplications in R[x] such that together with the usual addition, R[x] becomes a ring that contains R as a subring. These multiplications are from a class of functions ${\lambda}$ from ${\mathbb{N}}_0$ to ${\mathbb{N}}$. The trivial case when ${\lambda}(i)=1$ for all i gives the usual polynomial ring. Among nontrivial cases, there is an important one, namely, the case when ${\lambda}(i)=i!$ for all i. For this case, it gives the well-known Hurwitz polynomial ring $R_H[x]$. In this paper, we completely determine the Krull dimension of $R_H[x]$ when R is a $Pr{\ddot{u}}fer$ domain. Let R be a $Pr{\ddot{u}}fer$ domain. We show that dim $R_H[x]={\dim}\;R+1$ if R has characteristic zero and dim $R_H[x]={\dim}\;R$ otherwise.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with $1{\neq}0$ and n a positive integer. In this article, we introduce the n-Krull dimension of R, denoted $dim_n\;R$, which is the supremum of the lengths of chains of n-absorbing ideals of R. We study the n-Krull dimension in several classes of commutative rings. For example, the n-Krull dimension of an Artinian ring is finite for every positive integer n. In particular, if R is an Artinian ring with k maximal ideals and l(R) is the length of a composition series for R, then $dim_n\;R=l(R)-k$ for some positive integer n. It is proved that a Noetherian domain R is a Dedekind domain if and only if $dim_n\;R=n$ for every positive integer n if and only if $dim_2\;R=2$. It is shown that Krull's (Generalized) Principal Ideal Theorem does not hold in general when prime ideals are replaced by n-absorbing ideals for some n > 1.

  • In this paper, the concepts of ω-linked homomorphisms, the ω𝜙-operation, and DW𝜙 rings are introduced. Also the relationships between ω𝜙-ideals and ω-ideals over a ω-linked homomorphism 𝜙 : R → T are discussed. More precisely, it is shown that every ω𝜙-ideal of T is a ω-ideal of T. Besides, it is shown that if T is not a DW𝜙 ring, then T must have an infinite number of maximal ω𝜙-ideals. Finally we give an application of Cohen's Theorem over ω-factor rings, namely it is shown that an integral domain R is an SM-domain with ω-dim(R) ≤ 1, if and only if for any nonzero ω-ideal I of R, (R/I)ω is an Artinian ring, if and only if for any nonzero element α ∈ R, (R/(a))ω is an Artinian ring, if and only if for any nonzero element α ∈ R, R satisfies the descending chain condition on ω-ideals of R containing a.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity, X be an indeterminate over R, and R[X] be the polynomial ring over R. In this paper, we study when R[X] is a radically principal ideal ring. We also study the t-operation analog of a radically principal ideal domain, which is said to be t-compactly packed. Among them, we show that if R is an integrally closed domain, then R[X] is t-compactly packed if and only if R is t-compactly packed and every prime ideal Q of R[X] with Q ∩ R = (0) is radically principal.

  • Let D be an integral domain, {$X_{\alpha}$} be a nonempty set of indeterminates over D, and $D{\mathbb{[}}\{X_{\alpha}\}{\mathbb{]}_1}$ be the first type power series ring over D. We show that if D is a t-SFT $Pr{\ddot{u}}fer$ v-multiplication domain, then $D{\mathbb{[}}\{X_{\alpha}\}{\mathbb{]}}_{1_{D-\{0\}}}$ is a Krull domain, and $D{\mathbb{[}}\{X_{\alpha}\}{\mathbb{]}}_1$ is a $Pr{\ddot{u}}fer$ v-multiplication domain if and only if D is a Krull domain.
