  • Each country has tried to collect and utilize sci-tech information which is the critical factor for the technology innovation of the nation. The national science and technology information center has the main role for finding, acquiring, and utilizing S&T information scattered all over the world. Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information delivers almost 300,000 articles to the users every year. As the quantity of information increases rapidly, its source, its storage media and its delivery method become diverse. This study analyzes the user satisfaction on S&T document delivery service of the national information service center generally. The ultimate aim of this study is to improve the quality of the document delivery service and meet the users' requests in the changeable information circumstance.

  • Recently the advent of web 2.0 era is an important trend in the business environmental change. Web 2.0 era means users' active participation, share, and openness, develop 'Internet penetration into everyday life,' and change many aspects of our society. web 2.0 has been making these following changes in the socioeconomic aspects: 1) acceleration of system shift to a small quantity of multi-species production system 2) growing influence of on-line channel/information to consumers 3) various minorities' power increase in the socioeconomic sector. Web 2.0 has been making these following changes in the firms' strategies for information management: 1) increase of external knowledge and information utilization 2) amplification and reproduction of information from customers 3) change of information distribution: pursuit of two-way communication with customers 4) integration of different information/services for business transformation. Firms must squarely look at socioeconomic changes owing to web 2.0, and utilize them for firms' effective information management.

  • The EPRCA(Enhanced Proportional Rate Control Algorithm) is one of the explicit rate control algorithm recommended by the ATM forum. EPRCA algorithm is using only two threshold to buffer change is not considered for calculating ER value. In this paper to cover the shortage, two more variables are added for considering increase of buffer quantity. So calculating proper ER would avoid before getting into the congestion situation. To analysis the affect, EPRCA and proposed algorithm are compared through simulation by analysis of change of buffer length and ACR change

Comparison of Customer Satisfaction by Operation Types of Business Foodservice in Chungbuk Province (충북지역 사업체 급식소의 운영형태에 따른 고객 만족도 비교)

  • In this study, the current status of the business foodservice industry, evaluation of leftover food and customer satisfaction with foodservice at direct operation and consignment foodservice businesses in Chungbuk were examined. This study has managerial implications in terms of improving the quality and effectiveness of the business operation of the foodservice industry. The sample size of this study included 800 customers who use foodservices provided by 11 selected businesses including 6 direct operation and 5 consignment foodservice businesses. From these 800 customers, a total of 692 were used (direct operation foodservice (n=361) and consignment foodservice (n=331) businesses). The results were as follows; First, as for the main reasons for using the employee restaurants in types of direct operation and consignment foodservice business, 'the close location' had the high percentage. Approximately 41% of respondents were not satisfied with the foodservice in the employee restaurants. Second, leftover food from consignment foodservices was higher than that for direct operation foodservices. Third, there were significant differences in customer satisfaction with five areas of foodservice between the two types of food service businesses: food, sanitation, feeding environment, mealing process and information and service. Customer satisfaction in the direct operation foodservice was higher than that of the consignment foodservice. In terms of the satisfaction level of foodservices, mealing process was the highest, followed by sanitation, food, and information and service in the direct operation and consignment foodservice businesses. Overall, satisfaction with the business foodservice was affected by the customers' satisfaction in five areas of foodservices (e.g., food, sanitation, feeding environment, mealing process, information and service). Especially, 'food' and 'information and service' were important areas for determining overall customer satisfaction with foodservice. In addition, the overall satisfaction was negatively correlated with the quantity of leftover food in the direct operation and consignment foodservice business.

  • The advent of the internet has caused a number of changes in production and dissemination of science and technology information(STI). STI was mainly produced in the form of publication before the advent of the internet. The popularization of the internet, however, has induced the mass production and distribution of STI through the internet. In consequence, the importance and usefulness of on-line STI have become on a level with those of published STI. The rapid growth of quantity and quality of on-line STI forces information service organizations try their best for improving the service satisfaction. In an effort to improve the satisfaction, researchers on information management examined the classification of information resources by exploring the counterparts of bibliography and/or web information service. We examined the national standard of the classification related to science and technology and proposed a practical scheme for the classification of on-line STI resources.

  • In this paper, the traffic control scheme used by M-cancel-Get services In CMIS /CMIP, OSI network management protocol, is presented and the performance is analyzed. M -Get service which allows a multiple response functional unit is a service that searches an attribute of the managed sys-tem and the service requires a large quantity of response as its typical characteristics. At the time, management response is transmitted Irrelevant to the network condition In the managed as well as In the management system. The management system requests M Canrel-Get service which informs the canrelation of M -Get service (or Information retrieval. In case of using M-Cancel-Get service for traffic control, the point of time for traffic control is propose by the result of simulation on management response time as the number of multiple response packets is Increased. The result is analyzed by processing ratio of the network workload and the average delay time of packets. As a result, the traffic control parameters proposed in the study show superiority in its processing ratio and the average packet delay time. Especially, its performance improves as the size of background traffic density Increase.

  • In this paper, we design and implement a two-way automatic communication system using a mobile instant messenger that can provide a customized service through a real-time two-way communication using a mobile instant messaging service. Two-way automatic communication system using a mobile instant messenger can improve the quality and quantity of information in real-time update of the information through the feedback. In addition, since it is communicated by using a mobile Instant Messanger in 1:1 there is no concerns that is recognized as spam, as well as it is possible to provide customized information for each user. Two-way automatic communication system using a mobile instant messanger shows the difference of the speed according to the data input time in typing by hands in result of comparing the time to input a date and the processing speed to search a data. Therefore in category treatment, command processing and natural language processing, Category treatment way is the most excellent in aspect of data processing speed, otherwise in aspect of the total speed to combine the data input time and the processing time, the command processing way is the best method.

  • Due to the development of information technology, IT industry has become the core factor of a country competence. So we recognized the importance of information network technology as a basis of IT industry. The infrastructure and service in domestic super-highway information networks show the rapid growth both in quantity and quality because of the government programs. However, foreign information network equipment companies have most of the domestic market-share and have controlled core part of the industry, thus national companies are having a difficulty in penetrating the industry market. In this paper, we will analyze domestic super-highway information network equipment industry and make its activating plan using competitive strategy model.

  • We proposed the concatenation of logistics' Information to constructing the intelligent logistics city that is to manage efficiently cargo distribution as providing at real-time information of cargo location trace and management through the Telematics/RFID. Case of the Incheon of the "Air Logistics Hub", this area is on an increasing trend on the quantity of cargo transport of the Air & Sea cargo system until 2006. As intelligent project of the Air's and the Sea's field is independently developed at each area, it is a problem on the concatenation of logistics' information such as freight location trace and management, operation management and route information of cargo vehicles. Therefore, we propose the advanced transport service model for the concatenating smoothly of Air & Sea cargo system. In this paper, we only manage the model of Air & Sea cargo system of the advance logistics city.
