  • In this paper, the modification of double projection method for the adaptive analysis of Element-free Galerkin(EFG) method were proposed. As results of the double projection method, the smoothed error profile that is adequate for adaptive analysis was obtained by re-projection of error that means the differences of EFG stress and projected stress. However, it was found that the efficiency of double projection method is degraded as increase of the numerical integration order. Since, the iterative refinement to single step error estimation made the same effect as increasing of integration order, the application of the iterative refinement base on double projection method could be produced the inadequately refined analysis model. To overcome this defect, a modified scheme of double projection were proposed. In the numerical example, the results did not show degradation of double projection effect in iterative refinement and the efficiency of proposed scheme were proved.

  • In the case of the image reconstruction from unknown projection data such as imaging the object with opaque obstructions, conventional reconstruction algorithms may reconstruct a degraded image. In this paper, a new method for the estimation of the unknown projection data based on known projection data and the bandwidth of projection data is proposed. The proposed method successfully estimates the unknown projection data through iterative transformation between projection space and frequency space using the known projection data and the bandwidth of the projection data. Computer simulation shows that the proposed method significantly improves image quality and convergence behavior over conventional algorithms. In addition, the proposed method is successfully applied to ultrasound attenuation CT using a sponge phantom.

  • For solving symmetric systems of linear equations, it is shown that a new Krylov subspace method can be obtained. The new approach is one of the projection methods, and we call it the projection method for convenience in this paper. The projection method maintains the residual vector like simpler GMRES, symmetric QMR, SYMMLQ, and MINRES. By studying the quasiminimal residual method, we show that an extended projection method and the scaled symmetric QMR method are equivalent.

  • For a dynamic analysis of a constrained multibody system, it is necessary to have a routine for satisfying kinematic constraints. LU decomposition scheme, which is used to divide coordinates into dependent and independent coordinates, is efficient but has great difficulty near the singular configuration. Other method such as the projection matrix, which is more stable near a singular configuration, takes longer simulation time due to the large amount of calculation for decomposition. In this paper, the row space and the null space of the Jacobian matrix are proposed by using the pseudo-inverse method and the projection matrix. The equations of the motion of a system are replaced with independent acceleration components using the null space of the Jacobian matrix. Also a new hybrid method is proposed, combining the LU decomposition and the projection matrix. The proposed hybrid method has following advantages. (1) The simulation efficiency is preserved by the LU method during the simulation. (2) The accuracy of the solution is also achieved by the projection method near the singular configuration.

  • Even though the popularity of projection mapping continues to increase and it is being implemented in more and more settings, most current projection mapping systems are limited to special purposes, such as outdoor events, live theater and musical performances. This lack of versatility arises from the large number of projectors needed and their proper calibration. Furthermore, we cannot change the positions and poses of projectors, or their projection targets, after the projectors have been calibrated. To overcome these problems, we propose a projection mapping method using a projector robot that can perform projection mapping in more general or ubiquitous situations, such as shopping malls. We can estimate a projector's position and pose with the robot's self-localization sensors, but the accuracy of this approach remains inadequate for projection mapping. Consequently, the proposed method solves this problem by combining self-localization by robot sensors with position and pose estimation of projection targets based on a 3D model. We first obtain the projection target's 3D model and then use it to accurately estimate the target's position and pose and thus achieve accurate projection mapping with a projector robot. In addition, our proposed method performs accurate projection mapping even after a projection target has been moved, which often occur in shopping malls. In this paper, we employ Ubiquitous Display (UD), which we are researching as a projector robot, to experimentally evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • The back projection histogram method has been proposed as the method to construct an image from waves reflected from a buried object for subsurface radar. This method is compose of two phases, i.e., a back projection image construction process and a back projection image superposition process. A simulation analysis of this method has been studied. In this paper, an experimental study is demonstrated in air as the homogeneous Held using three cylinders as buried objects.

  • In this article, some projection methods (or fractional-step methods) are proposed and analyzed for the micropolar Navier-Stokes equations (MNSE). These methods allow us to decouple the MNSE system into two sub-problems at each timestep, one is the linear and angular velocities system, the other is the pressure system. Both first-order and second-order projection methods are considered. For the classical first-order projection scheme, the stability and error estimates for the linear and angular velocities and the pressure are established rigorously. In addition, a modified first-order projection scheme which leads to some improved error estimates is also proposed and analyzed. We also present the second-order projection method which is unconditionally stable. Ample numerical experiments are performed to confirm the theoretical predictions and demonstrate the efficiency of the methods.

  • The purpose of this paper is to show the graphic representation of a linear programming problem by a projection method. First, we develop a projection method which conserves the optimality in the projected space, and next we introduce an algorithm to visualize the feasible solution set and the solution process by the projection method. Finally, we give an example to represent a 4-dimensional linear programming problem graphically.

  • The methodology in historical demography comprises the three core areas the family reconstitution method at the Institut National d' Ftudes Demographiques(I.N.E.D), the back projection at the Cambridge Group for the History of PopuJation and Social Struc-ture(HPSS). and the household-pattern analysis at the Cambridge Group and at the California Institute of Technology. The paper presents an outline of the family reconstitu-tion method and discusses the problems, both theoretical and methodological, arising from the problematic back projection vis-a-vis the usual inverse projection developed by Ronald D. Lee at Berkeley. Recent developments in the tield of the generalized inverse projection method designed 10 supplement the defects in the back projection and the inverse projection are presented. and for ease of explanation of the parish register data for the family reconstitution form (FRE). pre-modern Korean household register data are presented along with the parish register data of England and Wales that constitute the backbone of historical demography in pre-modern Europe. Possibilities of exploring the household pattern analysis method based on the Laslett-Hammel classification scheme for the mid-eighteenth-century Korean household register data are suggested.
