  • We are taking advantage of the information and communications technology in every field of life at the moment. At this point of view, it is necessary to verify how the information technology performing properly in the education field. This paper is to analyze it and point out the problems in the significant programing study and map out the utilizing of Robot programing education based on the computer principle education. Therefore it is contributed to raise ingenuity, ability to think, problem-solving ability for the students as replacing old programing education with Robot programing education.

  • In this paper, it is practically difficult to obtain programming language education without having an algorithmic thinking ability, computing thinking ability, and problem solving ability of students with relatively low basic education. The results showed that students who took program language education in parallel with the EPL(Educational Programing Language), Scratch, compared to without using Scratch found to be helpful in improving their programming amd computing thinking ability, and problem-solving abilities as well as their satisfaction. This not only gave students confidence in their hard-thinking programming practices, but also helped prevent them from falling out of the middle.

  • Programming ability becomes an essential ability for elementary and secondary school students as well as computer science major students in modern information society. Thus, improving programming ability has long been a research project for computer scientists and teachers in IT areas. There have been many research works for improving programming ability in various ways. At first glance, emotional intelligence is generally known as humanistic intelligence, and nothing to do with computer areas. In the recent works, emotional intelligence has a correlation with various subjects. The purpose of this paper is to analyze correlation between emotional intelligence and programing ability. For this purpose, extensive survey works are carried out and statistical results are analyzed. Based on statistical analysis, it is concluded that there is a correlation between emotional intelligence and programming ability.

The Effects of Learning App Inventor Programming Education Plan for Gifted Elementary Students (초등정보영재 대상의 앱 인벤터 프로그래밍 교육의 효과)

  • Recently, the emphasis on education of informatics gifted elementary students is to make creative leader in knowledge-based society. It need the high mental faculties and problem solving ability to solve many problem situations for students. In this paper, we developed App Inventor programming education plan. We taught this plan to gifted elementary students and observed the effects of their problem solving ability, self-efficacy and achievement of programing process. In order to achieve the research goals, we designed the appropriate App Inventor programming plan for gifted elementary students and we changed the Learning Model of Renzulli's three step for gifted students to achieve this research goals. Designed learning program was utilized by twenty informatics gifted elementary students for 15 times during five weeks period. In conclusion, we confirmed that App Inventor programming education for gifted elementary students affected the problem solving ability, self-efficacy and achievement of programing process positively.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 PBL 기반 Alice 프로그래밍 학습이 초등학생의 문제해결력에 미치는 영향에 관해 연구하는 데 있다. 정보처리의 이해 영역 중 '프로그래밍의 이해와 기초'에 관한 학습 내용을 중심으로 PBL 기반 교수-학습 모형을 적용한 Alice 프로그래밍 학습을 실시한 후 실험집단과 통제집단의 문제해결력에 관한 사전 사후 검사를 실시하려고 한다.

  • When you look at computer training techniques, generally you will see an unbalanced focus towards the software applications being used. Office programs, including software applications, or simply the ability to operate has been assigned in the attempt to develop more information. Omitted, while a students thought process dealing with computer applications is usually clear and effective, the functional oriented tasks involved are time consuming.   • The digital informational era of the 21st century requires the fostering of human resource in the field of software with creativity and personality. This paper deals with the educating method in programming course for non-majors which fosters creativity for problem solving ability and personality using cooperative interaction to build communication ability. We also seek to build a model through DEVS methodology for creative problem solving and analyze the effects of programming education for the cultivation of creativity and personality. Our proposed model is expected to be used as a guide to establish creativity and personality for human resource cultivation in programming education.

  • In this study, contents of programming curriculum were designed as instrumental subjects for scientifically gifted students, not for IT gifted ones. Firstly, the programming curriculum consisted of 3 sections; Programming Understanding, Object-Oriented Programming, and Simulation Programming as a result of two semesters. Then, the lectures including project-based and problem-solving tasks were given to scientifically gifted students in a high school during one semester to verify whether they could apply the contents to studies and researches in math or science or not. As a result of this study, the students could improve numerical analysis and simulation program development capabilities in math or science as well as the problem-solving ability based on computational thinking. Moreover, it was proved that the students changed their perception about programing learning. They started to think that programing learning was necessary to studies and researches in math or science. The results of this study propose guideline to design programming curriculum as instrumental subjects for scientifically gifted students.

  • Automatic flow control system composed by hardware and software was designed and fabricated to be used as teaching tool of feedback control theory in university experimental class. This system includes hardwares like data acquisition board, flow measuring device, transmitters, and the pneumatic valve, and software like LabView program for the monitoring and control of flow rates. The system was designed as the student can see the control effect of not only set point but also disturbance changes. Also the LabView program was composed for the calculation of controller parameters of both Ziegler-Nichols and Cohen-Coon tuning. The students can apply both tuning constants and compare the control performances. This system will provide the easy way for the students to understand the function and specification of control hardwares, and to raise the programing ability of control software.

  • This method is a new experimental model for a mathematical education in Engineering students. We compare two different classes; one was recorded the lecture with scenario and the other was not. Also we set up the detailed structures in every lecture for mathematical modeling and solving parts. The purpose for a new model is 1) to improve the students's ability to solve the mathematical problem, 2) how to approach to getting a solution for each problem by system and 3) to provide the lectures anytime to students who want to study more mathematics.
