  • Objectives: This study aimed to describe the process of utilizing a mobile application for ecological momentary assessment (EMA) to collect data on stress and mood in daily life setting. Methods: A mobile application for the Android operating system was developed and installed with a set of questions regarding momentary mood and stress into a smartphone of a participant. The application sets alarms at semi-random intervals in 60-minute blocks, four times a day for 7 days. After obtaining all momentary affect and stress, the questions to assess the usability of the mobile EMA application were also administered. Results: The data were collected from 97 police officers working in Gyeonggi Province of South Korea. The mean completion rate was 60.0% ranging from 3.5% to 100%. The means of positive and negative affect were 18.34 of 28 and 19.09 of 63. The mean stress was 17.92 of 40. Participants responded that the mobile application correctly measured their affect ($4.34{\pm}0.83$) and stress ($4.48{\pm}0.62$) of 5-point Likert scale. Conclusions: Our study investigated the process of utilizing a mobile application to assess momentary affect and stress at repeated times. We found challenges regarding adherence to the research protocol, such as completion and delay of answering after alarm notification. Despite this inherent issue of adherence to the research protocol, the EMA still has advantages of reducing recall bias and assessing the actual moment of interest at multiple time points that improves ecological validity.

  • Taking top-coal caving mining face (TCCMF) as research object, this paper considers the combination of top-coal and immediate roof as cushion layer to build the solution model of support resistance based on the theory of elastic foundation beam. Meanwhile, the physical and mechanical properties of coal-rock combination influencing on strata behaviors is explored. The results illustrate that the subsidence of main roof in coal wall increases and the first weighting interval decreases with the increase of top-coal and immediate roof thicknesses as well as the decrease of top-coal and immediate roof elastic modulus. Moreover, the overlying strata reflecting on support has negative and positive relationship with top-coal thickness and immediate roof thickness, respectively. However, elastic modulus has limit influence on the dead weight of top-coal and immediate roof. As a result, it has similar roles on the increase of total support resistance and overlying strata reflecting on support in the limit range of roof control distance. In view of sensitive analysis causing the change of total support resistance, it can be regards as the rank of three components as immediate roof weight > overlying strata reflecting on support > top coal weight. Finally, combined with the monitoring data of support resistance in Qingdong 828, the validity of support resistance determined based on elastic foundation beam is demonstrated, and this method can be recommended to adopt for support type selecting in TCCMF.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the demographic and job characteristics and job satisfaction of sonographers (SONO) and radiological technologists (RT). The subjects were a total of 148 people (69 SONO, 79 RT), who had been working in clinical and hospitals. The method was conducted using a questionnaire with a total of 54 questions consisting of demographic characteristics, job characteristics, and job satisfaction. Reliability was secured with Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.6 or higher for the response of the questionnaire. For statistical analysis, descriptive statistics, cross-analysis, independent sample T-test, and correlation analysis using Pearson's correlation coefficient and Spearman's correlation coefficient were performed for each occupation. As a result, first, the SONO had more female workers than RT. They are more than three times as many in graduate school and above. Second, the SONO had 4.5 times more morning shift than the RT and no form of weekend shift. Third, the average monthly salary of the SONO is higher than that of the RT, but when a certain portion of the salary goes up, the salary no longer goes up. Fourth, satisfaction with expectations, growth desire, positive mentality, growth opportunity, job importance, organizational attachment was higher SONO than the RT, but self-efficacy was higher in RT than SONO. Last, SONO had higher educational background than RT. It is hoped that the results of this study will be able to understand the job characteristics of SONO and RT and identify the factors of job satisfaction and provide them as fundamental materials for job selection.
