Similar services, different perceptions: The gaps of satisfaction based on the level of recreation specialization

  • The golf industry has become the center of attention for recreational activities in the participant sport market; however, there has been little effort made to understand golf consumer and their consumption behavior using the concept of 'recreational specialization' which segments the golfers based on level of specialization in golf. The purpose of this study was to explore the differences in the relationships among perceived service quality, price of playing golf, overall customer satisfaction with the course, and a player's intention to revisit the same golf course based on the magnitude of recreation specialization in golf. Four public and two private golf courses from the southeastern state of the United States were randomly chosen from a list in a golf magazine. The 365 surveys among 417 participants were ultimately analyzed. Multiple group analysis was conducted in order to investigate differences in relationships among service quality, price, customer satisfaction, and revisit intentions between groups based on the level of recreation specialization. The key findings were 1) for more specialized golfers, satisfaction with price did not affect overall customer satisfaction or revisit intention, however, service quality significantly influenced both overall customer satisfaction and revisit intention, 2) for less specialized golfers, satisfaction with price significantly influenced overall customer satisfaction but did not affect revisit intention. Knowledge about which the determinants of satisfaction are different between more and less specialized golfers could provide a better understanding of how different marketing strategies should be implemented for different specialized levels of golfers.

온라인 컨벤션 서비스품질이 참가자 행동의도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Online Convention Service Quality on Participant's Behavior Intention)

  • This study aims to develop online convention service quality and examine the effect of online convention service quality on re-participation intention in the same convention and other types of online conventions. Based on an extensive literature review, the study chose five main factors of online convention service quality: human service, program service, platform service, platform aesthetics, and interaction. A total of 284 data were collected from online convention participants from July 26 to August 6, 2021. For the hypotheses test, multiple regression analysis was used. As a result, interaction and program service quality had positive effects on re-participation intention in the same convention, but except for platform aesthetic, all factors positively affected re-participation intention in other types of online conventions. This study also found that online service quality factors are more helpful in predicting the intention of re-participation in other types of online conventions rather than re-participation in the same convention. Based on the results, theoretical and practical implications were discussed

  • Purpose: This study was done to explore the relationship between expectations of the clinical ladder system (CLS), career commitment and turnover intention in nurses employed in small-medium sized hospitals. Methods: Participants were 154 nurses from 3 small-medium sized hospitals in Gyeonggi Province and Gwangju City. From February, 8 to April, 14, 2017, self-report questionnaires were collected and analyzed using frequency, t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, and Person correlation coefficients. Results: Of the participant nurses, 61% perceived the CLS as needed. The mean score for expectation of CLS, career commitment, and turnover intention on 5-point scale were 3.38, 3.17, 3.21, respectively. There were no significant differences in expectation of CLS according to general characteristics, but career commitment and turnover intention did show significant differences depending on age, position, type of work shift. Expectation of CLS correlated positively with career commitment (r=.23, p=.005), and career commitment correlated negatively with turnover intention (r=-.49, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study show that there is a need to adopt the clinical ladder system to improve career commitment.

  • This research investigates the interaction effects of factors, namely, advertiser awareness, advertisement appeal, and customer involvement and need for cognition, selected from the parties involved in public service advertisement. Manipulating the participant's involvement, attitude toward the advertisement and the advertiser and intention to donate according to 2 (awareness) X 2 (cognitive/affective appeal) factors were surveyed. In result, participants with high involvement were relatively less affected by advertiser awareness. Also, high need for cognition indicated less effect of advertiser awareness on intention to donate. Moreover, when cognitive appeal is used, advertiser awareness affected less on consumers' attitude toward the advertisement and the advertiser and intention to donate. Further issues on changing customers' attitudes and behaviors are discussed.

  • This paper develops the research model for the understanding of learner's usage intention in web based collaborative learning(WBCL) system. This model is based on the Davis' Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) and Social Interactivity Theory. Data is collected 225 University students from two different institutions. They were divided into 46 groups and asked to complete an online TOEIC preparation module using WBCL systems over 4 weeks. Data were collected at three points for each participant-before, 3 weeks after, and at the end of the online module. The result show that TAM based Belief factors(Usefulness, Ease of use, Playfulenss) are important determinants of usage intention in WBCL systems. The study also found the external factors of the extended TAM to be subjective norm, leader's enthusiasm in WBCL context.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of threat perception and psychological reactance to graphic health warnings on cigarette packages on intention to quit smoking among smoking adolescents. Methods: The participants were 185 smoking adolescents attending two industrial specialized high schools, who had witnessed graphic health warnings on cigarette packages within the previous 30 days. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis using SPSS/WIN Ver. 25.0. Results: The results showed that participant threat perception (𝛽=.14, p=.037) after witnessing a cigarette warning message had a positive influence on intention to quit smoking. On the other hand, psychological reactance (𝛽=-.23, p=.001) showed a negative influence on intention to quit smoking. Conclusion: When designing and developing a message for smoking adolescents, customized messages are required to reflect teenagers' characteristics and raise threat perception and lower psychological reactance. In addition, we propose a future study be conducted to determine the influences of various psychological determinants, including self-efficacy and skills, on threat perception and psychological reactance to graphic health warnings on cigarette packages among smoking adolescents.

교대제 개선 시범사업이 간호사의 교대근무 적응, 일과 삶의 균형 및 이직의도에 미치는 효과: 혼합연구방법 (The Effects of a Shift Improvement Pilot Project on Nurses' Shift Adjustment, Work-Life Balance, and Turnover Intention: A Mixed-Methods Study)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the impact of a nurse shift improvement pilot project on nurses' shift adjustment, work-life balance, and turnover intention, as well as nurses' experiences of participating in the pilot project. Methods: An explanatory sequential mixed-methods study was performed. Survey data was collected from a total of 1,051 nurses both in participant and non-participant groups. For the qualitative study, focus group interviews were conducted with 22 nurses who participated in the shift improvement pilot, including 12 staff nurses, 7 nurse managers, and 3 substitute nurses. Results: There were significant positive effects on the key variables of nurses' shift adjustment, work-life balance, and turnover intention in the group that participated in the nurse shift improvement pilot project. Based on the qualitative study, participants in the shift improvement pilot project indicated that it enabled nurses to recover their circadian rhythm, and achieve a better work-life balance, and they wanted to continue working as a nurse, and hoped expanded application of the pilot project. Conclusion: In order for expanded implementation of the pilot project and continued improvement in the shift system, we recommend establishing compensation standard, systematizing the use of substitute nurses, developing guidelines for shift schedules, and expanding the shift improvement pilot project to other departments such as the emergency room.

Analysis on the Characterstics of Consumers on Social commerce

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of awareness on the characteristics of a consumers' social commerce. This study examines whether the characteristics of social commerce influence the purchase intentions in accommodating these types of social commerce. Research design, data, methodology - The data for the study were collected and analyzed from a sample of 126 adult customers, comprising both males and females, using social commerce. The survey was conducted and the results aggregated through distributing a copy to each participant. For statistical analysis of the data collected, SPSS 18.0 statistical package was used. Results - The results can be summarized as follows. First, the perceptions about the characteristics of Social Commerce demonstrated a significant effect for attitudes. Second, the attitudes demonstrated positive effects on purchase intention. Third, the subjective norm affected the purchase intention. Fourth, perceived behavioral control influenced the purchase intentions. Conclusions - As a result, perceptions about the characteristics of Social Commerce may be seen in the positive effects on purchase intention. Using social commerce in the future, retailers would need to increase the scope of the study, through applying more diverse characteristics of Social Commerce.

  • 본 연구는 글로벌 스포츠 이벤트에 참여하여 얻은 성공적인 결과가 외국인이 인지하는 한국인이미지, 제품이미지, 구매의도 및 방문의도에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위해 수행되었다. 모집단은 국내 대학에 재학중인 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 설정하였으며, 표본은 목적표집법을 통해 표집하였다. SPSS 12.0 프로그램을 이용하여 t검증, 회귀분석(regression analysis), 신뢰도분석(reliability analysis), 빈도분석(frequency analysis), 기술분석(descriptive analysis)을, AMOS 7.0을 이용하여 확인적 요인분석(confirmatory factor analysis)을 실시하였으며, 이러한 연구방법을 통해 도출된 결과 및 논의를 종합하여 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 글로벌 스포츠이벤트에 참여하여 좋은 성적을 거두었을 경우 외국인들이 인지하는 한국인이미지, 제품이미지, 구매의도 및 재방문 의도는 이벤트 개최 전에 비해 개최 후가 더 높다. 둘째, 글로벌 스포츠 이벤트에 참여하여 좋은 성적을 거두었을 경우 피겨스케이팅에 대한 관여도가 외국인들이 인지하는 글로벌 스포츠 이벤트 전 후의 한국인이미지, 제품이미지, 구매의도 및 재방문의도에 긍정적 영향을 미친다.

해양치유 프로그램 참여자의 지각된 유용성, 만족, 지속참여의도간 관계 분석 (Analysis of the Relationships Between the Perceived Usefulness, Satisfaction, and Continuous Participation Intention of Marine Healing Program Participants)

  • 해양치유 프로그램에 대한 관심은 코로나19 팬데믹 이후 정부와 업계 실무자 모두에서 급속도로 증가하고 있다. 그러나 아직까지 소비자 관점에서 해양치유 프로그램이나 해양치유 체험에 대한 유용성, 만족도, 편익 등을 이해하고자 시도한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이에 이 논문에서는 후기수용모델을 적용하여 해양치유 프로그램 참여자의 지각된 유용성과 기대일치, 만족, 지속참여의도 간 관계를 구조적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 자료수집은 부산시 해양치유 프로그램 운영 기간인 2022년 9~10월까지 매 주말 사전 훈련된 면접원에 의한 면접조사 방식으로 실시하였고, 총 203부의 유효 표본을 분석에 활용하였다. 분석 결과 해양치유 프로그램에 대한 기대일치는 프로그램 참여자의 만족과 프로그램의 지각된 유용성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 해양치유 프로그램 참여자 만족은 프로그램 지속참여의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 해양치유 프로그램에 대한 지각된 유용성 역시 프로그램 참여자 만족 및 지속참여의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다.
