In this study, the effects of various disk shapes of hydrant on the pressure drop are experimentally and numerically analyzed. The test methods for measuring pressure drop of hydrant are comply with standard of Underwriters Laboratory (UL). The hydrant as used in this study has one inlet, diameter 150 mm, and three outlet, 114.3 mm diameter for one outlet and 63.5 mm diameter for the others. The pressure of the hydrant are measured in the range 760 L/min~2,270 L/min for 63.5 mm outlet and 3,030 L/min~6,060 L/min for 114.3 mm outlet. Also, the numerical results of pressure drop are compared with the experiments to verify the accuracy and to analyze the of various valve shape of hydrant on the pressure drop. The engineering parameters, flow coefficients, are reduced from 181.57 to 136.35 ($L/min/kPa^{0.5}$) with inclined angle of disk from $0^{\circ}$ to $45^{\circ}$. These results are able to practical use for design hydrant to minimize pressure drop.

Metabolic engineering is now a well established discipline, used extensively to determine and execute rational strategies of strain development to improve the performance of micro-organisms employed in industrial fermentations. The basic principle of this approach is that performance of the microbial catalyst should be adequately characterised metabolically so as to clearlyidentify the metabolic network constraints, thereby identifying the most probable targets for genetic engineering and the extent to which improvements can be realistically achieved. In order to harness correctly this potential, it is clear that the physiological analysis of each strain studied needs to be undertaken under conditions as close as possible to the physico-chemical environment in which the strain evolves within the full-scale process. Furthermore, this analysis needs to be undertaken throughoutthe entire fermentation so as to take into account the changing environment in an essentially dynamic situation in which metabolic stress is accentuated by the microbial activity itself, leading to increasingly important stress response at a metabolic level. All too often these industrial fermentation constraints are overlooked, leading to identification of targets whose validity within the industrial context is at best limited. Thus the conceptual error is linked to experimental design rather than inadequate methodology. New tools are becoming available which open up new possibilities in metabolic engineering and the characterisation of complex metabolic networks. Traditionally metabolic analysis was targeted towards pre-identified genes and their corresponding enzymatic activities within pre-selected metabolic pathways. Those pathways not included at the onset were intrinsically removed from the network giving a fundamentally localised vision of pathway functionality. New tools from genome research extend this reductive approach so as to include the global characteristics of a given biological model which can now be seen as an integrated functional unit rather than a specific sub-group of biochemical reactions, thereby facilitating the resolution of complexnetworks whose exact composition cannot be estimated at the onset. This global overview of whole cell physiology enables new targets to be identified which would classically not have been suspected previously. Of course, as with all powerful analytical tools, post-genomic technology must be used carefully so as to avoid expensive errors. This is not always the case and the data obtained need to be examined carefully to avoid embarking on the study of artefacts due to poor understanding of cell biology. These basic developments and the underlying concepts will be illustrated with examples from the author's laboratory concerning the industrial production of commodity chemicals using a number of industrially important bacteria. The different levels of possibleinvestigation and the extent to which the data can be extrapolated will be highlighted together with the extent to which realistic yield targets can be attained. Genetic engineering strategies and the performance of the resulting strains will be examined within the context of the prevailing experimental conditions encountered in the industrial fermentor. Examples used will include the production of amino acids, vitamins and polysaccharides. In each case metabolic constraints can be identified and the extent to which performance can be enhanced predicted
A surface blasting method with a single tree face is currently used in Pasir Coal Mine in Indonesia. The single free face is usually the ground surface. This kind of blasting method is easy to use but inevitably causes enormous ground vibrations, which, in turn, can affect the stability of the slopes comprising the various boundaries of the open pit mine. In this regard, we decided to make a specific blasting guideline for the control of found vibrations to ensure the safety of the pit slopes and waste dumps of the mine. Firstly, we derived a prediction equation for the ground vibration levels that could be occurred during blasting in the pits. Then, we set the allowable levels of ground vibrations for the pit slopes and waste dumps as peak particle velocities of 120mm/s and 60mm/s, respectively. From the prediction equation and allowable levels, safe scaled distances were established for field use. The blast design equations for the pit slopes and waste dumps were $D_s{\geq}5\;and\;D_S{\geq}10$ respectively. We also provide several standard blasting patterns for the hole depths of $3.3{sim}8.8m$.
"Printing is an Art of reproduction & a Technique of However printing has extended its limitation from a genre of reproduction itself and now it stands on the turning point as an art such as painting or sculpture which expresses artist's originality. Early Printing has had relations in depth with press printing in terms of information recording, preservation, and transmission. It was acknowledged value in a way of information satisfaction different from how it is valued as a pure art today. But, later printing has transferred its function from a mean of reproduction to pure art due to the development of printing skills and photography invention. It can be said that the concept of modern printing is taking over its genealogy as a creative work not as just printing. Also its expression capability is widen to dimensional printing and high-tech multimedia from original tradition techniques. As we discussed above, modern painting is very open to various changes. This modern painting aspect can be seen as an extended interpretation of 'board' concept. This dissertation raises a question why monotype and monoprint couldn't secure its position in printing history in spite of numerous artists' tryouts in its way. Monotype and monoprint fundamentally based on intaglio technique in its history. Yet, its systematic study hasn't been worked out. This is because of the lack of recognition of monotype and monoprint's originality as printing. Especially in monoprint, it has known as an early stage in copperplate printing process which is an attempt to solve the technique limitation or trial work for edition. Likewise the reason why monotype and monoprint remains at the edge of printing border ambiguously is because of conceptual, technical characteristics which are against traditional printing. In traditional printing, the concept of board is important as a method of reproduction. Different from the fact, monotype and monoprint accept the form of medium 'board' conceptually out of limited condition as mentioned. Thus monotype and monoprint hasn't stand out for several reasons until late 20th century when it started come out to public as people starts to have interests that works from famous artists are actually based on monotype and monoprint. This dissertation likes to step into the monotype and monoprint theoretically which is not well known in domestic and try to study the meaning of monotype and monoprint as a printing medium which is also hasn't been considered sincerely. For this study the process follow as below. First, look into how monotype and monoprint has a concept and history. Next, check differences through comparison with traditional printing and how printing can be understood in what aspects at the same time. After, verify how monotype and monoprint have influence on the acceptance of extended concept of 'board'. This study will show the expressional possibility of monotype and monoprint which has already known as 'tableau printing' in today's situation where adventurous experiments of printing medium are going on with the development of technology.

The analysis for unsteady flow is necessary to design the hydraulic structures affected by water level and discharge changes through time. The numerical model has been generally used for unsteady flow analysis, however it is difficult to acquire field data to calibrate and validate the numerical model. Even though it is possible to collect field data for some case, high cost and labor are required and sometimes it is considered that the confidence of measured data is very low. In this case, the experimental data for unsteady flow can be used to calibrate and validate the numerical model as an alternative. Therefore, the discharge-supply system which could generate various type of unsteady flow hydrograph was developed in this study. Also, the accuracy of the unsteady flow hydrograph generated by developed dischargesupply system in the experiment was evaluated by comparing with target hydrograph. Accuracy errors and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) were analyzed for the rectangular-type hydrograph with sudden changes of flow, triangular-type hydrograph with short peak time, and bell-type flood hydrograph. As a result, the generating error of the discharge-supply system for the rectangular-type hydrograph was about 59% which was maximum error among various types. Also, it was represented that RMSE for the triangular-type hydrographs with single and double peaks were approximately corresponding to 10%. However, RMSE for the bell-type flood hydrograph was lower than 2%.

It is necessary to perform the precise analysis of unsteady flow for effective design of the side-weir detention basin installed in the river. Generally, the HEC-RAS program, which is a 1D unsteady numerical model, is mostly used to simulate the unsteady flow for rivers. However, it is difficult to have confidence of unsteady flow results simulated by HEC-RAS due to the lack of experimental data and field monitoring data for the channel with a side-weir detention basin. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to validate or verify the simulation results calculated by HEC-RAS through the experiments for the open channel with a side-weir detention basin using specially-designed unsteady discharge-supply system. The experimental cases included unsteady flows in the straight channel with and without a side-weir detention basin. Especially, for the case with a detention basin, the experiment was performed to consider only the free flow condition over the side-weir. The study results showed that values of water level and discharge obtained from HEC-RAS coincided reasonably with experimental results with the maximum error of 3% for water level and 1% for discharge in the case of the flow without the side-weir detention basin and 4% for water level and 2% for discharge with the side-weir detention basin.

Due to the amendment of the Act for Urban Parks in 2005, local governments have to establish long-range plans for securing and managing urban parks and green areas. This study aims to propose a method of setting priorities for green areas of land to be preserved before the development stage through the introduction of the concept of Green Infrastructure Assessment, and provide basic data to establish the network of urban parks and green areas by applying the GIA method to the city of Daejeon. The concept of GIA and the process of analysis have been drawn as a result of literature research and case studies. The results of this study show that an introduction of the GIA concept to set park and open space planning promotes the connection of the city planning process as well as presents very a reasonable source to facilitate sustainable development. Also, other results present a priority ranking for protection of parks and green areas as well as a means to manage potential focus areas. This study, does have research limitations such as a limited study area, scale, and conflicts between domestic and foreign computing data. Further studies need to set the planning process and examine the index survey to apply this method to various situations and areas.

Fluid conductivity logging has been applied in the boreholes to identify the permeable fi:actures and estimate the origin of saline groundwater in coast area. Fluid replacement technique measures the fluid electrical conductivity with depth at different times in a well after the borehole is first washed out with different water by passing a tube to the borehole bottom. Then formation water flows into the borehole through aquifer such as permeable fractures or porous formation during ambient or pumping condition. Measured conductivity profiles with times therefore indicate the locations of permeable zone or fractures within the open hole or the fully slotted casing hole. As a result of fluid conductivity logging for three boreholes in the study area, it is interpreted that saline groundwater is caused by seawater intrusion through fractured rock, although the effect by land reclamation partially remains. We are planning the quantitative analysis to estimate the hydraulic characteristics using fluid replacement technique, and this approach might be usefully utilized for assessing the characteristics of seawater intrusion, the design of optimal pumping, and estimating the hydraulic properties in coastal aquifer.

The propagation characteristics in parallel plate waveguide with dielectric layer having periodic metal strip pattern are investigated. PIN diode ON/OFF states are regarded as the short and open circuit, respectively, in the simulation using CST's MWS. The $11.25^{\circ}$, $22.5^{\circ}$, and $45^{\circ}$ layers which can be used for X-band 4-bit Radant lens phase shifter, are designed. The simulated results for each dielectric layer are $11.28^{\circ}$, $23.2^{\circ}$, and $46.22^{\circ}$, respectively. Also, the equivalent circuit of each layer at the operating band is realized and simulated using Agilent's ADS. The ADS simulated results are compared with the MWS simulated ones. Measured differential phase shills at the center frequency are $9.6^{\circ}$, $22.4^{\circ}$, and $43^{\circ}$, respectively.

The Internet of Things (IoT), which is emerging as a future economic growth engine, has been actively introduced in areas close to our daily lives. However, there are still IoT security threats that need to be resolved. In particular, with the spread of smart homes and smart cities, an explosive amount of closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs) have been installed. The Internet protocol (IP) information and even port numbers assigned to CCTVs are open to the public via search engines of web portals or on social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter; even with simple tools these pieces of information can be easily hacked. For this reason, a big-data analytics system is needed, capable of supporting quick responses against data, that can potentially contain risk factors to security or illegal websites that may cause social problems, by assisting in analyzing data collected by search engines and social media platforms, frequently utilized by Internet users, as well as data on illegal websites.
