  • This paper presents a miniaturized electromagnetic wave detector. The dimension is reduced down to $31{\times}18{\times}13.5mm^3$ by using common OP-AMPs for amplification and oscillation. The strength from wave radiators is indicated by a color LED; green, orange and red colors mean the low, the middle and the high level, respectively. An alarm bell rings as the wave strength becomes above high level. The detector uses 3V battery. The detector could be used for a cellular phone decoration, a necklace pendant and a key holder.

  • Stathmin 1 is a microtubule destabilizer that plays an important role in cell cycle progression, segregation of chromosomes, clonogenicity, cell motility and survival. Stathmin 1 overexpression has been reported in malignant hematopoietic cells and Stathmin 1 inhibition reduces the highly proliferative potential of leukemia cell lines. However, during the differentiation of primary hematopoietic cells, Stathmin 1 expression decreases in parallel to decreases in the proliferative potential of early hematopoietic progenitors. The scope of the present review is to survey the current knowledge and highlight future perspectives for Stathmin 1 in normal and malignant hematopoiesis, with regard to the expression, function and clinical implications of this protein.

  • This paper proposes a new passive type LED driver which satisfies the standard of power factor (PF) and total harmonic distortion (THD). The proposed passive LED driver also has high-efficiency and long-life time characteristics compared to active LED driver which is composed of op-amp, switches and so on. By using just passive components such as inductor, capacitor, and diode, it has resolved extremely short-life time and low-efficiency problems of previous LED drivers. It has achieved PF of 0.99, THD of 16.4 %, and the total efficiency of 95 %. The proposed passive LED driver is fully analyzed and verified by simulations and experiments, which results are in good agreement each other.

  • A 12b 2 MS/s cyclic ADC processing 3.3 Vpp single-ended rail-to-rail input signals is presented. The proposed ADC demonstrates an offset voltage less than 1 mV without well-known calibration and trimming techniques although power supplies are directly employed as voltage references. The SHA-free input sampling scheme and the two-stage switched op-amp discussed in this work reduce power dissipation, while the comparators based on capacitor-divided voltage references show a matched full-scale performance between two flash sub ADCs. The prototype ADC in a $0.18{\mu}m$ 1P6M CMOS demonstrates the effective number of bits of 11.48 for a 100 kHz full-scale input at 2 MS/s. The ADC with an active die area of $0.12\;mm^2$ consumes 3.6 m W at 2 MS/s and 3.3 V (analog)/1.8 V (digital).

  • In the high speed analog system satellite communication system, video signal processing and optical fiber interface circuits, GaAs high gain operational amplifier is advantageous due to obtain a high gain because of its low transconductance and other drawbacks, such as low frequency dispersion and process variation. Therefore in this paper, a circuit techniques for improving the voltage gain for GaAs MESFET amplifier is presented. Also, various types of existing current mirror and current mirror proposed are compared. To obtain the high differential gain, bootstrap gain enhancement technique is used and common mode feedback is employed in differential amplifier. The simulation results show that gain is higher than that of basic amplifier about 18.6dB, and stability and frequency performance of differential amplifier are much improved.

  • The purposee of this study is to investigate the correlation between the horizontal and vertical discrepancy of facial bones and the horizontal and vertical position of glenoid fossa. For this study, the cephalograms were taken to the adults over 18 of age(96 men and 108women). The cephalograms were divided into three groups according to the ANB angle(below 0.5 degree, 0.5 to 4.0 degree and above 38 degree), and they were divided into three groups according to the SN-MP angle(below 30 degree, 30 to 38 degree and above 38 degree). The following conclusions were obtained : 1. In the horizontal discrepancy of facial bone(ANB), the horiontal position of glenoid fossa(X) was anterior position as the order of Class II, Class I, Cias III. 2. The horizontal position of glenoid fossa(X) showed the significant correlation with ANB and SNB, but not with SNA. 3. In the vertical discrepancy of facial bone(SN-MP), thee less anglee was the greater vertical position of glenoid fossa (X) and was followed by the medium and high angle in order. 4. The vertical position of glenoid fossa(Y) showed thhat the SN-FH was the most significant correlation, and it was followed as the order of SN-FH, SN-MP and SN-OP angle. 5. There was the samllest length of anterior cranial base in the Class III malocclusion.

  • This paper proposes an architecture of $3^{rd}$ order SDM(Sigma-Delta Modulator) with delayed feed-forward path in order to reduce the power consumption and area. The proposed SDM improve the architecture of conventional $3^{rd}$ order SDM which consists of two integrators. The proposed architecture can increase the coefficient values of first stage doubly by inserting the delayed feed-forward path. Accordingly, compared with the conventional architecture, the capacitor value($C_I$) of first integrator is reduced by half. Thus, because the load capacitance of first integrator became the half of original value, the output current of first op-amp is reduced as 51% and the capacitance area of first integrator is reduced as 48%. Therefore, the proposed method can optimize the power and the area. The proposed architecture in this paper is simulated under conditions which are supply voltage of 1.8V, input signal 1Vpp/1KHz, signal bandwidth of 24KHz and sampling frequency of 2.8224MHz in the 0.18um CMOS process. The simulation results are SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) of 88.9dB and ENOB(Effective Number of Bits) of 14-bits. The total power consumption of the proposed SDM is $180{\mu}W$.

  • Recently early strength concrete has been required for economical assurance and the prevention of frost damage in winter through air reduction in construction of concrete structures. This study presented the optimum condition revealing compressive strength 5MPa which has the possibility of removal of form in 24 hours, and researched the changes of unit weight of cement types of high early strength AE water reducing agents, characteristic of compressive strength expression as cure temperature conditions and slump or airspace. Test results showed at $15^{\circ}C$ with compressive strength of 5MPa that premature removal of form was possible in case of using highly early strength PC water reducing agent with unit weight of cement 360 ; 22hours faster than 10, unit weight 360 ; 20hours faster than 7, unit weight 390 ; 18 hours faster than 4 comparing with OP water reducing agent. And at $5^{\circ}C$ in case of using highly early strength PC water reducing agent with unit weight of cement 330 ; 32hours faster than 10, unit weight 360 ; 30hours faster than 7, unit weight390 ; 27hours faster than 4 comparing with OP water reducing agent. Therefore as the temperature rises $10^{\circ}C$, compressive strength of 5MPa reaching hour shortens 10 hours.

  • The proposed modulator is designed by utilizing a conventional structure employing time division technique to realize the 4th order delta-sigma modulator using one op-amp. In order to reduce the influence of KT/C noise, the capacitance in the first and second integrators reused was chosen to be 20pF and capacitance of third and fourth integrators was designed to be 1pF. The stage variable technique in the low power reconfigurable op-amp was used to solve the stability issue due to different capacitance loads for the reduction of KT/C noise. This technique enabled the proposed modulator to reduce the power consumption of 15% with respect to the conventional one. The proposed modulator was fabricated with 0.18um CMOS N-well 1 poly 6 metal process and consumes 305uW at supply voltage of 1.8V. The measurement results demonstrated that SNDR, ENOB, DR, FoM(Walden), and FoM(Schreier) were 66.3 dB, 10.6 bits, 83 dB, 98 pJ/step, and 142.8 dB at the sampling frequency of 256kHz, oversampling ratio of 128, clock frequency of 1.024 MHz, and input frequency of 250 Hz, respectively.
