  • We present a new proof of the characterization theorem for Minkowski Pythagorean-hodograph curves in the Minkowski spaces $\mathbf{R}^{n+1,m}$. For an polynomial curves $\mathbf{s}(t)=(x_1(t),...,\;x_{n+m}(t))$, we also find Minkowski Pythagorean-hodograph curves $\mathbf{r}(t)=(x_0(t),\;x_1(t),...,\;x_{n+m}(t))$. In case m=0, Minkowski Pythagorean-hodograph curves become Pythagorean-hodograph curves in the Euclidean spaces $\mathbf{R}^{n+1}$ and Theorems in this paper hold for these Pythagorean-hodograph curves.

  • The theory of m-th root metric has been developed by H. Shimada [8], and applied to the biology [1] as an ecological metric. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the m-th root Finsler metrics which admit ($\alpha,\;\beta$)-types. Especially in cases of m = 3, 4, we give the condition for Finsler spaces with such metrics to be locally Minkowski spaces.

  • The ($\alpha,\;\beta$)-metric is a Finsler metric which is constructed from a Riemannian metric $\alpha$ and a differential 1-form $\beta$. In this paper, we discuss the projective flatness of Finsler spaces with certain ($\alpha,\;\beta$)-metrics ([5]) in a locally Minkowski space.

  • Minkowski spaces have long been investigated with respect to certain properties and substructues such as hyperbolic curves, hyperbolic angles and hyperbolic arc length. In 2009, based on these properties, Chung et al. [3] defined the basic concepts of special relativity, and thus; they interpreted the geometry of the Minkowski spaces. Then, in 2017, E. Nesovic [6] showed the geometric meaning of pseudo angles by interpreting the angle among the unit timelike, spacelike and null vectors on the Minkowski plane. In this study, we show that hyperbolic angle depends on time, t. Moreover, using this fact, we investigate the angles between the unit timelike and spacelike vectors.

  • In this paper, we study some properties of ruled surfaces in a three-dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space related to their Gaussian curvature, the second Gaussian curvature and the mean curvature. Furthermore, we examine the ruled surfaces in a three-dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space satisfying the Jacobi condition formed with those curvatures, which are called the II-W and the II-G ruled surfaces and give a classification of such ruled surfaces in a three-dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space.

  • A.H.Hamel proved the Ekeland's principle in a locally convex Hausdorff topological vector spaces by constructing the norm and applying the Ekeland's principle in Banach spaces. In this paper we show that the Ekeland's principle in a locally convex Hausdorff topological vector spaces can be proved directly by applying the famous general principle of H.Br$\acute{e}$zis and F.E.Browder.

  • Arrivals of Hilbert and Minkowski at $G\ddot{o}ttingen$ put mathematical science there in full flourish. They further extended its strong mathematical tradition of Gauss and Riemann. Though Riemann envisioned Finsler metric and gave an example of it in his inaugural lecture of 1854, Finsler geometry was officially named after Minkowski's academic grandson Finsler. His tool to generalize Riemannian geometry was the calculus of variations of which his advisor $Carath\acute{e}odory$ was a master. Another $G\ddot{o}ttingen$ graduate Busemann regraded Finsler geometry as a special case of geometry of metric spaces. He was a student of Courant who was a student of Hilbert. These figures all at $G\ddot{o}ttingen$ created and developed Finsler geometry in its early stages. In this paper, we investigate history of works on Finsler geometry contributed by these frontiers.
