최근 한우의 유전체 연구의 핵심 소재인 박테리아인공염색체(BAC; Bacterial Artificial Chromosome) 클론이 제작되었고 이에 대한 염기서열의 해독과 이를 NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information)의 소 유전체 데이터(B_tau 2.1)와 비교 분석하여 한우의 유전체지도 초안(제2 세대 한우유전체지도)이 제작되었다. 본 연구에서는 기존에 확보한 한우의 박테리아인공염색체 클론의 염기서열을 최근에 공개된 소유전체 데이터(B-tau 3.1)와 비교 분석하여 한우 유전체 지도를 최신화하기 위해 실시하였다. 제2 세대 한우유전체지도에서 총 5,105개의 클론에 대한 염색체상 위치가 결정된 반면에 제3세대 한우유전체지도에서는 총 9,595개의 클론에 대한 염색체 위치가 결정되어 약 2배 정도로 향상되었다. 또한 겹치는 부분을 제외했을 때 제3세대 한우유전체지도에 사용된 클론은 소 전체 염색체의 약 37.27%에 해당되는 부분을 커버하는 것으로 나타났다. 앞으로 추가적인 한우 클론의 염기서열 해독을 통해 얻어진 데이터를 확보한다면 한우염색체 정밀 지도의 완성과 이를 이용한 한우 개량에 유용한 유전자 발굴에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단되다.

Let $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{B}$ be two unital $C^*$-algebras. Denote by W(a) the numerical range of an element $a{\in}\mathcal{A}$. We show that the condition W(ax) = W(bx), ${\forall}x{\in}\mathcal{A}$ implies that a = b. Using this, among other results, it is proved that if ${\phi}$ : $\mathcal{A}{\rightarrow}\mathcal{B}$ is a surjective map such that $W({\phi}(a){\phi}(b){\phi}(c))=W(abc)$ for all a, b and $c{\in}\mathcal{A}$, then ${\phi}(1){\in}Z(B)$ and the map ${\psi}={\phi}(1)^2{\phi}$ is multiplicative.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of statistically sequentially quotient map which is a generalization of sequence covering map and discuss the relation with covering maps by some examples. Using this concept, we give an affirmative answer for a question by Fucai Lin and Shou Lin.

We previously reported that DA-9601, ethanol herbal extract of Artemisia asiatica, inhibited histamine and leukotriene releases in guinea pig lung mast cells activated with specific antigen/antibody reaction. This study aimed to evaluate the inhibitory effect of DA-9601 on the OVA-induced airway inflammation in allergic asthma mouse model. BALB/c mice were sensitized and challenged with OVA. DA-9601 was administered orally 1 h before every local OVA-challenge. OVA-specific serum IgE was measured by ELISA, recruitment of inflammatory cells in BAL fluids and lung tissues by Diff-Quik and H&E staining, respectively, the expressions of CD40, CD40L and VCAM-1 by immunohistochemistry, goblet cell hyperplasia by PAS staining, activities of MMPs by gelatin zymography, expressions of mRNA and proteins of cytokines by RT-PCR and ELISA, activities of MAP kinases by western blot, and activity of NF-${\kappa}B$ by EMSA. DA-9601 reduced IgE level, recruitment of inflammatory cells into the BAL fluid and lung tissues, expressions of CD40, CD40L and VCAM-1 molecules, goblet cell hyperplasia, MMPs activity, expressions of mRNA and productions of various cytokines, activities of MAP kinases and NK-${\kappa}B$ increased from OVA-challenged mice. These data suggest that DA-9601 may be developed as a clinical therapeutic agent in allergic diseases due to suppressing the airway allergic inflammation via regulation of various cellular molecules expressed by MAP kinases/NF-${\kappa}B$ pathway.

A CW complex B is said to be I-trivial if there does not exist a $\mathbb{Z}_2$-map from $S^{i-1}$ to S(${\alpha}$) for any vector bundle ${\alpha}$ over B a any integer i with i > dim ${\alpha}$. In this paper, we consider the question of determining whether $\Sigma^k\mathbb{R}P^n$ is I-trivial or not, and to this question we give complete answers when k $\neq$ 1, 3, 8 and partial answers when k = 1, 3, 8. A CW complex B is I-trivial if it is "W-trivial", that is, if for every vector bundle over B, all the Stiefel-Whitney classes vanish. We find, as a result, that $\Sigma^k\mathbb{R}P^n$ is a counterexample to the converse of th statement when k = 2, 4 or 8 and n $\geq$ 2k.

The disjoint union of mapping class groups of surfaces forms a braided monoidal category $\mathcal{M}$, as the disjoint union of the braid groups $\mathcal{B}$ does. We give a concrete and geometric meaning of the braidings ${\beta}_{r,s}$ in $\mathcal{M}$. Moreover, we find a set of elements in the mapping class groups which correspond to the standard generators of the braid groups. Using this, we can define an obvious map ${\phi}\;:\;B_g{\rightarrow}{\Gamma}_{g,1}$. We show that this map ${\phi}$ is injective and nongeometric in the sense of Wajnryb. Since this map extends to a braided monoidal functor ${\Phi}\;:\;\mathcal{B}{\rightarrow}\mathcal{M}$, the integral homology homomorphism induced by ${\phi}$ is trivial in the stable range.

We prove the global (in time) vorticity existence for the 2-D Euler equations of a perfect incompressible fluid in $B^0_{{\infty},1}({\mathbb{R}}^2){\cap}L^p({\mathbb{R}}^2)$ with 1 < p < 2. Moreover, we prove that the particle trajectory map X(x, t) satisfies the following estimate: for some positive constant C $${\parallel}X^{\pm1}(\cdot,\;t)-id(\cdot){\parallel}_{B^1_{\infty,1}}{\leq}Ce^{e^{Ct}}$$, where id represents the identity map on ${\mathbb{R}}^2$.

본 논문에서는 JPEG2000 부호화 시스템의 과도한 메모리 요구 사항을 감소시키기 위해 예측 부호화 기반의 새로운 임베디드 압축(Embedded Compression, EC) 알고리즘을 제안한다. 본 논문의 EC 기법은 EC가 적용되지 않은 DWT 프로세서와 비교하여 DWT 과정에서 발생하는 임시적인 저주파 웨이블릿 계수들의 메모리 접근 및 크기를 50 %로 줄일 수 있다. 무손실의 영상 압축 시스템에 널리 쓰이면서 단순하지만 좋은 성능을 갖는 LOCO-I(LOw COmplexity LOssless COmpression for Image)와 MAP(Median Adaptive Predictor) 예측기를 제안한 EC 알고리즘에 적용하였다. 제안한 예측 기반의 EC 알고리즘은 예측 오차 값들을 인코딩하기 위하여 포워드 적응형 양자화와 고정 길이 코드를 사용한다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 예측기가 LOCO-I와 MAP인 경우, 본 논문에서 제안한 EC 알고리즘에 의한 평균적인 PSNR 저하는 각각 0.48 dB와 0.26 dB임을 알 수 있다. 선행 논문 [9]에서 제안한 하다마드 변환(MHT) 기반의 EC 알고리즘과 비교하여 평균적인 PSNR이 약 1.39 dB 향상된다.
