  • In this paper we have considered a nonautonomous predator-prey model with discrete time delay due to gestation, in which there are two prey habitats linked by isotropic migration. One prey habitat contains a predator and the other (a refuge) does not. Here, we have established some sufficient conditions on the permanence of the system by using in-equality analytical technique. By Lyapunov functional method, we have also obtained some sufficient conditions for global asymptotic stability of this model. We have observed that the per capita migration rate among two prey habitats and the time delay has no effect on the permanence of the system but it has an effect on the global asymptotic stability of this model. The aim of the analysis of this model is to identify the parameters of interest for further study, with a view to informing and assisting policy-maker in targeting prevention and treatment resources for maximum effectiveness.

  • The quality of chaotic mixing in square cavity flow was studied numerically by CFD simulation and particle tracking technique. The chaotic mixing was generated by using time-periodic electro-osmotic flow. Finite Volume Method (FVM) was employed to get the stretching and folding field in cavity domain. With adjusting the initial condition of concentration distribution, the best values of modulation period and Peclet number which gave us good mixing performance was determined precisely. From $Poicar{\acute{e}}section$and Lyapunov exponents for characteristic trajectories we find that mixing performance also depends on modulation period. The higher value of modulation period, the better mixing performance wag achieved in this case. Furthermore, the results for tracking particle trajectories were also compared between using of Bilinear Interpolation and Higher-order scheme. The values of modulation period for obtaining best mixing effect were matched between using FVM and particle tracking techniques.

  • This paper presents an adaptive flux observer to estimate stator flux linkage and stator inductances of an interior permanent-magnet synchronous machine considering magnetic saturation. The concept of static and dynamic inductances due to saturation is introduced in the machine model to describe the relationship between current and flux linkage and the relationship between their time derivatives. A flux observer designed in the stationary reference frame with constant inductance is analyzed in the rotor reference frame by a frequency-response characteristic. An adaptive algorithm for an on-line inductance estimation is proposed and a Lyapunov-based analysis is given to discuss its stability. The dynamic inductances are estimated by using Taylor approximation based on the static inductances estimated by the adaptive method. The simulation and experimental results show the feasibility and performance of the proposed technique.

  • We proposed a design technique for auto-landing guidance and control system. This technique utilizes linear controller and neural network. Main features of this technique is to use conventional linear controller and compensate for the error coming from the model uncertainties and/or reference model mismatch. In this study, the multi-perceptron neural network with single hidden layer is adopted to compensate for the errors. Glide-slope capture logic for auto-landing guidance and control system is designed in this technique. From the simulation results, it is observed that the responses of velocity and pitch angle to commands are fairly good, which are directly related to control inputs of throttle and elevator, respectively.

  • The technique of backstepping have can avoid cancellations of useful nonlinearities. It is widely used in nonlinear adaptive control. But it is difficult to use this technique for uncertain nonlinear systems. Sliding mode control has robustness and application with feedback linearization. This paper shows that the robustness can be used for back stopping technique to solve the uncertainty problem and to improve the scalar design problem using Control Lyapunov function which is the motivation of back stepping technique with recursive design for high-order systems. In the respect of SMC, the result of this paper does not need to satisfy the matching condition.

  • This paper studies the decentralized position/force control problem for constrained reconfigurable manipulator without torque sensing. A novel joint torque estimation scheme that exploits the existing structural elasticity of the manipulator joint with harmonic drive model is applied for each joint module. Based on the estimated joint torque and dynamic output feedback technique, a decentralized position/force control strategy is presented. In order to solve the problem of controller parameter perturbation, the non-fragile robust technique is introduced into the dynamic output feedback controller. Subsequently, the stability of the closed-loop system is proved using the Lyapunov theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique. Finally, two 2-DOF constrained reconfigurable manipulators with different configurations are applied to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme in numerical simulation.

  • In this paper we presents a speed controller for permanent magnet synchronous motor using adaptive backstepping technique. The adaptive backstepping technique takes system nonlinearity into account in the control system design stage. The proposed control and adaptive law is proved to be asymptotically stable by the Lyapunov stability theory.

  • In this paper cellular neural networks with continuously distributed delays are considered. Sufficient conditions for the existence and exponential stability of the almost periodic solutions are established by using fixed point theorem, Lyapunov functional method and differential inequality technique. The results of this paper are new and they complement previously known results.

  • In this paper, a dynamic output feedback controller design technique for robust decentralized stabilization of uncertain large-scale systems is presented. Based on the Lyapunov method, a sufficient condition for robust stability, is derived in terms of three linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). The solutions of the LMIs can be easily obtained using efficient convex optimization techniques.

  • In this paper, we consider the robust pole assignment for linear system with time-varying uncertainty. The considered uncertainty is an unstructured uncertainty. Based on Lyapunov stability and linear matrix inequality technique, we present a condition that guarantees the robust pole assignment inside a circular disk and the robust stability of uncertain linear systems. Finally, we show the usefulness of our results by an example.
