  • The purpose of this study was to explore the importance level, the present level, and the educational need for 21 business ethics components among 2-year and 4-year college students majoring in fashion. Survey data of 364 students (128 students of 2-year colleges and 238 students of 4-year colleges) were analyzed through descriptive statistics, Borich's needs assessment for education, The Locus for Focus model, exploratory factor analysis, and t-test. The results showed five business ethics components ranked highly as educational needs among college students: 'reducing waste', 'using vegan materials', 'using human-friendly materials', 'strengthening sustainable technologies', and 'promoting workers' rights'. Those components should be integrated into curricula of fashion majors in colleges. Students in 4-year colleges considered most of 21 business ethics components as more important than did students at 2-year colleges. More needs for education were observed by 4-year college students in eight business ethics components than by 2-year college students. In addition, a positive attitude toward business ethics education and the suitability of business ethics education were higher among 4-year college students than 2-year college students. Results provide a guideline for business ethics education by indicating a list of business ethics components that urgently needed to be adapted to fashion curricula according to each college type.

  • The purpose of this study was to conduct a needs analysis among experts regarding the curriculum in the field of new and renewable energy for the future experts. To achieve this goal, purposive sampling was employed to select 30 experts from the reginal, industrial, academic, and research sectors in the new and renewable energy field, who participated in needs surveys and expert Delphi surveys. Needs assessments for 53 courses and suitability evaluations for 6 curriculums were conducted, and comprehensive advisory opinions were gathered. Data were analyzed using t-tests, Brich's needs assessment, the locus for focus model, and content analysis methods, with the assistance of MS Office Excel 2018 and SPSS 25.0 software. The key findings include: (a) 18 courses should be given top priority for operation, while 4 courses should be considered secondarily; (b) All 6 curriculums received positive evaluations; (c) Improvements are needed in curriculum development to cater to both generalist and specialist training needs, incorporating the acquisition of new technology and project-based learning experiences. The results of this study provide implications for the development of customized curriculums in the new and renewable energy industry.

  • This study was conducted to develop core competence model for bancassurance personnel. Prior studies have conducted both FGI and specialist workshops to explore and define the necessary competencies for bancassurance personnel. As a result, 17 such competencies have been identified. A survey involving 105 bancassurance personnel from affiliated banks was conducted to compare perceived importance with retention levels of the aforementioned required competencies. SPSS 20.0, T-test, Borich analysis, and The Locus for Focus model were utilized to confirm education priority and for statistical analysis. The bancassurance personnel competencies that were rated as high in importance and retention were as follows: relationship building, interpersonal understanding, proactive execution of duties, and introspective self-confidence. In chronological order, the educational priorities for the required competencies were found to be as follows: professionalism, proposal capability, achievement orientation, and relationship building.

  • Purpose: This descriptive investigative study aimed to identify the importance, performance, and educational needs of core nursing skills among nurses working in small-and medium-sized pediatric hospitals. Methods: A survey was conducted among 132 nurses working in eight small-and medium-sized hospitals. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 27.0. Results: The average importance and performance of core nursing skills was 4.71±0.38 and 2.66±0.46 points, respectively, out of 5 points. A t-test on the difference between the IPA and Borich needs assessment showed the highest educational need for "blood transfusion therapy," and "basic CPR and defibrillator application." Additionally, according to the results of deriving the priorities of educational needs using the Borich needs assessment and locus for focus model, the highest priorities were "blood transfusion therapy," and "basic CPR and defibrillator application." Conclusion: These findings can be used as basic data to develop efficient and sequential programs to teach core nursing skills, provide better quality education, and lead the way for the future of nursing education.

  • 3-D virtual city model is becoming increasingly important for a number of GIS applications. For reconstruction of 3D building in urban area aerial images, satellite images, LIDAR data have been used mainly and most of researches related to 3-D reconstruction focus on development of method for extraction of building height and reconstruction of building. In case of automatically extracting and reconstructing of building height using only aerial images or satellite images, there are a lot of problems, such as mismatching that result from a geometric distortion of optical images. Therefore, researches of integrating optical images and existing digital map (1/1,000) has been in progress. In this paper, we focused on extracting of building height by means of interest points and vertical line locus method for reducing matching points. Also we used digital plotter in order to validate for the results in this study using aerial images (1/5,000) and existing digital map (1/1,000).

  • Background and objective: Due to the recent crisis of extinction in local areas, the mountain village promotion policy is recognized as an important task. This study examined the priorities of major policy projects in the forest sector that affect mountain village promotion. Methods: For research methods, literature search, expert advisory meetings, and a survey were conducted. The survey was conducted on 42 policy stakeholders from June 1 to August 13, 2021. The literature search was based on policy projects in the forest sector by 8 upper-level local governments including mountain villages. For questionnaire items, 173 forest policy projects were classified into 27 types through expert review, and the importance and performance of each type were rated on a 5-point Likert scale. Paired t-test, IPA, Locus for Focus model, and Borich needs assessment were used as the analysis methods, and the statistical program SPSS 21.0 was used as the analytical tool. Results: The results showed that 'creating forest-related jobs' and 'supporting cultivation of professional forestry workers' both showed high importance and performance, implying that they would show an effect in mountain village promotion. 'Creating forests for environmental improvement', 'discovering forest cultural assets' 'establishing and boosting forest tourism', 'providing forest therapy services', 'creating forest-related jobs', 'supporting community revitalization', and 'urban-rural exchanges' were found to be the types that needed improvement and concentration for mountain village promotion. In particular, 'creating forests for environmental improvement' and 'discovering forest cultural assets' were derived as priority considerations for mountain village promotion policies. Conclusion: In summary, it was found that in order to promote mountain villages, various content projects must be improved and carried out to enhance the physical environment and revitalize mountain villages.

  • Countries around the world have recognized the importance of personal information protection and have discussed protecting the rights of data subjects in various forms such as laws, regulations, and guidelines. PbD (Privacy by Design) is one of the concepts that are commonly emphasized as a precautionary measure for the protection of personal information, and it is starting to attract attention as an essential element for protecting the privacy of information subjects. However, the concept of PbD to prioritize individual privacy in system development or service operation in advance is still only at the declarative level, so there is relatively little discussion on specific methods to implement it. Therefore, this study discusses which principles and rights should be prioritized to implement PbD based on the basic principles of GDPR and the rights of data subjects. This study is meaningful in that it suggests a plan for the practical implementation of PbD by presenting the privacy considerations that should be prioritized when developing systems or services in the domestic environment.
