This research has a significance on providing basic material of landscape ecological planning and open space planning of the future site by selecting Sinseo innovative city area, large residential land development district in rural area, by classifying biotope types and implementing recreational value assessment in the level of area. First of all, as a result of classification of biotope types in research site, total 11 biotope type groups including stream biotope and its subordinate 51 biotope types. Also, as a result of the first value assessment of classified biotopes, there are total 5 types such as vegetation-full natural river, fallow ground in I grade. In addition, it is analyzed that grade II have 18 types, III are 10, IV are 12, the least valuable V are 6. Especially, grassland biotope(GD) was classified into grade II, which is one grade raised, because it is analyzed that it has high value in terms of normal access and availability although it was assessed as grade ill in terms of natural experience quality. Lastly, as a result of the second assessment, special areas for natural experience and recreation(1a, 1b) are 15, areas for natural experience and recreation(2a, 2b, 2c) are 47. Especially, the 52th drawing mark space was grade II in the first assessment but its value grade was upgraded because of its high value in terms of use evidence, size of the area, accessibility with housing area, history and cultural character and so on.
The environmental conservation-targeted zoning in urban planning process has been functioned as securing a ecological core in urban green spaces management. Hence, the designation of conservation zones in land use planning is considered as a key task to achieve the sustainability of urban planning. The recently introduced pre-environmental review system for the proposed urban plan, by which the conservative measures for urban ecosystem and landscape are suggested in aspect of environmental impact mitigation, has played an active role in enhancing the environmental performance degraded by wide range of development pressure. This study is aimed at drawing out of objective criteria for designation of environmental conservation zones, which can be applied to urban planning establishment and also to environmental assessment process. To achieve this goal, the study adopted the following methods; pre-study review, analysis of existing official opinion statements released by the Ministry of Environment, contents analysis of related laws, and experts' panel discussions on the finally arranged criteria. The results of this research can be summarized as follows: First, the total criteria of 48 are drown out with categorizing into environment-ecological and socio-cultural sectosr. Second, the environment-ecological part is composed of 33 criteria such as vegetation, animal, geomorphology, watershed, environmental land suitability, and etc. Here, the Degree of Ecological Function, Degree of Environmental Land Suitability, and Vegetation Map are mainly utilized. Third, the 15 socio-cultural criteria relating to the history, social ecology and landscape have such components as forest around relics, Seo-won(school), castle, tomb, landmark, skyline, natural landscape, and etc. Forth, these individual criteria can be applied to designation of each conservation zones among total of 11 conservation areas(or districts).
In this study, in order to induce landscape-friendly various development plans established at the district level, the contents of landscape plans appearing in domestic laws and systems and related previous studies are reviewed and comparative analysis is performed to advance the district-level landscape plan. The main focus was to explore the institutional methodology for this. The summary of the research results is as follows. First of all, as a result of analysis of the landscape plan content prescribed in the National Territory Planning Act and the enforcement decree of the same Act, the landscape plan content for natural elements and the landscape plan content for artifacts appeared mixed. Next, looking at the analysis results of the landscape plan contents in the Landscape Act, the Enforcement Decree of the same Act, and the landscape plan establishment guidelines, it is analyzed that the content mainly intended to improve the artificial landscape in terms of aesthetics, such as color, lighting, and buildings. Became. As a result of analysis of the landscape plan contents in the district unit plan establishment guidelines, it was found that the contents of the landscape plan for the skyline, night view, color, advertisements, and viewpoints were presented. This study aimed to resolve issues in performance monitoring of the ecological sector of the Agricultural Environment Conservation Program through a comparative study of domestic ecological monitoring cases and to identify suitable performance monitoring methods for the project. To achieve this objective, current performance monitoring of the Agricultural Environment Conservation Program was compared and analyzed with domestic ecological monitoring cases to examine their applicability. Research results indicate that domestic ecological monitoring covers a wide range, making it difficult to diagnose the ecological environment at the village level. Therefore, it seems challenging to use these data for evaluating the performance of residents' activities. To accurately assess performances of participating villages in the project, on-site monitoring of the target areas is essential. For this purpose, efforts should be focused on strengthening on-site monitoring through the establishment of collaborative systems. However, domestic ecological monitoring can be utilized for long-term performance monitoring in the Agricultural Environment Conservation Program. By extracting necessary data on agricultural areas through geographic information and particularly by utilizing survey results according to the 'cultivated land ecosystem' type, long-term performance of the project could be evaluated. Accordingly, this study can serve as foundational research for establishing an ecological performance monitoring plan and system suited to the project.
This paper describes the ecological structure and function of riparian zone, and their historical changes with land-use. The riparian zone consists of valley floor landform and riparian vegetation. The functions discussed are attenuation of sunlight energy, input of leaves and needles, contribution of woody debris to streams, and retention of flowing material out of transport. These primary functions directly or indirectly influence water and sediment qualities of streams, bars and floodplains, and thereby aquatic biota. Temporal changes in a hydrological system and riparian ecosystem were examined with reference to land-use conversin in order to understand the linkages between these two systems in Toikanbetsu River. The influences of channelization and land-use on discharge of suspended sediment and wetland vegetation was also investigated in Kushiro Marsh. These two examples suggested that the ecological functions of riparian zone have been degraded as flood control and reclamation works have expanded in the past twenty years The author proposes river restoration planning by preserving or creating landscape elements based on the concepts of sustaining physical and ecological linkages.

The purpose of this study is to reveal network potential among agricultural villages focused on landscape and amenity resources. For this study, we conducted Social Network Analysis (SNA) utilizing existing landscape resource database. As a result of the study, major landscape types shared among villages were found for each city. For example, agricultural and residential landscapes were identified as major types for Danjin city. Add to major landscape resources, in Dangjin city, Habduk village were recognized as a core. Seokmun, Daehoji, Woogang, and Sunseong villages were widely found as the sub core group. For Seosan city, Jigok, Palbong, and Kobuk villages were widely recognized as core group. Most of villages which indicated the highest degree centrality were superior in terms of the number of total landscape resources as well as landscape type diversity. These results can be useful for initial planning process when considering major theme for landscape-based network organization. Also, this information will be helpful for planning stage through the specification of the potential role of each village in overall network.
The purpose of this study is to suggest a landscape resources evaluation strategy of rural waterfront villages along the river. This strategy consists of three phases: 1) an evaluation of rural amenity landscape resources, 2) an evaluation of water landscape resources, and 3) development of a positioning map based on the results of phase 1) and 2) the study result as follows. First, the evaluation method used in phase 1) was modified as a set of proposed evaluation indicators to assess development potential on rural waterfront villages. Second, to evaluate water landscape resources in rural waterfront villages, a series of evaluation index was developed including water area, diversity of water resources, biodiversity, and landscape quality. And the last, the positioning map showed relative position of waterfront villages obtained from two evaluation results: rural amenity landscape resources and water landscape resources. The study examined the proposed strategy as a possible alternative to evaluate landscape quality to 398 rural waterfront villages along the Han River. Landscape resources evaluation strategy proposed here could contribute to government officials and planners to operate systematic planning and management of rural waterfront villages.

This study begins by examining the reason for the lack of urban planning that takes the water cycle into consideration. While there are institutions that support environmentally friendly development or smooth water circulation, these designs are not reflected in planning nor in the real world. After reviewing foreign case studies, policy suggestions and possible policy implications for Korea are derived. In Korea, there is not a sufficient level of relevant laws or institutions systematically established to make it possible to deal with rainwater in a decentralized way. Instead, facility standards or guidelines are considered separately for the control of water and for preventing natural disasters. And even though an environmentally friendly approach is stipulated in relevant laws in terms of spatial planning, there are no planning systems or implementation tools to actualize this kind of approach. The factors that make decentralized rainwater management possible in urban planning are analyzed based on the case study of Germany. Germany requires developers to plan in order to achieve ecological urban development. In addition, as a detailed implementation tool to promote conservation of the water cycle, the law provides for various kinds of measures such as restrictions on the proportion of impervious surface area according to the use of the land, required compensation measures for environmental degradation following development, introduction of a fee for rainwater runoff and the establishment of ecological landscape planning. The actual reason these measures can be implemented however is the provision of planning guidelines and design criteria for rainwater utilization, absorption and containment, and the construction of a database for various environmental information.

Also, It is derived conclusive prototype landscape value estimating system by doing attribute assessment of preserving objects while surveying the site and interviewing professionals, Value estimating system is classified into five items of physical value which are integration, harmony, diversity, symbolism and aesthetics, The historical-cultural value are divided into four categories which are religious value, originality, historicity and scarcity, The communal values are divided into three categories which are sociality, continuing and regional locality and also divided into three categories which are rarity, primitiveness and diversity as the ecological value, Relative priority of prototype landscape value estimating system result is derived as historical-cultural value as the superior position and physical value, communal value and ecological value as the priority order. In the subordinate, historical categories are derived to be the most valuable and originality, symbolism, integration, regional locality, continuing, harmony, aesthetics, religious value, primitiveness, diversity of physical values and diversity of ecological value in order of the priority assessment The results of the study have the meaning of practical use in prior selection and preservation plan of preserving prototype landscape as practical alternative plan for systematical preservation of damaging prototype landscape.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the preference and image on landscape of before and after the restoration in the four study areas where the restoration project of Baekdudaegan ecological ridgeline was carried out and to explore the change factors of image preference according to restoration project. The study areas were Beoljae, Ihwaryeong, Bijoryeong, and Yuksimnyeong and 248 questionnaires were used for analysis. As a result of the recognition analysis on restoration project of ecological ridgeline, the awareness of the project was low at 2.63, the satisfaction of the project was 3.42, and necessity of the project was 4.07. In terms of the preference analysis for landscape photographs, the all preferences of four sites were improved after the project than before. In the result of the landscape image evaluation, images such as 'lifeless', 'uniform' and 'ugly' were high before the project, however, images such as 'clean', 'tidy', and 'stable' were high after the project. As a result of analyzing the change factors of image preference according to the restoration project, adjectives such as 'beautiful-ugly' and 'open-closed' influenced the preference change in common. These findings can be utilized as the base data for the planning direction for the construction of new ecological ridgeline or the landscape conservation of existing ecological ridgeline.
