초음파 센서를 이용한 LED 디밍 시스템조명 설계 (Design of LED Dimming Lighting System using Ultrasonic Sensor)

  • In this paper, an LED lighting system that is capable of automatic or maunal dimming control using a ultrasonic sensor and Bluetooth wireless communication technology is presented. The LED lighting system consists of a ultrasonic sensor, microcontroller unit, Bluetooth wireless communication, LED driver, and LED light source. By using the implemented LED lighting system sample, it is shown that the automatic and manual dimming control is realized. By using the ultrasonic sensor, the LED lighting is automatically brighter or dimmer depending on the distance between the sensor and an object. When using a smartphone that includes Bluetooth wireless communication function, one can not only manually control the brightness of the LED lighting from level 1 to 10, but also monitor the distance between the sensor and object on the smartphone.

  • The Light Emitting Diode(LED) lighting control system proposed in this thesis is made up of a sensor module, a microcontroller, Bluetooth wireless communication, LED Driver, and LED downlight. The sensor module, comprised of an infrared sensor, an illumination sensor, and a temperature sensor, was designed to one Printed Circuit board(PCB). The system is able to identify the environment information collected by the sensor, and make it possible to control lighting automatically and manually through sensors. In addition, depending on users' conditions, a color temperature can be controlled. CS-1000, a spectroradiometer, was employed to measure the changing values of a color temperature in 8 steps. According to a test, it was found that it was possible to change a color temperature from 3187K of Warm White LED to 5598K of Cool White LED. The Bluetooth based wireless communication technique makes it possible to control more lighting devices than other wireless communication techniques does.

  • 최근에는 물체의 움직임을 감지하는 기술은 에너지 절약, 충돌방지, 자동문 개폐 등 다양한 분야에 적용되고 있다. 도플러 센서는 기존의 적외선 센서, 초음파 센서들의 문제점을 보완할 수 있는 센서로 온도, 잡음, 먼지 등과 같은 주변 환경에 큰 영향을 받지 않는다. 본 논문에서는 24시간 점등되어 있는 LED조명등을 도플러 센서로 물체가 감지 될 때만 ON, 없을 때는 OFF상태로 전환하고, LED조명등의 조도를 2단으로 제어하는 컨버터를 개발하였다. 개발된 도플러 센서 모듈과 절전형 제어 컨버터를 주차장등에 적용하여 절전 효과를 증명하였다.

  • The color temperature flexibility-typed Lighting Emitting Diode(LED) lighting control system proposed in this thesis employs Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) technique to control the brightness of LED lighting. The LED lighting used as a light source has 20W downlight composed of two types of LED chips: one is Warm White and the other is Cool white. One multi-sensor module consisting an infrared sensor, an illumination sensor, and a temperature sensor was made, to which Bluetooth wireless communication technique was applied to enable a smartphone application to control lighting brightness and identify the information collected from the sensor. CS-1000, a spectroradiometer, was used to measure LED dimming control and the changing values of a color temperature in eight steps. According to a test, it was found that it was possible to change a color temperature from 3187K of Warm White LED to 5600K of Cool White LED.

  • 최근 저탄소 녹생성장을 위한 개발과 더불어 친화적 감성조명을 연출할 수 있는 LED 제어 IT 융합기술이 주목을 받고 있다. LED 조명 빛의 특성을 응용하여 멀티센서 및 스위칭기술, LED 광학, 인터넷 기반 원격 조명제어 등 연동 제어기술로서, 제안된 시스템은 태양광을 이용한 지능형 LED 제어 기술연구로서, 에너지의 충전 방식 개선, 배터리 SoC에 따른 제어, 겨울철 효율 개선 및 구간에 따라 LED 방전 전류를 제어하기 위해 멀티스위칭 센서를 사용하자 함이다.

Design and Implementation of LED Dimming System with Intelligent Sensor Module

  • An intelligent light emitting diode (LED) dimming system is designed and implemented for energy-saving lighting systems. An LED light bulb is powered by an LED driver controlled by a microcontroller using pulse width modulation (PWM) signals. By changing the duty cycle of the PWM signals, the LED driver generates a driving current of up to 1,000 mA. The current consumption by the LED light bulb exhibits a very linear characteristic that indicates that the level of LED dimming can be finely tuned. Multiple sensors-lighting intensity and ultrasonic range sensors-are combined with the LED dimming system to realize an automatically controllable LED lighting system. The light intensity sensor is capable of sensing ambient light. The ultrasonic range sensor can detect objects from 0.15 to 5.6 m at a resolution of 0.0254 m. The collected information by the light intensity and ultrasonic range sensors is processed by the microcontroller that in turn automatically controls the brightness of the LED light bulb. The algorithm of the software for the LED dimming system is also described.

대기전력 저감형 LED 센서 조명시스템의 개발 (Development of a Sensor-Based LED Lighting System with Low Standby Power)

  • In this paper, we propose a sensor-based LED lighting system that can significantly reduce standby powers. The proposed LED lighting system has the more advanced power circuit and control mechanism compared to existing one. The whole power circuit consists of two subcircuits. One is designed to apply electric powers to controller, PIR(Pyroelectric Infrared Ray) sensor and CdS, and the other one is designed to apply electric powers to LED module. Such a power circuit configuration makes the standby powers reduction of LED lighting system possible. From the experimental results, we confirmed that the standby powers saving performance of the developed power circuit is superior to that of the conventional one.

  • In this paper, We studied LED(Light Emitted Diode) sensor lights system using PIR(Pyroelectric Infrared Ray) sensor, CdS and MCU(Micro Controller Unit). And applied the valley fill circuit to improve the power factor. We designed the amplifier for each sensor and the LED driver for constant current which is the buck converter. Also, we proposed the algorithm of LED control by each sensors using MCU. Experimental results showed that power factor is 92% with valley fill circuit.

  • This paper proposes an IR (infrared) LED (Light Emitting Diode)-based tactile fingertip sensor that can independently measure the normal and tangential force between the hand and an object. The proposed IR LED-based tactile sensor has several advantages over other technologies, including a low price, small size, and good sensitivity. The design of the first prototype is described and some experiments are conducted to show output characteristics of the proposed sensor. Furthemore, the effectiveness of the proposed sensor is demonstrated through anti-slip control in a multifunction myoelectric hand, called the KNU Hand, which includes several novel mechanisms for improved grasping capabilities. The experimental results show that slippage was avoided by simple force control using feedback on the normal and tangential force from the proposed sensor. Thus, grasping force control was achieved without any slippage or damage to the object.

광량자센서와 분광광도계를 이용한 발광다이오우드 광량자속의 정량화 (Quantifying of Photon Flux Emitting from Light-emitting Diodes Using a Quantum Sensor and Spectroradiometer)

  • 식물묘의 생장 및 형태형성 제어용 인공광원으로서 조합광 LED 모듈을 제작하여 조합광 LED모듈의 광전기 특성을 분석하고, 광량자 센서와 분광광도계를 이용하여 LED 모듈로부터 조사된 광량자속에 대한 정량화를 시도하였다. 청색과 적생의 단색광 LED로부터 조사된 광량자속을 광량자센서로 측정한 값과 분광광도계로 측정하여 수치적으로 적분한 값을 qly한 결과 거의 일치하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 광량자센서로서 측정이 불가능한 원적색광 LED로부터의 광량자속 정량화에 분광광도계를 적용될 수 있음을 의미하는 것이다. 적생광에 원적색광을 조사하는 LED스틱의 혼합 비율을 달리한 조합광 LED 모듈의 광량지속은 원적색광을 조사하는 LED 스틱이 증가할수록 조합광 LED의 광량자속이 조금씩 증가하였다. 이러한 결과는 단위에너지당 조사된 광량지수는 파장에 비례해서 증가히기 때문인 것으로 해석된다. 이밖에 적색과 원적색광 LED 스틱의 조합 비율을 달리하였을 때 조합광 LED 모듈의 조도는 비시감도가 매우 낮은 원적색광이 차지하는 비율이 클수록 낮게 나타났다. 한편 적색광과 원적생광의 혼합 정도가 조합광 LED의 복사조도에 미치는 영향은 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다.
