The 21st century is an age of design. The design has been developed and changed globally. At the same time, each country tries to find the archetype of its own design which represents its own identity. The object of this research is to show the identity of Korean design through the analysis of dancheong, Korean traditional decorative coloring on wooden buildings and artifacts for the purpose of style. Dancheong is an important clue through which alows us to understand Korean modelling. For the purpose, dancheong of Daewoong-jeon of Mihwang-sa, Haenam, Jeollanam-do, was analyzed. This study shows that, first, dancheong has a cultural value in terms of visual as well as space, symbolic, and figurative aspect. Second, dancheong at Mihwang-sa is an essence of the visual expression which shows the aesthetics of the age. Third, dancheong does not belong to any specific religions or beliefs but shows Korean's design archetype. This study shows that dancheong exists as an archetype of our beauty and it also links national identity.

Korea has a dark age in terms of culture in the last 20th century. Korea had been struggling between the Great Powers of the world in the imperialism and had sacrifice to keep our own culture itself. Japanese imperialist's a invasion, culture liquidation by Japan, Independence from Japan, Korean war and Influence by US are major bitter historical affair after close of Chosun Dynasty in the process of modernization. Therefore Korea couldn't stay in the center of world cultural core parts and was degraded as cultural consumption country which was provided oversea culture by other countries. Then Korea couldn't develop our unique traditional idea and culture. In the meantime there are both extreme phenomena; one is expulsion of other cultures absolutely and the other is only following western culture unconditionally like trimming policy in the end of colony age. These discreet and unfiltered western culture had been influenced Korea culture over the wide range strongly and resulted in cultural colony situation to produce western imitation culture without philosophy and traditional spirit. Even though Korea has met opportunity in the culture, we called "Han Trend", no formation of own culture is main reason for psychological panic. Korea furniture design is one of parts of lost of tradition culture and typical parts in reproducing western imitation culture. As a result furniture industry's major reason for loss value as exporting industry compared to other industries result in most of the furniture products without our unique identity. This situation become more deepen unfortunately. This report would like to suggest the direction of design with global competition capability and cultural identity to boost Korean furniture design industry by comparing, analyzing and speculating between design of Chosun dynasty and philosophy of modernism in western.

The identity of a subject could be established by justifying the educational value of the subject from various angles. Despite the huge necessity of information subject as one of basic disciplines, it cannot be said that the subject is considered valuable as a school subject. Even though that is selected as part of the revised curriculum and has textbooks of its own, it's actually disregarded in school education. The purpose of this study was to discuss the value of information literary subject as part of academic education in conjunction with computer science education, and to shed light on the value and objects of it as a school subject based on the characteristics of computer science education.

This study analyzed readers' responses of children of families with immigration background on children's literature that describes similar life experiences with the readers, based on Brooks & Browne's Culturally Situated Reader Response Theory. Six children between 10 and 16 met the researcher three times each, and read along four different texts about multiculturalism in Korea. The texts include On the Road Together, a picture book, and three short stories in The Black Egg. Participating children showed various ethnic identities - identity as a Korean; identity as a foreigner; identity between a Korean and a foreigner; identity as a child of a multicultural (bicultural) family. The children empathized with the characters or showed their frustrations against racism portrayed in the texts. The four texts used in this study worked as a mirror that reflects each child's own self, and further allowed the children to contemplate their own identities and speak out about their deepest thoughts and feelings. The children were dissatisfied with the main characters' powerlessness and depressing endings of the stories. They wanted the characters with immigration background to be positive and bright, and expected stories about peaceful relationship between children of families with immigration background and children with non-immigration background.

This study looked at the factors that shaped the identity of the Bupo-dong community through Dong-gye and Sangyeo-gye, mainly in the case of Bupori, Yeah, and Adong, and to identify that Dong-gye and Sangyeo-gye, played an important role in shaping and strengthening the community culture of its members. As a result of his inspection, Bupo-dong formed and maintained his belonging and identity as a member of Bupo-dong through the Dong-gye, the town's autonomy code. We were able to confirm that bupo-dong, unlike other villages where community culture is largely destroyed, has been able to continue its own community culture as a bupo people to this day, with a sense of belonging, solidarity and intimacy through the Sangyeo-gye of cooperation and relief. And it can be seen that the fact that the Burawon space, which has symbolic meaning to the people of Bupo-dong, exists without being watered down. It is important to discuss the community culture of Bupo-dong, which is sustainable, mainly in Bura-dong, which continues to be an important cultural space for bupo-dong people to meet and town events.

From the social work practicum, social welfare major students learn practical works in the field and cultivates professional ability. Furthermore, he tries to find his fitness and own qualification as a social worker. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of supervision characteristics of social work practicum on the social welfare major student's career development. For the research, a survey of 212 students having had experience of social work practicum was conducted. The major findings in this study were as follows; Most of supervisors were female, the frequency of the supervision were regular, and supervision was offered mainly in the form of group or group and individual mixed. Students evaluated the relationship between supervisors and student was 3.20/4, supervision satisfaction measurement was 3.03/4, and students showed low level of career identity(5.80/12). By the hierarchical multiple regression, career identity was mostly affected by supervision characteristics, relationship between supervisors and student, and supervision satisfaction. This study finally discussed theoretical implications for future study and practical implications for career identity strategies on the results.

Comprehensive programming channels are based on recognition of the parent company, their parent newspaper has increased brand awareness. In this paper, the comprehensive channels to look at the structure of the channel brand architecture, a certain brand of newspapers and comprehensive channels have a effect on the formation of the image of the channel according to the future of the brand extension strategy for MPP. Referring to the brand architecture, which reveals the structural system of the brand, it is argued that TV Chosun and MBN take the integrated corporate brand strategy, while JTBC tries to mix and balance the brands of the parent corporation and its own independent one. Exceptionally, Channel A doesn't take a name of its parent corporation 'Dong-A'. It is argued that the comprehensive programming channels utilize and take the parent corporate brand, mixed brand, and independent brand in accordance with circumstances of their own parent corporates. Their parent brand of comprehensive channels give viewers a positive image and awareness of comprehensive channel brand. while building its own channel images, TV Chosun and Channel A Conservative extension of a certain brand marketers to be bound by the channel's image. Brand extension of comprehensive channels is to have the strength of their entry into the genre that is most likely higher.

Paul Auster's The Locked Room, the third novel of The New York Trilogy, has been examined by many critics in terms of anti-detective fiction or postmodernism. However, this paper focuses upon how the author adopts and utilizes some key elements of the traditional detective novel and its literary tradition. Mystery storytelling is one of Auster's literary strategies and the theme of the double is another. For his novel Auster explores the theme of the double as in Poe's "William Wilson." In The Locked Room, the narrator "I" is described as a shadow of his childhood friend Fanshawe. After Fanshawe's disappearance "I" becomes a literary agent for his friend, and becomes a husband of his friend's wife and a father of his friend's child. Searching for information to write a biography of his friend, he realizes that his friend has always been living inside his skull condemned to a mystical solitude. When Fanshawe appears in the narrator's mind as an image of the door of a locked room, the locked room is also a metaphor for the closed consciousness of the narrator. In his strategy of mystery storytelling, Auster employs the quest of detective fiction as well as the irony of Oedipus the King, where the criminal pursued by the king turns out to be himself. The Locked Room starts with the mystery of Fanshawe's disappearance, and as the novel develops, the narrator pursues numerous clues about his biographical subject like a private eye. Ironically, however, he finds that the ghost of Fanshawe has always been with him and that this is inevitable. As the narrator resolves to quit his life as a double, he contrives to name a strange man Fanshawe as if he tries to turn his biographical subject into a fictional character in the same way Fanshawe has controlled the narrator like a character in Fanshawe's novel. Beaten by the fictional Fanshawe and recovering from a near-death experience, the narrator prepares for his final showdown with Fanshawe. The transcendence of his existence as a double is epitomized by his act to tear off the red notebook handed to him by Fanshawe, which confusingly delivers a message that a life is doomed to be a failure. The narrator's act to cut off Fanshawe's influence bespeaks his breaking out of his locked consciousness and a new start for his life with his own identity.

LOD(Linked Open Data) cloud is a practical implementation of semantic web. We suggested a new method that provides identity links conveniently in LOD cloud. It also allows changes in LOD to be reflected to searching results without any omissions. LOD provides detail descriptions of entities to public in RDF triple form. RDF triple is composed of subject, predicates, and objects and presents detail description for an entity. Links in LOD cloud, named identity links, are realized by asserting entities of different RDF triples to be identical. Currently, the identity link is provided with creating a link triple explicitly in which associates its subject and object with source and target entities. Link triples are appended to LOD. With identity links, a knowledge achieves from an LOD can be expanded with different knowledge from different LODs. The goal of LOD cloud is providing opportunity of knowledge expansion to users. Appending link triples to LOD, however, has serious difficulties in discovering identity links between entities one by one notwithstanding the enormous scale of LOD. Newly added entities cannot be reflected to searching results until identity links heading for them are serialized and published to LOD cloud. Instead of creating enormous identity links, we propose LOD to prepare its own link policy. The link policy specifies a set of target LODs to link and constraints necessary to discover identity links to entities on target LODs. On searching, it becomes possible to access newly added entities and reflect them to searching results without any omissions by referencing the link policies. Link policy specifies a set of predicate pairs for discovering identity between associated entities in source and target LODs. For the link policy specification, we have suggested a set of vocabularies that conform to RDFS and OWL. Identity between entities is evaluated in accordance with a similarity of the source and the target entities' objects which have been associated with the predicates' pair in the link policy. We implemented a system "Change Acceptable In-Depth Searching System(CAIDS)". With CAIDS, user's searching request starts from depth_0 LOD, i.e. surface searching. Referencing the link policies of LODs, CAIDS proceeds in-depth searching, next LODs of next depths. To supplement identity links derived from the link policies, CAIDS uses explicit link triples as well. Following the identity links, CAIDS's in-depth searching progresses. Content of an entity obtained from depth_0 LOD expands with the contents of entities of other LODs which have been discovered to be identical to depth_0 LOD entity. Expanding content of depth_0 LOD entity without user's cognition of such other LODs is the implementation of knowledge expansion. It is the goal of LOD cloud. The more identity links in LOD cloud, the wider content expansions in LOD cloud. We have suggested a new way to create identity links abundantly and supply them to LOD cloud. Experiments on CAIDS performed against DBpedia LODs of Korea, France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. They present that CAIDS provides appropriate expansion ratio and inclusion ratio as long as degree of similarity between source and target objects is 0.8 ~ 0.9. Expansion ratio, for each depth, depicts the ratio of the entities discovered at the depth to the entities of depth_0 LOD. For each depth, inclusion ratio illustrates the ratio of the entities discovered only with explicit links to the entities discovered only with link policies. In cases of similarity degrees with under 0.8, expansion becomes excessive and thus contents become distorted. Similarity degree of 0.8 ~ 0.9 provides appropriate amount of RDF triples searched as well. Experiments have evaluated confidence degree of contents which have been expanded in accordance with in-depth searching. Confidence degree of content is directly coupled with identity ratio of an entity, which means the degree of identity to the entity of depth_0 LOD. Identity ratio of an entity is obtained by multiplying source LOD's confidence and source entity's identity ratio. By tracing the identity links in advance, LOD's confidence is evaluated in accordance with the amount of identity links incoming to the entities in the LOD. While evaluating the identity ratio, concept of identity agreement, which means that multiple identity links head to a common entity, has been considered. With the identity agreement concept, experimental results present that identity ratio decreases as depth deepens, but rebounds as the depth deepens more. For each entity, as the number of identity links increases, identity ratio rebounds early and reaches at 1 finally. We found out that more than 8 identity links for each entity would lead users to give their confidence to the contents expanded. Link policy based in-depth searching method, we proposed, is expected to contribute to abundant identity links provisions to LOD cloud.

The present paper focuses on a specific aspect of H. G. Wells' The Island of Doctor Moreau (1896), namely the issue of homosexuality, particularly as it concerns Prendick, the novel's primary narrator, and Montgomery, Moreau's assistant on the island, both of whom are implicitly associated with homosexual identity-and suggested to represent various forms of repression or acceptance-their personalities, or psyche, explored in relation to other characters on Moreau's island, particularly the Beast Folk, as well as Doctor Moreau and his treatment of the creatures as an allegory of Victorian anti-sodomy legislation and its most celebrated victim, Oscar Wilde, who had been convicted for male sodomy in 1895, only months prior to the original publication of The Island of Doctor Moreau. In addition, this paper examines an extensive series of allusions to Oscar Wilde and to late-Victorian homosexual scandals, including that author's own conviction, allusions to others involved in the affair-some of which involve situational/plot analogies, while others involve echoes or semantic associations between the names of characters in Moreau and historical figures-as well as allusions and parallels involving the most recognizably biographical of Wilde's works, The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890). The deliberate, complex web of allusions and ironic implications of homosexuality, presented in this essay, thus, expands considerably upon existing scholarly work on a range of matters concerning homosexual identity and conduct within the context of social conventions and legislation in the late-Victorian period, as well as more broadly, in scientific and humanistic terms. In this respect, one key aspect of this essay is the exploration of the novel's setting of Noble's Island, which, among other things, includes topographical allusions to nineteenth-century scientific theories of anatomical anomalies in pederasts-namely those of the eminent French forensic medical scientist, Ambroise Tardieu (1818-1879), whose underlying framework of physiological adaptation, moreover, intersected with the scientific interests of Wells and of his protagonist. Beyond this, it is shown that, in Moreau, there is as a web of allusions to homosexual practice and those same anomalies, involving the character of Montgomery and his name.
