Effect of the Calcination Temperature and Li(I) Doping on Ethanol Sensing Properties in p-Type CuO Thin Films

  • The gas response characteristic toward C2H5OH has been demonstrated in terms of copper-vacancy concentration, hole density, and microstructural factors for undoped/Li(I)-doped CuO thin films prepared by sol-gel method. For the films, both concentrations of intrinsic copper vacancies and electronic holes decrease with increasing calcination temperature from 400 to 500 to 600 ℃. Li(I) doping into CuO leads to the reduction of copper-vacancy concentration and the enhancement of hole density. The increase of calcination temperature or Li(I) doping concentration in the film increases both optical band gap energy and Cu2p binding energy, which are characterized by UV-vis-NIR and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, respectively. The overall hole density of the film is determined by the offset effect of intrinsic and extrinsic hole densities, which depend on the calcination temperature and the Li(I) doping amount, respectively. The apparent resistance of the film is determined by the concentration of the structural defects such as copper vacancies, Li(I) dopants, and grain boundaries, as well as by the hole density. As a result, it is found that the gas response value of the film sensor is directly proportional to the apparent sensor resistance.

  • Korean society frenzy about ubiquitous computing is in a rapid change into so called 'Nomadic' information environment. In many previous studies, a number of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation factors were empirically found to affect users' continuance to use mobile hand-held devices. However, the role of device attachment, a new intrinsic motivation factor with which users are known to care about their own mobile devices personally, in determining users' post-adoption behavior was not explored yet to the full scale. To fill the research void like this, this study proposes a new research model in which device attachment as well as perceived value are positively linked to satisfaction and continuance to use. The statistical results obtained by applying PLS to the valid 137 questionnaires showed that the device attachment has stronger positive influence on satisfaction and continuance to use than the perceived value. Therefore, a practical implication is suggested thai the mobile devices need 10 be designed in a way of arousing users' device attachment more strongly.

개인방송 시청자의 몰입 및 시청의도에 미치는 영향요인 연구 (A Study on Factors Influencing Immersion and Viewing Intention of Personal Broadcasting Viewers)

  • 최근 인터넷 개인방송 산업이 급격히 성장하면서 이를 운영하는 대형 플랫폼 기업, 크리에이터, 그리고 콘텐츠 자체에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 개인방송 산업의 양적성장과 더불어 관련 연구 역시 증가하고 있지만 서비스 이용자인 시청자 측면의 연구가 부족하다. 본 연구에서는 기존 연구의 한계점을 보완하기 위해 Hedonic-Motivaition System Adoption Model (HMSAM)을 적용하여 개인방송 이용자의 내재적 측면에서 시청동기를 도출하고 시청의도와 몰입에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 또한 개인방송 콘텐츠의 유형을 실시간 콘텐츠와 비실시간 콘텐츠로 구분하여 시청동기 요인의 차이를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 통제성을 제외한 이용자의 외재적, 내재적 동기가 시청의도 및 몰입에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 콘텐츠 유형에 따라 이용자의 시청의도 및 몰입에 미치는 요인의 영향력이 다르다는 것을 검증하였다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 결과를 통해 다양한 이론적, 실무적 시사점을 제시하였다.

골다공증 노인 환자의 낙상 관련요인에 관한 연구 (Factors Related to Fall in Elderly Patients with Osteoporosis)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify risk factors of fall and to examine its results among patients aged 60 and over diagnosed with osteoporosis. Methods: A retrospective descriptive survey was conducted with 91 patients admitted in a university hospital in a city. Data were collected using an interview method with a structured questionnaire, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple logistic regression. Results: In patients with osteoporosis, the intrinsic risk factors of falls were aging (OR = 3.742), gait disturbance (OR = 12.565), taking one or fewer medicine (OR = 7.873), and having two or more diseases (OR = 5.173). The extrinsic risk factors included the use of a bed (OR = 3.093), slippery floors (OR = 12.130), bathroom mat without anti-slip rubber backing (OR = 3.564), and presence of a night light on the passage from the bedroom to the bathroom (OR = 2.980). Conclusion: For the elderly aged over 70 who are most vulnerable to falls, screening tests such as bone mineral density (BMD) should be conducted in health examinations and the risk of fracture caused by osteoporosis should be communicated to the vulnerable elderly. Besides, development of new exercise programs combining weightbearing exercise is needed to prevent bone loss and increase functional activities.

과학자들의 진로선택과정에서 나타난 부각요인 (An Analysis on the Factors Affecting on the Procedures of Becoming a Scientist)

  • 과학자들의 진로선택과정에서 드러난 부각요인을 분석한 결과 개인적 특성에서 면담자의 83%는 자신의 적성이나 능력을 파악하는 능력이 부각되었다. 이러한 과학자들은 진로선택과정에서 자신의 흥미와 관심을 중요시하였으며 동시에 왜 흥미를 느끼는지에 대한 이유를 명확히 진술하였다. 학교 성적은 87%의 과학자가 초 중 고등학교 전체 성적이 상위 10%이내에 들었다. 가정환경에서는 부모의 영향이 가장 부각되었는데, 특히 진로에 대해 조언을 한 아버지의 영향이 지배적이었다. 학교환경에서 가장 부각된 요인은 교사였다. 특히 과학교사의 수업과 대학 교수의 영향이 중요하게 언급되었다. 고등학교 3학년에 진로를 결정한 경우는 고등학교 과학 교사의 영향이, 대학교 1학년 이후에 진로를 결정한 경우는 대학교 교수의 영향이 부각되었다. 사회문화적 환경에서는 미래 직업 기회와 관련된 사회적인 전망이 가장 중요하게 부각되었다. 연령이 젊을수록 자신의 적성과 능력을 파악하는 능력과 사회적인 전망을 중요시하는 것으로 드러났으며, 물리학자들은 자신의 적성과 능력을 파악하는 능력이, 화학자들은 자신의 적성과 능력을 파악하는 능력과 사회적인 전망이, 생물학자들은 사회문화적 환경의 다양한 요인들이, 공학자는 아버지의 조언과 사회적인 전망이 부각되었다. 그리고 과학자들의 진로선택과정을 분석해 본 결과 대부분 제도적으로 진로를 결정해야하는 고등학교 3학년과 대학교 1학년말에 진로를 결정하였다. 결론적으로 과학자들은 현재의 진로를 선택하면서 자신의 내부적 요인과 외부적 요인을 모두 고려하였다. 내부적 요인으로 자신의 적성과 능력을 중요하게 고려하도록 한 것에는 중고등학교 과학 교사와 대학교수의 역할이 관련되었으며, 외부적 요인인 사회적인 전망은 아버지가 진로에 대해 조언한 것과 관련되었다. 따라서 이러한 연구 결과는 우수한 과학인력을 양성하기 위해서 자신의 적성과 능력을 파악할 기회, 과학자와 과학적 연구 활동에 대한 부모의 긍정적인 인식과 전망의 제시, 우수한 능력을 지닌 교사와 교수의 확보, 과학에 대한 긍정적인 인식 등이 이뤄질 수 있는 과학교육적 환경이 필요함을 시사한다.

Motivation and Effectiveness of Participating in Theme-Based School Education of Culture Art Project: Focusing on artists and teachers

  • This study was conducted to investigate the motives and effects of artists and teachers who participated in the ' Explore Life through Art' support project for school education by theme of culture and arts. As a result of research analysis using online survey and in-depth interview research method, it was found that both intrinsic and extrinsic motives have a complex effect on artists and teachers' motivation to participate in the project. As for the effectiveness of participating in the project, the trust between artists and teachers and the contribution of education were positive, but the trust and satisfaction with the institution were negative. In order to increase the effectiveness of the project, it is required to improve the operation and management of the operating institution. Motivation and effectiveness of project participation are important factors in improving the quality of a project, and it is hoped that this study will serve as a basis for practical discussions on the role of operating institutions and projects.

Senotherapeutics and Their Molecular Mechanism for Improving Aging

  • Aging is defined as physiological dysfunction of the body and a key risk factor for human diseases. During the aging process, cellular senescence occurs in response to various extrinsic and intrinsic factors such as radiation-induced DNA damage, the activation of oncogenes, and oxidative stress. These senescent cells accumulate in many tissues and exhibit diverse phenotypes, such as resistance to apoptosis, production of senescence-associated secretory phenotype, cellular flattening, and cellular hypertrophy. They also induce abnormal dysfunction of the microenvironment and damage neighboring cells, eventually causing harmful effects in the development of various chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. Thus, pharmacological interventions targeting senescent cells, called senotherapeutics, have been extensively studied. These senotherapeutics provide a novel strategy for extending the health span and improving age-related diseases. In this review, we discuss the current progress in understanding the molecular mechanisms of senotherapeutics and provide insights for developing senotherapeutics.

  • Undeniably, endothelial cells (EC) contribute to the maintenance of the homeostasis of the organism through modulating cellular physiology, including signaling pathways, through the release of highly active molecules as well as the response to a myriad of extrinsic and intrinsic signaling factors. Review the data from the current literature on the EC role in norm and disease. Endothelium maintains a precise balance between the released molecules, where EC dysfunction arises when the endothelium actions shift toward vasoconstriction, the proinflammatory, prothrombic properties after the alteration of nitric oxide (NO) production and oxidative stress. The functions of the EC are regulated by the negative/positive feedback from the organism, through EC surface receptors, and the crosstalk between NO, adrenergic receptors, and oxidative stress. More than a hundred substances can interact with EC. The EC dysfunction is a hallmark in the emergence and progression of vascular-related pathologies. The paper concisely reviews recent advances in EC (patho) physiology. Grasping EC physiology is crucial to gauge their potential clinical utility and optimize the current therapies as well as to establish novel nanotherapeutic molecular targets include; endothelial receptors, cell adhesion molecules, integrins, signaling pathways, enzymes; peptidases.

선천성 무지 외반증 (Congenital Hallux Valgus - One Case Report -)

  • Hallux valgus is a hereditary deformity whose natural history is influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. The deformity is infrequently noticed in newborns and infants because of its trivial nature that does not draw attention. Because in childhood and adolescence this deformity usually does not lead to functional disability, it is seldom treated actively. Opinions differ concerning the causal relationship of these deformities and appropriate treatment. It is clear, however, that the deviated great toe continues to deform, and leads to a chain of anatomical and functional changes. Thus, the advantages of the immediate treatment is obvious, especially in infancy, when the foot is supple. We are reporting one case of congenital hallux valgus with brief review of literature.

Customer Coproduction and Customer Citizenship Behavior in e-Commerce

  • As customers' participation in B2C e-commerce increases, customers are getting more involved in the delivery of services, which may even go beyond the completion of service transactions. To examine such proactive extra-role online customer behavior, we delve into organizational citizenship behavior framework, which has been recently extended to examine customer citizenship behavior (CCB) in the service market area. Although CCB is vital for online retailing success, MIS and e-commerce research efforts have generally focused on the customer's customer coproduction that are customer in-role behaviors. Moreover, although the effect of information created by anonymous strangers on other customers increase, interpersonal trust research have focused on only the relationship between a seller and a customer. Therefore, this study attempts to answer two research questions: What are motivational factors that affect CCB? How differently do the two kinds of interpersonal trusts (trust in online retailer and trust in customers) influence customers?
