This study examined the Korean drivers' acceptance of SAS(Speed Assistance systems) and traffic sign conditions in Korea roads for SLIF(Speed Limit Information Function) that is a part of SAS. Exceeding the speed limit is a factor in the severity of many road accidents and SAS would help the driver to observe a speed limit by warning and/or effectively limiting the speed of the vehicle. SAS are in the initial phase in Korea, Korean drivers could not be familiar with automatical speed limiting during driving, SAS interface design would be considered to be more readily acceptable to the public. And advanced SAS have been introduced onto the market which are able to inform the driver of the current speed limit based on camera and/or digital maps based SLIF. These systems are based on external data using sensors, so environmental conditions are an important factor which could cause malfunction of SLIF functions.

For a vision-based driver assistance system, unusual motion detection is one of the important means of preventing accidents. In this paper, we propose a real-time unusual-motion-detection model, which contains two stages: salient region detection and unusual motion detection. In the salient-region-detection stage, we present an improved temporal attention model. In the unusual-motion-detection stage, three kinds of factors, the speed, the motion direction, and the distance, are extracted for detecting unusual motion. A series of experimental results demonstrates the proposed method and shows the feasibility of the proposed model.
Exceeding the speed limit during vehicle driving is a key factor in the severity of lots of road accidents, and SLIF(Speed Limit Information Function) application is in the initial phase in Korea. SLIF helps the drivers to observe a speed limit when they are driving by providing alert and informing the current limit speed information based on external data using camera and/or digital map, for that reason, environmental conditions could be causes of SLIF malfunctions. In this study, design adequacy analysis of SLIF in respect of false recognition as the Korea traffic environment has been performed. As tentative results, road conditions and structure of speed limit sign as well as system performance often caused misrecognition.

Vehicle average speed information which measured at a point or a short section has a problem in that it cannot accurately provide the speed changes on an actual highway. In this study, segment separation method based on vehicle big data for accurate micro-speed estimation is proposed. In this study, to find the point where the speed deviation occurs using location-based individual vehicle big data, time and space mean speed functions were used. Next, points being changed micro-scale speed are classified through gradual segment separation based on geohash. By the comparative evaluation for the results, this study presents that the link-based speed is could not represent accurate speed for micro-scale segments.

In this paper, we implemented the intelligent smart monitor system for next generation which is most commonly viewed information in a vehicle from the instrument cluster, where speed, tachometer, fuel, engine temperature, fuel gauge, turn indicators and warning lights and provide the driver with an array of informations. Designed Smart HUD(Head-Up-Display) monitor system is composed TFT LCD, LCD Back light led, plane mirror, lens and controllers parts and it was assembled to intelligent integrated smart monitor system. Finally, we analyze intelligent integrated smart monitor system for driver safety vehicles and present the possibility to apply to smart intelligent HUD total monitor system for next generation.
In recent years, there have been increasing interests in the mobile crowdsourcing that exploits multiple sensors, communication and user interfaces, and the computation power of widespread smartphones. In this paper, we present a novel mobile crowdsourcing-based driver assistance systems (MC-DAS) that crowdsource the sensor data of smartphone app having already passed a road segment, generate its profile information through a massive data processing, and forward this profile to the smartphone app of vehicle entering the road segment. Based on the MC-DAS platform, we also design and implement a new navigation system that advices the vehicle speed depending on the speedbump and on the road curvature profile. We expect that the proposed MC-DAS platform will be used as a platform for emerging new mobile crowdsourcing applications.
In FMS (Flexible Manufacturing System) and CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing), machine-tools have been the target of integration in the last three decades. The conventional concept of integration is being changed into the autonomous manufacturing device based on the knowledge evolution by applying advanced information technology in which an open architecture controller, high-speed network and internet technology are included. In the advanced environment, the machine-tools is not the target of integration anymore, but has been the key subject of cooperation. In the near future, machine-tools will be more improved in the form of a knowledge-evolutionary intelligent device. The final goal of this study is to develop an intelligent machine having knowledge-evolution capability and a management system based on internet operability. The knowledge-evolutionary intelligent machine-tools is expected to gather knowledge autonomically, by producing knowledge, understanding knowledge, reasoning knowledge, making a new decision, dialoguing with other machines, etc. The concept of the knowledge-evolutionary intelligent machine is originated from the machine control being operated by human experts' sense, dialogue and decision. The structure of knowledge evolution in M2M (Machine to Machine) and the scheme for a dialogue agent among agent-based modules such as a sensory agent, a dialogue agent and an expert system (decision support agent) are presented in this paper, with intent to develop the knowledge-evolutionary machine-tools. The dialogue agent functions as an interface for inter-machine cooperation. To design the dialogue agent module in an M2M environment, FIPA (Foundation of Intelligent Physical Agent) standard platform and the ping agent based on FIPA are analyzed in this study. In addition, the dialogue agent is designed and applied to recommend cutting conditions and thermal error compensation in a tapping machine. The knowledge-evolutionary machine-tools are expected easily implemented on the basis of this study and shows a good assistance to sensory and decision support agents.

In this paper, the intelligent smart monitor system is implemented for the next generation vehicle. to mitigate the numerous effects of distractions within the vehicle, it is vital to put critical information where the driver can use it without affection focus on the road ahead. Audible alarms are useful supplements when used in conjunction with visual displays. But driving is an overwhelmingly visual task. To optimize a vehicle's active safety systems, more than just audible alarms are necessary. The driver needs a visual interface that focuses his or her attention on the road ahead. The most commonly viewed information in a vehicle is from the instrument cluster, where speed, tachometer, fuel, engine temperature, fuel gauge, turn indicators and warning lights provide the driver with an array of fundamental information. TFT LCD, LCD Back light led, plane mirror, lens and controllers parts were designed to intelligent integrated smart monitor system. Finally, in this paper, we analyze intelligent integrated smart monitor system for driver safety vehicles.
This paper presents a method for detecting faults in data obtained from the Automatic Identification System (AIS) of surface vessels. The data include latitude, longitude, Speed Over Ground (SOG), and Course Over Ground (COG). We derive two methods that utilize two models: a constant state model and a derivative augmented model. The constant state model incorporates noise variables to account for state changes, while the derivative augmented model employs explicit variables such as first or second derivatives, to model dynamic changes in state. Generally, the derivative augmented model detects faults more promptly than the constant state model, although it is vulnerable to potentially overlooking faults. The effectiveness of this method is validated using AIS data collected at a harbor. The results demonstrate that the proposed approach can automatically detect faults in AIS data, thus offering partial assistance for enhancing navigation safety.
