  • The Contemporary consumer society demands companies to emphasize more on the brand marketing that can deliver the brand identities distinguished from those of competing companies. In today's environment, the meaning of consumption is not only a simple purchase of a product, but also assimilation into images, experience and emotional aspects of the brand. The flagship stores of brands take the advantage of the tendency seriously and utilize the envelopes of the building as marketing catalysts to establish their brand identities. This paper aims to investigate the possibility of the architectural envelope as a marketing element to establish the brand identities, by analyzing the design techniques that enhance the visual effects utilizing innovative application of material, pattern and connection details. it is studied that the function of architectural envelope's change from past to recent date and role of architectural envelope as means of marketing for expression brand image in contemporary commerce space and elements that can be applied on architectural envelope with theoretical consideration about marketing and brand identity. Also this paper will research about experience elements because the process for consumers to recognize brand image with architecture is the process of visual experience. And through example research, this paper will study interrelationship between visual system of cognition to be expressed on architectural envelope.

  • This study is a basic study of the stone cultural landscape resources of Jeju Island with the value of world heritage. It has the ultimate purpose of providing basic resources for the advantages of various Jeju local resources and future conservation and management. Literature research and field survey were conducted to derive the landscape characteristics of Jeju stone cultural resources. and Research for recognition of stone cultural resources and image analysis were performed in parallel. Accordingly I would like to consider the recognition of the Jeju stone cultural landscape held by Korean and Chinese. As a result of the research, Stone is a typical local resource in Jeju, and the greatest feature of the stone was its natural nature. and In the image of the cultural resources of stone, he highly appreciated the image of "Harmonious", "Attractive" and "Unaffected". Recognized Field walls as "Beautiful" and Dolhareubang as "Familiar". And the most preferred stone cultural resources in Korea and China are surveyed in order of Field walls and Dolhareubang, and you can see that there is a difference between them in the evaluation.

Automatic Method for Transforming Image into Tactile Map Based on Cognitive Characteristics of Visually Impaired Persons (시각장애인 인지특성을 기반으로 한 영상자료의 촉각지도 자동 변환 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose the method for automatically transfers images into tactile maps information based on cognition characteristics of visually impaired persons to more easily provide various image information for visually impaired persons. The proposed method automatically classify color images into row complexity and high complexity based on intensity information and transfer images into tactile map information using each different transformation process. Experimental evaluation, We performed with visually impaired five persons experiments for evaluating the recognition and satisfaction that tactile maps of the proposed automatic transforming method and the manually generated tactile maps of braille textbooks. Experimental results, the recognition and satisfaction that the tactile maps of the proposed method generated are very similar to those of the tactile maps of braille textbooks. Therefore, it could hugely be reduced the time and money of production education materials, and it could greatly improved educative results because it can add more easily that many image data of education materials.

Study on the Image of Gyeonggi-do Governor Lee Jae Myeong through Q-methodology (이재명 경기도지사의 이미지에 대한 연구 : Q방법론적 접근)

  • This research studies voter's value and attitude reflected by the politician's overall image and scrutinizes the separate structures of the voters' subjectivity on the matter. Objective of the research is to explain the influence that exercises on voters' political actions through this procedure. On this research, there were 32 Q samples that are selected, and they were categorized by a pool of 20 people. Result showed total of 3 different categories of cognition patterns towards Gyeonggi-do Governor Lee Jae Myeong. Of the 3 categories, category 1 (N=4) was a reformer with apparent principles and initiatives, category 2 (N=12) was an efficient tactician with executive ability, and the last category 3 (N=4) was a populist that strives to achieve his political ambition. Opinion of the samples in the first category was that Governor Lee is the right guy for demolishing the barrier between vested class and the non-vesting in the society. Voters in the second category showed expectation for Governor Lee's executive policies that satisfy the voters, given his abilities proven while he was in mayor's office for Seongnam city. People in the pool of category 3 worried that Governor Lee is busy increasing his approval rating and popularity by asserting unrealistic opinions and impractical policies.

  • This study aims to consider the display method of the STA information that holds aesthetic cultural distinctiveness with the capability of immediate recognition of information in the relationship between the exposed time and the degree of cognition. As an consideration on the display method of information in an efficient way according as 'information attributes', the purpose of this study is to identify the visualization attributes of the STA information and to seek out display methods accordingly. Based on the information design and cognitive psychology, the cognitive features of the STA information have been identified and four visualization attributes of the STA information have been found based on the preceding studies on the information attributes in line with the relationship between exposure frequency and the level of awareness. In terms of information recognition, a metaphor, metonymy, use of indexical image and context, rhetoric, and Mnemonic have been proposed as major display methods for 'Understandable' and 'Conciseness', which are the major visualization attributes of the STA information while humor, parody, distinctiveness, friendliness, kitsch, formative beauty and newness have been suggested as the major display methods of 'Relevance' and 'Valuable', which are the major visualization attributes from the perspective of sensitive perception of information. Based on the results of this study, I'm planning to come up with display methods and to proceed with analyzing the relationship of the degree of cognition in association with context.

Exploring the Effect on the Channel Brand Equity by Audience Evaluation of Public Broadcasting Independency and Their News Credibility: focusing on KBS and MBC (공영방송사 방송독립성과 뉴스 신뢰도에 대한 시청자 평가가 채널브랜드자산 인식에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: KBS와 MBC를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study investigates how the audience evaluation on independency of broadcasting and news credibility of KBS and MBC affect their channel brand equity(cognition, image, loyalty, and quality). The results indicate that the audience evaluation on news credibility of KBS and MBC has stronger influence on channel brand equity than the one of independency of broadcasting. On ages, the older generation group has more positive perception on channel image and loyalty of KBS than the college student group and the college student group has more positive perception on channel cognition and quality of MBC than the older generation group. On political traits, the politically conservative groups of both KBS and MBC have more positive perception on independency of broadcasting, news credibility, and channel brand equity than the other groups. Consequently, public broadcasting systems should improve the credibility of news for securing independency of broadcasting. These systems make audience change their perception toward public broadcasting as recovering integrity of news and improving professionalism of news. Public broadcasting systems should conduct a further research to improve the management of channel brand equity by studying audiences' age and political traits.

  • The 3D(dimension) vritual reality(VR) has already been used in various sports fields, especially in the training of elite athletes. It is mainly used to maximize the effectiveness of image training, and the use of VR-based image training has received special attention as evidence-based pratices for its feasibility, practicality, and appropriateness. However, in recent years, the use of VR is no longer used only for the training of elite athletes, but is widely used in social sports. This is because, the advantage of exercise in VR is that it is highly stable and has fewer restrictions from the external environment. Considering these advantages, it can be used for the elderly physical activity. This study identifies and reviews studies applying VR-based image training. Several recommendations for the future study on VR-based image training for the older such as interdisciplinary approach to VR-based image training, support needs regarding characteristics of the older, and generalization and maintenance of acquired technology were discussed.

An Analysis of the Differences in Management Performance by Business Categories from the Perspective of Small Business Systematization (영세 소상공인 조직화에 대한 직능업종별 차이분석과 경영성과)

  • The purpose of this study is to survey the successful cases of small and medium Business Systematization Cognition by examining their entrepreneurial characteristics and analysing the factors affecting their success. To that end, previous studies on the association types of small businesses were studied. A research model was developed, and research hypotheses for an empirical analysis were established upon it. Suh et al. (2010) insist on the importance of Small Business Systematization in Korea but also show that small business performance is suffering: they are too small to stand alone. That is why association is so crucial for them: they must stand together. Unfortunately, association is difficult, as they have few specific links and little motivation. Even in franchising networks, association tends to be initiated by big franchisers, not small ones. In that sense, association among small businesses is crucial for their long-term survival. With this in mind, this study examines how they think and feel about the issue of 'Industrial Classification', how important Industrial Classification is to their business success, and what kinds of problems it raises in the markets. This study seeks the different cognitions among the association types of small businesses from the perspectives of participation motivation, systematization expectation, policy demand level, and management performance. We assume that different industrial classification types of small businesses will have different cognitions concerning these factors. There are four basic industrial classification types of small businesses: retail sales, restaurant, service, and manufacturing. To date, most of the studies in this area have focused on collecting data on the external environments of small businesses or performing statistical analyses on their status. In this study, we surveyed 4 market areas in Busan, Masan, and Changwon in Korea, where business associations consist of merchants, shop owners, and traders. We surveyed 330 shops and merchants by sending a questionnaire or visiting. Finally, 268 questionnaires were collected and used for the analysis. An ANOVA, T-test, and regression analyses were conducted to test the research hypotheses. The results demonstrate that there are differences in cognition depending upon the industrial classification type. Restaurants generally have a higher cognition concerning job offer problems and a lower cognition concerning their competitiveness. Restaurants also depend more on systematization expectation than do the other industrial classification types. On the policy demand level, restaurants have a higher cognition. This study identifies several factors that are contributing to management performance through differences in cognition that depend upon association type: systematization expectation and policy demand level have positive effects on management performance; participation motivation has a negative effect on management performance. We confirm also that the image factors of different cognitions are linked to an awareness of the value of systematization and that these factors show sequential and continual patterns in the course of generating performances. In conclusion, this study carries significant implications in its classifying of small businesses into the four different associational types (retail sales, restaurant, services, and manufacturing). We believe our study to be the first one to conduct an empirical survey in this subject area. More studies in this area will likely use our research frameworks. The data show that regionally based industrial classification associations such as those in rural cities or less developed areas tend to suffer more problems than those in urban areas. Moreover, restaurants suffer more problems than the norm. Most of the problems raised in this study concern the act of 'associating itself'. Most associations have serious difficulties in associating. On the other hand, the area where they have the least policy demand is that of service types. This study contributes to the argument that associating, rather than financial assistance or management consulting, promotes the start-up and managerial performance of small businesses. This study also has some limitations. The main limitation is the number of questionnaires. We could not survey all the industrial classification types across the country because of budget and time limitations. If we had, we could have produced many more useful results and enhanced the precision of our analysis. The history of systemization is very short and the number of industrial classification associations is relatively low in Korea. We should keep in mind, though, that this is very crucial to systemization entrepreneurs starting their businesses, as it can heavily affect their chances of success. Being strongly associated with each other might be critical to the business success of industrial classification members. Thus, the government needs to put more effort and resources into supporting the drive of industrial classification members to become more strongly associated.

Study about Library and Information Center's Image of Library and Information Science Students as Workplace (문헌정보학과 학생의 직장으로서의 도서관·정보센터 이미지 분석)

  • Positioning technique which has been widely used for making marketing strategy by analyzing customer's image also has been used for public and test-taker's image analysis about public facilities, entrepreneurs, universities. This study analyze image of library and Information science students who trying to find a job in library fields about diverse types of library and information centers by Positioning technique. As a result of Similarity cognition analysis by multidimensional Scaling and K-means clustering, it was found that students recognize that public, national, university, school library are similar, on the other hand, portal company and special library are different from those types. In the jobs, user service jobs and technical service jobs are recognized as separated clusters, and cultural program job is also recognized dissimilarly from those clusters. By the way, images about work satisfaction and stability of employment shows high in national library; high wage shows high in portal company; employee's growth potential shows high in special library; job importance shows high in reference service jobs; difficulty shows high in content's job. Anyway, in the workplace selection, almost students regard stability of employment as top priorities, accordingly they prefers public library at most. Such a preference concentration tendency is strongly appeared in local university students than in metropolitan area students as a result of Pearson's chi-square test.

A New Residual Attention Network based on Attention Models for Human Action Recognition in Video

  • With the development of deep learning technology and advances in computing power, video-based research is now gaining more and more attention. Video data contains a large amount of temporal and spatial information, which is the biggest difference compared with image data. It has a larger amount of data. It has attracted intense attention in computer vision. Among them, motion recognition is one of the research focuses. However, the action recognition of human in the video is extremely complex and challenging subject. Based on many research in human beings, we have found that artificial intelligence-like attention mechanisms are an efficient model for cognition. This efficient model is ideal for processing image information and complex continuous video information. We introduce this attention mechanism into video action recognition, paying attention to human actions in video and effectively improving recognition efficiency. In this paper, we propose a new 3D residual attention network using convolutional neural network based on two attention models to identify human action behavior in the video. An evaluation result of our model showed up to 90.7% accuracy.
