  • As awareness of environmental pollution problems increases worldwide, interest in air pollutants is increasing. In particular, NOx and PM, which are major pollutants in diesel vehicles, are contributing significantly to emissions. As a result, its importance is increasing. In this study, based on research results applied to large diesel vehicles, the problem of natural regeneration caused by low exhaust gas temperature during low speed and low load operation is solved by applying a complex regeneration DPF that is not affected by temperature conditions to small diesel vehicles. The feasibility of application to small diesel vehicles was reviewed by measuring the emission reduction efficiency. As a result of the engine test, the power reduction rate and fuel consumption rate before and after device installation under full load conditions were 2.9% decrease and 3.5% increase, respectively, satisfying the standard for a 5% reduction, and as a result of the regeneration equilibrium temperature (BPT) test, the regeneration temperature was 310℃. appeared at the level. The reduction efficiency test results for the actual vehicle durability test equipment showed 97.3% PM, 51.0% CO, and 31.1% HC, while the city commuter vehicle had PM 97.5%, CO 61.7%, HC 40.0%, and the school bus vehicle had PM 96.8%, CO 44.4%, HC 34.3%, and low-speed logistics vehicles showed a reduction efficiency of 98.2% for PM, 36.0% for CO, and 45.7% for HC. Based on the results of this study, in the future, it is necessary to secure DPF technology suitable for all vehicle types through actual vehicle application research on temperature condition-insensitive composite regenerative DPF for medium-sized vehicles.

  • Background: Workers in logistics centers are always pressed for time to collect and pack products. They also participate in high-intensity manual labor in which various musculoskeletal hazards exist. In the case of logistic center labor, it is estimated that there is a high risk of presenteeism due to the above characteristics which can cause deterioration of workers' mental health. However, there is insufficient research on this topic. Methods: Workers in a logistic center were surveyed using an Internet questionnaire. The survey items included demographic characteristics, labor intensity and work-related factors, and mental health aspects such as depression and anxiety. The survey was conducted for about a month from July 26, 2021 and a total of 353 people were analyzed. Through the χ2 test and t-test, the characteristics of workers who experienced presenteeism were examined and the prevalence ratios (PRs) of depression and anxiety experiences were calculated by multivariable Poisson regression. Afterwards, stratification analysis considering gender, the type of contract, and labor intensity was implemented. Results: In the group that experienced presenteeism, the number of working days per week was higher and fixed-term workers, high labor intensity, and sleep deprivation were more common. In the multi-Poisson regression analysis conducted by adjusting the demographic characteristics, working hours, and work-related factors, the PRs of depression and anxiety were 1.98 (95% confidence interval: 1.24-3.18) and 1.81 (1.22-2.68), respectively. In particular, the p-value for interactions was significant when stratified with the type of contract. Conclusions: As a result of the study, presenteeism and mental health were associated in logistic center workers. To prevent mental health issues of logistic center workers, management of presenteeism is necessary and a prospective study is needed.

  • This study aims to develop novel centrality measures applicable to networks that include both directional and weighted information, such as interlibrary loan networks and logistics transportation networks. While weighted PageRank has traditionally been used in such cases, experimental results reveal that it yields similar outcomes to neighborhood centrality, which measures local centrality. However, triangle betweenness centrality (TBC), despite assessing global centrality in weighted networks, does not consider link directions. To address these limitations, we propose two modified versions of the existing TBC measure: TBC-T for trust networks and TBC-F for flow networks. Applying these measures to two interlibrary loan networks, we find that TBC-T considers only the weights of inlinks, while TBC-F incorporates both inlink and outlink weights. These newly developed measures are expected to be useful for measuring node global centrality in weighted directed networks.

  • The explosive increase in demand for drones poses a major threat to the safety of existing aircraft operations and important national facilities operating in low-altitude airspace. In order to determine the type and degree of safety threats for low-altitude airspace drones, the types and types of threats from drones are evaluated through analysis of AHP(analysis hierarchy process) for aviation workers in each field. The composition of the threat factor hierarchy from drones was designed using a specific operation risk assessment (SORA) technique previously studied by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), an advanced aviation country. Based on this, it will be possible to secure the low-altitude safety operation of existing aircraft by identifying and removing prior hazards between each aircraft operation and mission performance.

  • Following the introduction of containerized sea transportation, the size of container ships has progressively increased. While the primary objective of this enlargement is to achieve economies of scale, it significantly affects the operational environment of ports where these ships dock, raising concerns about the validity of efficiency gains from ultra large container vessels from a port operational perspective. This study evaluates the efficiency of various ship sizes from January to December 2022, utilizing internal data from the container terminals A and B located in the Busan New Port. The analysis encompasses ships affiliated with The Alliance at Container Terminal A and those associated with 2M at Container Terminal B. Key input variables considered for the study include ship size (TEU), total berth time, and loading/unloading time, with cargo handling performance serving as the only output variable. The findings indicate that larger ship sizes exhibit higher efficiency compared to smaller container ships.

  • Drone was first used for military purposes but as the range of use has recently expanded. It is being widely used in various industrial fields such as agriculture, service, logistics, and leisure. Lithium polymer batteries are lightweight and highly efficient, so they are mainly used as power supplies for drones. Accordingly, the need for lightweight and high energy density lithium polymer batteries has increased in order to supply stable power to drone. However, lithium polymer batteries can lead to ignition and explosion due to overcharging, short circuit, etc., so they must be used with a protective circuit installed. The protection circuit consists of a protection IC that monitors the voltage of the lithium polymer battery and a dual N-channel MOSFET that acts as a switch in case of overcharge and overdischarge. Therefore, this paper was implemented in one package form using a battery protection IC and a MOSFET semiconductor die chip serving as a switch. When implemented as a one chip package IC, at least 67% of savings compared to existing parts can be achieved.
