  • A conference-key agreement protocol is essential for computer network conferences that need secure communications. Especially, the fault-tolerant conference-key agreement can make a shared conference-key even if some make conferees disturb the key agreement processes. However, the performance of the previous fault-tolerant conference-key agreement protocols is decreasing significantly when the number of fake conferees is increasing. In this paper, we propose an efficient fault-tolerant conference key agreement protocol. Our scheme is based on the ID-based one round tripartite conference key agreement protocol. Simulation results show our scheme's efficiency against Yi's method especially when the number of fake conferees is large.

  • Deniable authentication protocol allows a sender to deny his/her involvement after the protocol run and a receiver can identify the true source of a given message. Meanwhile, the receiver has no ability to convince any third party of the fact that the message was sent by the specific sender. However, most of the proposed protocols didn't achieve confidentiality of the transmitted message. But, in some special application scenarios such as e-mail system, electronic voting and Internet negotiations, not only the property of deniable authentication but also message confidentiality are needed. To settle this problem, in this paper, we present a non-interactive identity-based deniable authenticated encryption (IBDAE) scheme using pairings. We give the security model and formal proof of the presented IBDAE scheme in the random oracle model under bilinear Diffie-Hellman (BDH) assumption.

  • Various researchers conducted the research on two-factor authentication suitable for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) after Das first proposed two-factor authentication combining the smart card and password. After then, To improve the security of user authentication, elliptic curve cryptography(ECC)-based authentication protocols have been proposed. Jiang et al. proposed a privacy-aware two-factor authentication protocol based on ECC for WSM for resolving various problems of ECC-based authentication protocols. However, Jiang et al.'s protocol has the vulnerabilities on a lack of mutual authentication, a risk of SID modification and a lack of sensor anonymity, and user's ID exposed on sensor node Therefore, this paper proposed security enhanced privacy-aware two-factor authentication protocol for wireless sensor networks to solve the problem of Jiang et al.'s protocol, and security analysis was conducted for the proposed protocol.

  • Revocation is one of the main difficulties faced in implementing Public Key Infrastructures(PHs). Boneh, Ding and Tsudik first introduced a mediated cryptography for obtaining immediate revocation of RSA keys used in PKIs. Their method is based on the idea that each user's private key can be split into two random shares, one of which is given to the user and the other to an online security mediator(SEM). Thus any signature or decryption must be performed as a cooperation between a user and his/her associated SEM and revocation is achieved by instructing the mediator SEM to stop cooperating the user. Recently, Libert and Quisquater showed that the fast revocation method using a SEcurity Mediator(SEM) in a mRSA can be applied to the Boneh-Franklin identify based encryption and GDH signature schemes. In this paper we propose a mediated identity based signature(mIBS) with batch verification which apply the SEM architecture to an identity based signature. Libert's GDH siganture scheme is not forward secure even though forward security is an important and desirable feature for signature schemes. We propose an efficient key udating mediated signature scheme, mKUS based on mIBS and analyze its security and efficiency.

  • Recently, a concept of bid-rigging is issued in electronic auction. To prevent this attack, Abe-Suzuki proposed firstly receipt-free scheme based on bidding-booth. Chen-Lee-Kim pointed out that Abe-Suzuki's scheme only provides receipt-freeness for losing bidders. Also, they introduced a new receipt-free sealed bid auction scheme using the homomorphic encryption technique. The main participants of their scheme are Auctioneer, Auction Issuer, Bidder and Seller. Bid-rigging can happen by a seller in their scheme. We propose receipt-free sealed-bid auction scheme using a universal re-encryption mixnet. For our receipt-free sealed-bid auction, we use Pseudo ID of a bidder and universal re-encryption technique of Golle et al. Also, our scheme satisfies privacy, correctness, public verifiability, non-reputation, and receipt-freeness.

  • Since one of weak points of public crypto-systems is to require the verification of public key, identity based crypto-systems were proposed as an alternative. However, such techniques need a private key generator which can be a single point of failure. To improve such weakness, threshold identity-based crypto-systems were proposed. In this paper, we propose a new threshold identity-based encryption scheme which is constructed to extend an identity-based encryption scheme by Cocks. Since the proposed scheme is based on quadratic residues, it has smaller complexity of encryption. And we prove that the proposed scheme is secure against a chosen identity attack.

  • Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are infrastructure-less and stand-alone wireless networks with dynamic topologies. To support user's safety in MANETs, fundamental and various security services should be supported. Especially in mobile commercial market, one of the major concerns regarding security is user privacy. Recently, researches about security system to protect user privacy in cluster-based MANETs have been introduced. This paper propose a cluster reconfiguration protocol under anonymous cluster-based MANETs to enhance the network stability. The improved anonymous cluster-based MANETs can recover the network structure against abnormal states of clutserheads.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks consist of small, inexpensive, low-powered sensor nodes that communicate with each other. To achieve a low communication cost in a resource constrained network, a novel concept of signcryption has been applied for secure communication. Signcryption enables a user to perform a digital signature for providing authenticity and public key encryption for providing message confidentiality simultaneously in a single logical step with a lower cost than that of the sign-then-encrypt approach. Ring signcryption maintains the signer's privacy, which is lacking in normal signcryption schemes. Signcryption can provide confidentiality and authenticity without revealing the user's identity of the ring. This paper presents the security notions and an evaluation of an ID-based ring signcryption scheme for wireless sensor networks. The scheme has been proven to be better than the existing schemes. The proposed scheme was found to be secure against adaptive chosen ciphertext ring attacks (IND-IDRSC-CCA2) and secure against an existential forgery for adaptive chosen message attacks (EF-IDRSC-ACMA). The proposed scheme was found to be more efficient than scheme for Wireless Sensor Networks reported by Qi. et al. based on the running time and energy consumption.

  • In the wireless Internet, it is so restrictive to use the IPSec. The MIPv4 IPSec's path cannot include wireless links. That is, the IPSec of the wireless Internet cannot protect an entire path of Host-to-Host connection. Also wireless circumstance keeps a path static during the shorter time, nevertheless, the IKE for IPSec SA agreement requires relatively long delay. The certificate management of IPSec PKI security needs too much burden. This means that IPSec of the wireless Internet is so disadvantageous. Our paper is to construct the Mobile IPSec proper to the wireless Internet which provides the host-to-host transport mode service to protect even wireless links as applying excellent WP-IBE scheme. For this, Mobile IPSec requires a dynamic routing over a path with wireless links. FA Forwarding is a routing method for FA to extend the path to a newly formed wireless link. The FA IPSec SA for FA Forwarding is updated to comply the dynamically extended path using Source Routing based Bind Update. To improve the performance of IPSec, we apply efficient and strong future Identity based Weil Pairing Bilinear Elliptic Curve Cryptography called as WP-IBE scheme. Our paper proposes the modified protocols to apply 6 security-related algorithms of WP-IBE into the Mobile IPSec. Particularly we focus on the protocols to be applied to construct ESP Datagram.

  • The security of information, including image content, is an essential part of today's communications technology and is critical to secure transmission. In this paper, a new ROI-based image encryption algorithm is proposed that can quickly encrypt images with a security level suitable for environments that require real-time data transmission for images containing sensitive information such as ID cards. The proposed algorithm is based on one dimensional 5-neighbor cellular automata, which can be implemented in hardware and performed hardware-friendly operations. Various experiments and analyses are performed to verify whether the proposed encryption algorithm is safe from various brute-force attacks.
